Story
Meet Siggy – Your Loyal, Loving GuardianSiggy is a gorgeous 2-year-old brindle Great Pyrenees mix weighing 82 pounds. She is incredibly sweet, especially with children of all ages (incl. rambunctious toddlers) and gets along well with other dogs in the home. True to her breed mix, Siggy is both intelligent and protective—once you’re part of her pack, she will be fiercely devoted and always have your back.As a Pyrenees, and what we believe to be a Catahoula mix, she has strong guardian instincts. She is deeply bonded to her family “pack”, and is naturally protective. She isn’t aggressive but is true to her instincts as a protector. She’s also very submissive/eager to please—she learns quickly and never needs harsh discipline to understand what’s expected of her.Siggy does have some separation anxiety, but she does fine when she has another dog around for company while her humans are away. While Siggy is incredibly affectionate with her family, she isn’t a fan of crowded public places or strangers approaching her and her “pack”. However, if given the chance to approach others on her own terms, she is gentle and sweet. She would do best in a home that understands and respects her protective nature- one that provides the proper introduction to guests, and provides enough yard space to be a mostly stay-at-home dog, where she can love on, sunbathe, and protect, her family.Commands she knows:-sit-shake-leave it-drop itIf you’re looking for a fiercely loyal, intelligent, and loving companion who will always be by your side, Siggy is the perfect match.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.May 5, 2025, 11:29 am

Story
This gentle giant was surrendered to us after his elderly owner passed away unexpectedly. Coming to the shelter has been a big adjustment for Loki. He's ten years old and had been with his owner since he was ten weeks old, so this much new is a lot on this old dog. Nevertheless, Loki has settled in at the shelter, and has adjusted to his new routine. He spends time out in the yard with volunteers, which he loves, as well as going for leashed walks. Loki is a big boy, weighing in at around 120lbs. He is sweet natured, and enjoys treats and a big comfy bed to relax on. Someone with Boerbel Mastiff experience is preferred. Loki is not altered at this time but is up to date with vaccines. He has gotten along with a spayed female dog and is not a good fit for a household with cats. Loki is simply a gentle soul looking for just the right person to spend the last of his golden years with.
