Story
Meet Sabrina, a gentle 6-year-old Mastiff mix who’s in need of a special forever home. Sabrina is living with mast cell tumors (MCT) due to cancer and is currently on medication to keep her as comfortable as possible. She requires a loving home that is prepared to offer her hospice care and a peaceful environment. Sabrina can be shy with new people and may give a warning growl or snap if approached when she’s not ready. However, once she builds trust, she becomes deeply affectionate and very attached to her people. She gets along well with mellow dogs and will thrive in a calm household where she can feel safe and loved. If you have a compassionate heart and are ready to provide a supportive and caring home for a special dog like Sabrina, you’ll find a loyal and loving companion in her.

Shelter Visiting Hours are 12 pm to 4 pm Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Please fill out an adoption application at mamcorescue.org or attend one of our Saturday adoption event. Events are held each Saturday from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at our office: 2721 W Oxford Ave., Suite 6 Englewood, CO 80110 *In order to protect our puppies, we do not allow puppies to attend open events until they have a minimum of two vaccinations. Puppies who are available, but not listed on our weekly Facebook event, are considered "deposit only" puppies. These puppies will only attend the event IF they are reserved through a deposit. You can check the list of puppies attending the open event by checking the event:https://www.facebook.com/MAMCORescue At MAMCO we understand that in order to continue rescuing moms and babies, we must stretch our finances as far as we are able. For this reason we use variable adoption pricing. By assigning higher adoption fees to high demand moms and puppies, we are able to rescue more families in need. The money raised through these adoptions acts as a benefactor to moms and puppies in our care who require expensive veterinary treatments, have behavioral issues, or need more time to find a home. We often reduce the adoption fees on these harder-to-place moms and puppies to help them find forever families. Adoption fees vary. Applications can be filled out at mamcorescue.org. ##735151##

Story
Pickles is very sweet with me and my daughter (8yrs), she is often aggressive with new people. We've done our best but it's time to admit we aren't a good fit for her. We adopted her as a puppy and she's two years old now. Her mom is English mastiff/St. Bernard and her dad is from a long line of bovier de Flores. We did six months of training with pickles her first year. She's been such a gentle giant to me and my daughter. She used to be friendly with every dog she'd ever met except for our other dog, Gary. Gary doesn't like big dog. Something changed last year and she can be aggressive with people and other dogs. She chases our cats so we keep them separated. The home she came from had many cats and we were told that she never bothered them.

Story
Blocky headed cutie pie! Meet Rufus! A fun loving boy looking forward to settling down after the recent numerous transitions in his life. Rufus enjoys playing with toys, going on long walks and hikes, and opportunities for casual recreation with other dogs! Once settled down and comfortable in his routine, Rufus is likely to be a couch potato after a long day of fun. He can't wait to pile on the couch for movie nights with his new family!Rufus has come a long way since he first arrived at Foothills as a stray and has become a favorite of our volunteer walkers. Rufus loves exploring the world through his nose and perhaps may benefit from scent games that will keep his mind engaged by playing "find it" with buried toys and treats. When volunteers take him into one of the play yards, they better have a good supply of tennis balls because he LOVES a good game of fetch!Rufus will only be rehomed to a family with children 10 years of age and older and is recommended for a home without other dogs at this time. Meet with him today! Primary Color: Brown Weight: 73.2 Age: 2yrs 3mths 1wks

Princess is a 3½-year-old English Mastiff who has faced more challenges in her short life than anyone should endure. At just 15 months old, her previous owner found her on Craigslist, and Princess hoped this would be the start of her happily ever after. Sadly, that wasn’t the case. She spent over 10 hours a day in a crate that was far too small, leading to muscle atrophy and heartbreak. The owner was planning to euthanize her. However, her story took a turn for the better when AZ Mastiff Rescue stepped in the day before her scheduled euthanization to offer her the love and care she so desperately deserves.    Princess embraces her newfound freedom, and seeing her so happy is heartwarming. She can now take bathroom breaks on her terms, stretch out with her beloved ball, and follow her humans around instead of being left behind in a crate. Unfortunately, this stop in her journey is only temporary, and we are searching for her Happy Ending Family.   She is up to date on her vaccinations spay, and her ears and teeth are in great shape. Although she started with minimal muscle mass, daily exercise and play have greatly improved her condition. It’s exciting to think about her journey ahead! She has made great strides in reducing leash pulling and can be quickly guided into a 'sit' when she does pull. She seeks reassurance from her humans, which helps build her confidence. Because she has spent a significant amount of time alone in a crate, she is unsocialized and unsure how to interact with other dogs. A confident dog teaching her the appropriate canine cues while giving her space would benefit her.    Her perfect home would be one with older kids & no other animals! She is not dog aggressive but lacks dog social & interaction skills. Princess is a Velcro dog and shows some separation issues. With short bursts of absences and trust that her humans will return, she’s started to build trust in abandonment.  Princess is a quick learner, mastering 'sit' and 'down' in 24 hours. She eagerly looks to her human for guidance, and with treats as motivation, the sky's the limit for her growth!   Will you be the storybook ending this Princess deserves? Please contact Wendy if interested- 303-993-9952     December 7, 2024, 6:39 pm

Story
Zen is a 6-year-old male Neo Mastiff mix who’s as big-hearted as he is big in stature. Rescued from a shelter after his previous owners surrendered him for being “too big,” Zen is now on the hunt for his forever home where he can truly shine. Zen is a sweet, playful giant with a lot of energy for his breed. He’s very intelligent and learns quickly, making him a joy to train. However, Zen prefers to be the only dog in the home; he can get jealous and aggressive with other dogs, wanting all the attention for himself. When he's your one and only, he’s incredibly loving and will shower you with affection. Though he’s not reactive to other dogs on leash, Zen does best in a home without canine companions. He appreciates careful introductions to new people, especially those who approach unexpectedly. Zen’s ideal owner will be someone experienced with his breed and capable of continuing his training and socialization. If you’re ready to welcome a devoted and energetic companion into your life, Zen could be the perfect fit. He’s looking for a loving home where he can be the center of attention and enjoy all the love he has to give!

Story
Hi there!  Mortimer here, checking in after arriving in Colorado! Im between 1 and 2 years old (no one ever told me my real birthday so the nice doctor at the vet's office took a guess) and the rescue people asked me to tell you a little bit about myself. I love tug of war!  I figured i would start with that since its really important that my new home like to play that with me.  I also like to play with other dogs, but can get a little scared if they are super loud and in my face at first.  I am "crate-trained" whatever that means, and enjoy these things called "leash walks" where i get to go out and smell and see new things.  My foster parents say that i have decent leash "manners". I've seen a cat a few times, and wasn't overly interested in it, but i have never lived with one, so I don't know how i would feel about that. I ended up in Colorado after someone dumped me in a very rural part of new Mexico.  A nice lady there found me and gave me food and water and shelter which was very nice, but she couldn't keep me so she found some nice people in Colorado to help me find a new forever home!  If i sound like the kind of dog you would like to hang out with fill out the application below and be sure to mention my name! If you are interested in fostering or adopting Mortimer, please fill out an adoption application at gotdrool.org

Story
Dixie and Latigo come to us after their human dad passed and Dixie started escaping the yard on a regular basis. Their human mom recognized that she could not keep them safe and asked us to help. We of course said YES! Things they will need in their new home – a yard with a 6 foot fence. Normally we don’t require fences, but for these two a 6 foot fence is an absolute MUST. They will still try to get over it, but won’t be able to. They are still learning the finer points of being inside dogs, but are doing really well so far! Dixie is definitely the leader with these two – she’s first to try new things and Latigo will follow her. They are also learning about leash manners – and so far are doing really well!
