Story
Who is not a fan of Steel Magnolias? Magnolia was named after the movie and so was her BFF Jackson. She is paired with him. She is seeking human affection but still is a tad shy. We want to make adopting easy for you! Here’s our application:   https://form.jotform.com/232837730565159  Once you complete it, we’re on it! We’ll call your vet (or personal reference) the next business day. Then we like to do a brief video chat (FaceTime if you have it) so you can show us your new pet’s home - where they’ll sleep, eat, and play. During our chat, we can also give you tips or answer questions about how to successfully integrate your new family member into your household, especially if you have other pets. Our adoption fee is $150 and covers our costs of spay/neuter, vaccinations, vet exam, and supplies. (Once old enough, all our cats are current on their shots and have been spayed/neutered.) We’re a strictly no-kill shelter just for cats. We’re cage-free, donation-based, and volunteer-powered. We’re small but special and we’re glad you found us! For more info don’t hesitate to call or text us at 540-987-6050 or email us at adopt@rappcats.org. November 7, 2024, 8:31 am

Story
Mira is a  beautiful bobtail. She is bonded with Micah. She needs him as he is her friend and protector. They must be adopted together. Her estimated DOB is 3/18/2022.  After their owner died, they were left abandoned for almost 10 months, which explains why they are showing some fear as they relearn to trust.  When the new owner bought the house, he immediately contacted us.   We think they would settle down quickly with a new family, as they were the family pets who have been through a lot.     We want to make adopting easy for you! Story
An approved adoption application is required to meet me in my foster home -- fill out an application today! Our mailing address is Reston, VA and our cats fostered in NoVA and DC homes.  Washington, D.C.- Suburban Virginia/Maryland Area inquiries only, please! Meet Lynx! She is a very sweet and outgoing kitty. She is always the first to say hello whenever you have guests over and tries to get some extra pets. She enjoys hanging out wherever you are and is always happy to get some snuggles or to hang out on your lap. She is usually calm and quiet but does go crazy for her toys and could run after them for hours. She gets along with cats, dogs, and kids. She can be adopted by herself or with one of her kittens, Joey or Panda.  She is polydactyl and has lots of extra toes. She was also born without a tail. That does not currently cause her any issues and is not expected to ever be a problem. She does have some signs of early kidney disease and is on a prescription kidney diet. Her kidney values have improved and her vet is hopeful that it can be reversed. She also has a double-chambered right ventricle which has led her to have an enlarged heart and a heart murmur. Her cardiologist does not recommend medications for her at this time but she may potentially need some further down the road. She is very sweet and tolerant and would be good for medications if she does end up needing it.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 30, 2024, 6:10 pm
