Story
Luke and Leia were saved from being euthanized at the shelter due to them being manx. Luke (orange tabby) sometimes falls over, has some weakness in back legs but nothing major. He is able to stand and run. Leia has no issues. They both use the litter just fine. They are super loving and adorable. They love human interaction.

Story
I'm a confident, social Manx! I reach out immediately and seek affection. I was a great mom to five kittens, now I'm ready for a loving home! I think humans are the best, but I don't care for other cats. I would be best as an only cat. I have been spayed, FIV-FELV tested, microchipped and vaccinated for FVRCP and Rabies. Visit me in the Adoption Center at Brea PetSmart, whenever a volunteer is present.

Adopting a Manx

Frequently asked questions about acquiring an Manx - the pros and cons of adopting versus going through a breeder, and associated costs.

It typically costs $50 to $150 to adopt a Manx from a shelter or rescue organization. The adoption fee usually covers an initial exam, preventatives, spay/neuter, microchipping, and vaccines. Conversely, buying a Manx from a breeder can be prohibitively expensive, often costing $500 to $1,500. Buying a Manx kitten from a breeder is also not recommended due to the welfare concerns of contributing to the breeding of Manx cats with shortened or missing tails.

The easiest way to adopt a Manx is through a shelter or cat-oriented rescue. A great place to start is with a breed search on Adopt a Pet, which will show you all the available Manx cats in your search radius.

Manx fun facts

Fun Facts:

Manx cats do not have tails due to what is believed to have been a spontaneous mutation. The taillessness is a dominant gene in the Manx breed.

Stimpy on The Ren & Stimpy Show is a Manx cat!

Tail lore has it that two Manx were the last passengers aboard Noah's Ark, and Noah (accidentally) slammed the door on their tails.
