Story
Meet 'Rumple'! This beautiful cat was found outside as a stray, covered in fleas and having had to defend herself against predators. She is a tailless Manx breed, which are known to be smart, very affectionate, to get along with children, and very loyal. Rumple's foster mom agrees with this...she is followed everywhere when Rumple is not basking in the sun or sitting on the couch or her lap. Rumple loves to just hang with her people, explore and play, take naps, watch squirrels...well, she IS a happy cat!Rumple has moderate Manx Syndrome, in which a few bones in her lower spine are missing along with her tail. It gives her a unique walking gait and adds to her charm. She has minor incontinence, which her foster says does not slow her down or cause much mess. Come meet this special girl! Thank you for your interest in Rumple! Please visit www.hart90.org/petdetail.aspx?ID=16787 to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on this pet, to email the contact person listed for more information and how to meet Rumple, or to submit an online application. HART adopts to the local DC/VA/MD metro area only. Visit our website for more information about our adoption process.

Story
Olive Twist got her name because she was born with a little corkscrew turn at the tip of her short tail lol This little manx loves to climb and play. She will be entertained for hours chasing a ball of tin foil around the house.  &#226&#157&#164. She is full of adventure, curiosity, and love. This beautiful calico tabby is unusually colored and an unusual personality. Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com for more information. Our vetting is extensive: Spay, rabies, FIV vaccine, FIV tested and negative, fecal and dewormings and a Drontal  and microchipped. Story
Tony is about 5 or 6 years old, 9-10 lbs, and he does not have a tail (presumably a breed characteristic). He is not a confident jumper, though he can figure out how to get to higher places with time. He might require pet steps to get onto a bed. Tony will need some time to warm up to you, but he is very cuddly and affectionate once he is. He's active and playful, and he likes being held. It's hard to move him from my lap sometimes, he usually just wants to be near me. I have another cat who I adopted 6 years ago, and the two do not get along. I';ve tried many methods of acclimating one to the other, but I think it's a personality mismatch. My resident cat is more passive and prefers keeping her boundaries, while Tony can be territorial and aggressive when he plays. I think my house might be a little too small to accommodate him while he's trying to acclimate to another cat. Tony has gotten along well with other cats and a dog previously.

Story
An approved adoption application is required to meet me in my foster home -- fill out an application today! Our mailing address is Reston, VA and our cats fostered in NoVA and DC homes.  Washington, D.C.- Suburban Virginia/Maryland Area inquiries only, please! Meet Lynx! She is a very sweet and outgoing kitty. She is always the first to say hello whenever you have guests over and tries to get some extra pets. She enjoys hanging out wherever you are and is always happy to get some snuggles or to hang out on your lap. She is usually calm and quiet but does go crazy for her toys and could run after them for hours. She gets along with cats, dogs, and kids. She can be adopted by herself or with one of her kittens, Joey or Panda.  She is polydactyl and has lots of extra toes. She was also born without a tail. That does not currently cause her any issues and is not expected to ever be a problem. She does have some signs of early kidney disease and is on a prescription kidney diet. Her kidney values have improved and her vet is hopeful that it can be reversed. She also has an enlarged heart and a heart murmur. Her cardiologist appointment is not until November 26th where they will try and give her a more official diagnosis. She may not need any medications or continued care but we will not know for sure until her appointment. Her vet recommends that adopters be prepared for the potential for her to need medications 1-2 times a day and continued cardiologist appointments every 6-12 months. She is great at the vet and has been good about taking medications too.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 7, 2024, 11:10 am

Story
Mira  is a bit shy, but loves to be petted. She's a beautiful bobtail. She is bonded with Micah. She needs him as he is her protector. They must go together. Her estimated DOB is 3/18/2022.  After their owner died, they were left abandoned for almost 10 months, which explains why they are showing some fear as they relearn to trust.  When the new owner bought the house, he immediately contacted us.   We think they would settle down quickly with a new family, as they were the family pets who have been through a lot.     We want to make adopting easy for you!
