Story
Eilish is a friendly, laid back fella who enjoys being around people, other cats/kitties and is even good with dogs! He really enjoys the company of other cats and would make a great companion for someone needing a friend for their current cat. Alternatively, Eilish would be thrilled to be adopted with his brother, Billie, or another foster cat to keep him company. Eilish doesn't mind being held and will gladly receive any pets you have to give. He's not shy and likes to explore new places with his brother. Eilish and Billie look very similar, except Eilish has a bobtail. This unique cutie can't wait to find his forever home! Eilish is located at our Petsmart kennels (12901 N Interstate Hwy 35 Building 7, Suite 700, Austin, TX 78753) where you can visit him and some of our other kitties available for adoption! If you have any questions, reach out to Eilish's foster mom, Jesse (jesseblack713@gmail.com) or fill out an application online! ##2317717##

Story
Curious, Friendly, Playful With Manx for the Memories, you're actually getting part kitty, part bunny! This adorable, friendly guy hops around like a bunny and even has a cute little bunny tail to match! Manx is super sweet and loves people. He has become his foster's shadow, since he loves to follow her around and prefers not to be alone. Manx doesn't let his bunny-hop gait stop him from playing and running around! He loves playing with catnip toys and his fishing pole and often gets the zoomies. He will make little noises when he's playing or wants attention as his way of telling you how excited or happy he is! Manx is actually a Manx cat, a tail-free orange tabby boy who is extra cute and fuzzy. Along with being a Manx he was born with Manx Syndrome, which means his spine and spinal nerves didn't develop normally; he needs his human to press gently on his bladder twice a day to "express" it and help him go pee. It is super easy once you get the hang of it, and APA! will show you how! Since he's incontinent, Manx requires some extra medical care, which right now includes a regulated diet and manual expression. His foster has him eating Science Diet Gastrointestinal Biome food twice a day and he takes Prazosin twice daily as well. Manx takes his meds no problem and is also super easy to express as long as he's focused on his Churu treat! This routine has been working great for him and his foster! For more information, please contact APA! In foster, Manx lives with another foster kitty and the resident cat and German Shepherd. He loves playing and hanging out with the other foster kitty, but he's gotten the memo that the resident cat isn't super friendly. Manx also likes the dog but hasn't tried to play or cuddle with him. The perfect forever home for Manx is one with people who can continue his routine, which is working great for him (and it's so easy), as well as give him lots of love and attention! He would happily live with other cats and most dogs, but he's really all about his people and just wants to be wherever you are. If you want to meet this little bunny-cat, ask to set up a meet and greet! Caring for an incontinent cat is easier than you may think. Want proof? Check out this video: bit.ly/CatExpressionDemo All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. Story
Playful, Cuddly, Sweet Watch out, reality baking shows: Usagi is a Master Kneader! Though she prefers to knead while cuddling next to you on a soft blanket. We prefer that, too, and have crowned her Champion! It's a win-win. Usagi is super affectionate and adores everything and everyone! She has a calm and snuggly nature and loves to be held while getting neck scritches. She is soooo sweet, and has been good with adults and the kids she has met! Usagi was friends with the other cats and the big dog in her previous foster home, and would organize them into games of hide-and-seek. Similarly, while in the shelter, Usagi groomed, played, and cuddled with her feline roommates. She seems to choose her favorite besties that are calm and sweet, similar to her! Usagi loves to play, though not roughly. She is an expert zoomer and runs around with joyful glee. She likes scratchers and the laser toy, as well as rolling around with toys that spin, roll, or crinkle! She climbs cat towers and perches to survey her kingdom. She also hops like a bunny! And since "Usagi" means rabbit or hare in Japanese, this little girl lives up to her name. She is a Manx and doesn't have a tail, which gives her a bunny-like tail. She was born with Manx syndrome, which is where the tail is shortened or absent, and the spine is shortened because it didn't develop properly. Because her back legs didn't develop typically, when she walks, runs, and hops she uses her front legs to steady herself. She is a happy, cheerful, curious, and independent girl with the heart of an explorer! The Manx syndrome gave Usagi fecal and urinary incontinence, which means you have to help her go pee and poop by pressing on her bladder and bowel a few times during the day. It's called "manual expression", and APA! will show you how and make sure you are comfortable with it. Caring for an incontinent cat is easier than you may think! Check out this video: bit.ly/CatExpressionDemo She may move around a little differently than other cats, but as you can tell, she doesn't let it hold her back! Usagi is a gal with deep thoughts and funny observations, and she likes to tell you about them. She's chatty, always ready to start an interesting conversation with you. Usagi is looking for a home with people who can encourage her to be her happiest self while taking great care of her medical needs! Somewhere with a bunch of room to hop around and a place to snuggle up with soft blankets sounds ideal to her. Well, almost ideal, because what would make it ideal is with people to love-love-love, and a nice cat to be her buddy! Usagi is bright, loving, and confident. She may require extra care, but doing so creates an unshakable bond between you and her. She is soooo much more than her special needs! Contact us today to learn more and arrange a meet & greet! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Usagi, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.

Story
Sweet, Gentle, Reserved Meet Sunbeam! This beautiful, sweet gal has been loving mama to her babies, but now that they’re more independent, she’s starting to come looking for pets and attention for herself. She’s calm, gentle, and a little reserved at first but friendly with people once they’ve gained her trust. Sunbeam can get curious once she gets comfortable in an environment, so giving her time to adjust is key. While she hasn’t been super cuddly yet, she’s been preoccupied taking care of her babies, so that might change once she’s fully retired from her mama duties. However, she is very good about being picked up; her foster believes that, with time and trust, she might be a wonderful cuddle buddy. While she occasionally enjoys playing, Sunbeam - like her name implies - enjoys taking lots of naps in the sun! She has a cute little gallop when she wants to play and makes cute little chirping noises when she wants attention. While she’s been around her kittens, she hasn’t interacted directly with other animals while in foster care. She has seen a few animals from windows and just seems curious rather than aggressive or afraid. Sunbeam prefers respectful children that let her adjust to them at her pace, as she can be timid with children she doesn’t know well or who are loud. A quieter home would probably be best for Sunbeam, as a busier and louder home might make her feel overwhelmed. She’d appreciate a patient person who is willing to build her trust and help her acclimate to her surroundings at her pace. Bonus points if you have prime sunny spots for her to snooze in and windows for her to watch the outside world! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Sunbeam, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.

Story
Cuddle-queen, Affectionate, Charming Meet Zendaya! Zendaya is a gorgeous Manx with a heart as warm as her calico coat. Her green eyes are enchanting! She’s a playful, curious girl who loves spending quality time with her humans. While she enjoys all kinds of toys, her current favorite is a silicone one that keeps her entertained for hours. This cuddle queen has a high affection level—whether it’s napping together, squeezing your arm for snuggles, or simply being in your company, Zendaya thrives on love and connection. She’s a gentle communicator, greeting you with a sweet meow when you enter the room but otherwise remaining calm and quiet. Zendaya has been diagnosed with feline hyperesthesia, a condition in which she is extremely sensitive to being touched in certain areas, making her prone to overstimulation and anxiety. It’s well-managed with two medications. Despite this, she’s remains a happy, people-loving cat who shows no signs of her condition disrupting her joy or love for life. Her only true need is a compassionate and understanding adopter who can revel in the love and affection she shares so generously, be aware and respectful of how and when she wants her pets, and provide her daily meds. She can obviously still be interacted with and touched regularly, but it needs to be on her own terms to avoid stress, anxiety, and overstimulation. Zendaya would do best in a home where she can be the center of attention, playing, cuddling, and sharing peaceful naps with her favorite humans. If you’re looking for a loving, playful companion who will brighten your days with her loving nature and calico charm, Zendaya is ready to meet you. All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Zendaya, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.

Loving lap cat, chirps to request treats and snuggles, enjoys being carried like a baby. She is cool with certain dogs but only if they completely ignore her and stay out of her personal space. TO ADOPT: Fill out the application online at https://www.siameseorientalsnowshoerescue.org/adopt or soscatrescue.org More info at siameseorientalsnowshoerescue.org/FAQ Each cat will come to their new home with: neutered or spayed, age-appropriate vaccines, individually tested negative for FeLV/FIV, heartworm negative, and microchipped. DOGS & CATS: Unless otherwise noted, they are compatible with calm dogs who are cat-friendly. They are also compatible with cat-friendly cats with similar energy levels. If interested in a cat/kitten with a higher energy level than your current cat, adopting a bonded pair is recommended to avoid upsetting your cat. Slow introduction to new dogs and cats, according to the Jackson Galaxy method, is important to ensure they get along. FLUFFY KITTIES: Adopters must have experience grooming long hair cats or be willing to take a quick class on YouTube about grooming long hair cats. TRANSPORT DETAILS: Kittens younger than 16 weeks: adopters can fly to Austin or San Antonio airports for pickup. Texas: cats over 14 weeks can travel along 1-35 or within 4 hours of San Antonio with a rescue partner with prior arrangement for a small donation. Out of state: for cats over 14 weeks old, transport is available to most of the Southern states, plus CT, NY, PA, ME, NJ, New England and a few other states for $185 per crate. If they get along and space permits, up to 2 cats or 4 kittens can share a crate, and cost may be split amongst adopters. Out of state transport must have an Interstate Health Certificate as mandated by law by a qualified veterinarian for $85 - $125 each.
