Story
No PF profile or pictures Tofu is a 10 year old Maltese that was recently returned to GCSPCA after being adopted out at 2 years old due to allergies that his former owner could no longer manage. Right now, he is receiving twice daily eye drops, medicated baths every couple of days and daily ear drops for an ear infection. At his age, his eyesight isn’t the best, but he can see well enough to navigate your home and yard. He is also eating hypoallergenic prescription food at this time and will probably need to stay on this for the duration of his life, as he is doing well on this diet. Tofu is a happy little guy at 8 lbs and once he settles in, he seeks attention and loves to be held. He seems to have trouble sometimes with his back legs and a recent X-ray revealed an old back fracture. While he has a lot of special needs, please don’t let that deter you, Tofu is the perfect dog for someone seeking a quiet lap and couch buddy. He is crate trained, working on house training, and good with other dogs and people. His foster believes cats wouldn’t be a problem either. If you’re looking to provide a loving forever home for a dog in his golden years, please consider Tofu. If you are interested in adopting Tofu please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet’s age. ***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt.***  March 9, 2025, 3:38 pm
