Story
Once Duke has become comfortable, and you with him, Duke can be an absolute sweetheart. His little tail wags to see someone he loves, and he'll jump, and spin around in excitement at seeing you, and in anticipation of being pet, loved and, oh, of course, fed. You really know you've won his heart when he starts giving you kisses. When held under his legs, with his back against your chest, he will tilt his head back to rest against you, and under your chin, soaking up the love and appreciating you in a very special way.In a low energy, mellow environment where he is the only animal, Duke will love his owner/s right back, and will happily sit on your lap while you Netflix and chill. And your own heart will melt when he lets you know that you have helped this very delicate little boy to feel like he is finally, and furever, home. That said, Duke is a very special, and medically fragile, dog who will require a very special kind of person.Duke's vision is failing, and he has a occasional bouts of what appears to be minor paralysis or nerve related issues affecting mobility. Unfortunately, this can make him reactive, so he does not get along we with other animals, at least not quickly, largely because he is unaware of their approach.Even people need to be careful, and slow in their approach with him. So, no kids, and no other pets. Please don't let his challenges dissuade you. The person who adopts Duke will be helping him realize a quality of life that he has never known, and sorely deserves, and he will truly love you in return. Are you that person? I sure hope so. He's longing for that connection.
