Story
Elf is an 8 month old, 9 lb. Maltese/Poodle mix. Little Elf had a rough start in life and has been making lots of progress since coming to the rescue. If you are patient and go slowly with him, he will reward you with lots of affection and love. This little guy is still timid when meeting new people, but he has blossomed in his foster home. His favorite things in life are hopping around his yard like a little rabbit, being brushed, and mealtime! He sometimes will see if he can sneak his foster siblings' food if he finishes his first! Elf really enjoys the company of the other dogs and cats in his foster home and has a blast playing with them. He is fairly low energy and is working on his leash skills, but sometimes the leash can be too scary. He is almost totally potty-trained and is proud to announce that he is crate-trained and can be left alone for short periods of time in his crate! Elf is sure to bring any family joy, and he can't wait for his forever family to come along and scoop him up! He has not been kid-tested yet, but because he is timid, he would do best in an adult-only home or with older, respectful kids. Apply to meet this sweet nugget today! Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!December 16, 2024, 1:10 pm

Story
Buddy is an 8 month old, 15 lb. Maltese/Poodle mix. Buddy is such a good puppy! He is learning all kinds of new things in his foster home and enjoying a structured routine which helps him thrive as a puppy. Because he is still in his puppy phase, he loves to play, play, play and has the best time doing so with his best doggie friend who lives in his foster home. He and his foster brother love playing with toys, rolling around with each other, and running through the yard. Buddy does love chewing so he hopes his new family will buy him lots of squishy chew toys to gnaw on! He is so loveable and likes to cuddle too. Buddy is an easy-going guy who just wants to be loved at the end of the day. He is working on his potty training and leash training and is doing well with both! When his foster mom has to leave, Buddy does well in his crate beside his foster doggie brother. He can't wait to find his perfect forever family, will that be you?
