Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Snowball is a beauty who is looking for a new home. Snowball is now in a NJ foster home. Snowball and several other yorkie and Maltese were dumped at a shelter when their breeder shut down. Our partner rescue in Louisiana stepped in to help save these pups! We think Snowball is either a M altese or M altese/yorkie mix. They are all a bit shy, but they are learning how to live in foster homes. Snowball is a sweetie, but can be shy at first. She is learning! They all LOVE other dogs and would do best in homes with other dogs. We aren't too sure on cats or kids yet for most of these dogs.  Snowball is now fixed, up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm. The vet identified she has a luxating patella on her rear leg which is common in small dogs. It was their assessment it did not require surgery. Her adoption fee is $450.   Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. How to Adopt Me! If you are interested in learning more about me, and possibly making me part of your family, please go to wagoninn.rescuegroups.org. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Little Man is a handsome boy who is looking for a new home. Little Man is currently with our partner rescue in Louisiana. Unfortunately , it   was determined that Little Man has a serious heart murmur and the vet in Louisiana did not recommend proceeding with his neuter. Additionally, he recently tested positive for heartworm. Due to that murmur, slow-kill treatment for heartworm is recommended. Slow-kill treatment includes rounds of antibiotics and heartworm prevention over a period of 1-3 years until the heartworms are no longer present. Little Man has been started on this regimen. He cannot be neutered so will need to be placed in a home where this will not present an issue. He is on vetmedin to help his heart function. With murmurs, they can change abruptly or slowly over time. Little Man might be a hospice placement living less than a year or he could live for several years if progression is slow, it is very difficult to say.  Little Man and several other yorkie and Maltese were dumped at a shelter when their breeder shut down. Meet Bunny, our sweet and affectionate girl who’s ready to hop into your heart and home. Found on the street where no one came to claim her, Bunny has shown herself to be the perfect companion. She is our perfect girl, full with love and affection. Bunny would thrive in a home where she has plenty of company as she doesn’t seem to enjoy being left alone for long periods of time. She’s looking for someone who can offer her the constant love and attention she craves and be the only pet in the household so she can enjoy her full attention. If you’re someone who spends a lot of time at home and is ready to welcome a loyal and loving friend into your life, Bunny will be thrilled to stay by your side. Story
My name is GRUMPY and I’m a 5y M Tan Shih Tzu X. I’m 15 lbs of PURE SWEET GROUCHINESS. I was brought to a police precinct in the Bronx, NY and luckily the rescue was able to save me before I was taken to the shelter. I was affectionately named Grumpy because I was not immediately warm and fuzzy with the foster mom and growled at her a lot… but once I got to know her and she went slow with me to introduce me to her household… I trusted her and she can do anything to me now. I’m a little guarded with strangers and rightly so because I was pretty much neglected by my previous family. I’m housebroken and walk well on the leash and I can be picked up and handled as long as you slow. I’m a nice guy but nervous at first so I need someone who is going to be patient and believe in me and give me the TLC I need. I’m good with small dogs but am afraid of big dogs and will snap/snark at them. I’ve not met any cats so not sure about them and best if I don’t go with any young kids. I prefer to be the ONLY DOG so I can get all the attention that I never got in my previous home. My only other vice is that it’s not easy to groom me.. I’m nervous around objects coming to my face so I need to go to an experienced groomer but I was fine being handled by the vet. I need a QUIET ADULT ONLY home with someone or a couple that are home a lot and have had previous experience with a “grumpy” dog and are willing to give me the TLC and believe in me to make me the SWEET AND LOVING dog I know I can be!! If that’s you.. pls request an application by sending an email to: INFO@TAILSOFLOVERESCUE.ORGOctober 21, 2024, 12:19 am

Story
Bode (pronounced like Bow-Dee) was brought to the shelter almost a month ago and has had quite the transformation! He arrived missing most of his hair with two incredibly infected eyes that were ulcerated and left him blind. The smell coming from his mouth was nauseating and he was clearly in pain. After a much needed dental, flea meds and a bilateral enucleation (both eyeballs removed) Bode is now feeling and looking his best. He even has peach fuzz growing in where he was once bald! We don’t know the circumstances surrounding how a dog in such poor condition was out wandering alone, but we do know he wasn't taken care of properly. Now that he’s doing better and thoroughly enjoying the comforts of a foster home, we are now seeking a forever home. Bode enjoys playing with toys, although occasionally he loses them. He loves his foster dog siblings, even when he bumps into them and they get a bit annoyed. He is NOT a fan of being picked up and would do best in a home without children since he has boundaries he really wishes to be respected. Bode LOVES to snuggle in a warm blanket on the couch, and will paw at you for pets (he can be quite demanding that way!). He does well navigating his foster home with only slight bumps along the way. He’s figured out where the back door is and hasn’t had a single accident in the house since his arrival a few weeks ago. We can see the wheels turning in his head as he learns to navigate life, and this smart cookie is doing an excellent job! With patience, reassurance and a little help we know Bode can be an excellent boy for someone. He’s about 8 years old, about 15lbs and ready to start the next chapter of his life. If interested in adopting Bode please apply here! —> www.easelnj.org/application-dog/ Adoption by appointment only with an approved adoption application. Please go to www.easelnj.org/adopt to submit an adoption application. Someone will be in touch within 48 hours.
