Joy was born 11/5/24. She is the happiest girl ever! She loves everyone including children. We are working on house training. She is NOT housetrained yet. She was surrendered to rescue by a breeder who decided to retire. Adoption fee is 950.00. Located in the South. 6 lbs current weight. Thank you for choosing rescue! We are volunteers with other commitments in addition to rescue. Our time is very limited. Therefore, we request a $20.00 donation through paypal in order to process and expedite your application. Donation should be made through Paypal at www.eastcoasthumanesociety.com. We are only available by phone after you have an approved application. All pets are located in the southeast. Transport is available to the NE for an additional $300.00 transport fee. We do not adopt in MA, RI due to import laws. Residents MUST pick up in CT. All dogs over 8 months will be spayed or neutered and heartworm tested. All dogs and puppies have been vaccinated,microchipped, dewormed and treated for other parasites. Lady’s a 7yo 10lb Maltese mix. She’s dog selective, cat and kid 13+ friendly. She’s housebroken if kept on a schedule but will wear a diaper and use pee pads and crate trained. She’s good in a secure fenced in yard and/or going for harness leashed walks. She’s agile, smart, likes squeaky toys, people and going for walks but will bark at people, dogs and noises. She is easy startled so best to sleep in a dog bed on the floor so not to accidentally wake her while sleeping. Lady’s foster requires a calm home, where someone is home often, so not to be left for long periods of time, be an only dog, brushed/groomed often to prevent matting along with leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Lady as all dogs should have 2 weeks in their new home with just their people who live in the home and to not have people over for at least 2 weeks. Dogs need time to settle in and adjust to their new people and environment first so they can learn to trust them first. Lady takes medication for a seizure disorder and for her eyes. We have gotten to know Orville better as he’s settled into foster care… he’s a mostly friendly guy but not without his quirks. This 2 year old Maltese mix (maltipoo? Havanese? Bichon? 🤷‍♀️ he came to us so dirty and matted and looked grey but now is mostly whitish) has been happy to meet new people and dogs and make new friends. He is an anxious guy who prefers to with people more often than not, and can be a bit protective of his food and resources at times so adults only to live with. He’s been doing pretty well with housebreaking as long as taken out on a schedule. We suspect he was crated long hours leading to a lot of his anxiety, and rubbed the fur off his nose trying to get out 😔, and definitely wasn’t getting much attention or care. Orville is about 13lbs full grown and does have a non-shedding coat that needs regular grooming. He’s a busy happy little guy who likes to explore and go for walks, not a couch potato lapdog who just wants to lay around and nap or be dressed up and coddled like a stuffed animal- he wants to be treated like a real dog!
