Story
This is "Perla". Perla is a Maltese Shih Tzu mix. She is about 6-7 years old and she weighs about 12-13 pounds. Perla was recently given away for free over Facebook and it was indicated that Perla likes children. The lady who took Perla has younger children and, sadly, Perla growled at the children. The lady could not keep Perla and had no choice but to find a place for Perla so the lady contacted us. Perla is a very nice little dog. She would make a great companion for a retired couple. You must own your own home. No condos. No apartments. Children must be 12 years old or older. Perla went to our veterinarian and she got spayed, she got her shots, she tested negative for heartworm and she even got her teeth cleaned! Perla got the works! To adopt from us, you MUST have a veterinarian reference in your own name. We will not place any animal without a veterinarian reference. We get a veterinarian reference from your veterinarian which is a history of medical care administered by your veterinarian to your present or previous pet or pets. Please do not contact us if you cannot abide by our adoption rules. The adoption fee for Perla is $450.00. No credit cards. If you are interested in Perla, please email us at feline55keeper@gmail.com. Depending on how Perla feels after her spay, you may be able to meet her on Saturday at Petco located at 201 Union Street in Waterbury during our adoption hours from 12:00 to 3:00. We will have to wait and see. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE STRESS THAT IN ORDER TO ADOPT FROM US, YOU MUST HAVE A VETERINARIAN REFERENCE...NO EXCEPTIONS!

Story
Meet Johnny, a SUPER cute and fluffy male maltese/yorkie mix puppy! Johnnu and his sister, Frances, were born to mama Baby on 12/6/2024 (mom is about 7 lbs). They are both expected to stay tiny like their mama!  Johnny is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone (dogs, cats, people, and kids)! Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper socialization and training, will grow into wonderful dogs! Johnny is medically up to date (age appropriate) and will be available at our adoption event on 2/23 at Petco in Dayville, CT! Applications are being accepted now and we will review applications based on best fit for these puppies as the event gets closer. Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2288710##

Story
Meet Simea (Mia)!Simea, who goes by Mia, is an adorable 12-week-old Chihuahua/Schnoodle mix with a playful and snuggly personality. This tiny pup is expected to stay under 15 pounds when fully grown, making her the perfect little companion.Mia loves to snuggle, play, and be around her people, and she’d thrive in a home with other dogs to keep her company. She’s also great with kids and would make a wonderful addition to a family looking for a loving and playful new member. If you’re ready for endless cuddles and fun, Mia is excited to meet you!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.January 30, 2025, 12:04 pm

Story
DOB 5-25-2024 Ayman is a sweetheart! This little boy is social, loves toys and friends to play with and gets along good with others. He is neutered, heartworm negatiive and received his ProHeart 6 injection. His adoption fee is 750.00 and his transport fee is 165.00 The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Meet Milo!!!  This special boy is a 4 1/2 year old, 11 lbs maltipoo.  He is the complete package.  This sweet boy is good with other dogs both big and small.  He is also good with cats.  Milo is an active little guy that has the best time running and playing with his foster brothers and sisters.  They all have the best time in their fenced in yard.  Milo really enjoys playing but he is also all about the most important thing--YOU!  Milo loves his foster mom.  If she sits down he is right there.  If she goes to the kitchen Milo is right behind her to see if he can help.  At bed time, you got it, trotting down the hall with you.  This great guy would be an excellent companion for a young single person or a great addition to a family with children 6 and older.  (to our knowledge he has not been around toddlers and we don't want to set him up for failure.)  Milo is so small that he could go everywhere with you that doggies are allowed even in the airplane on vacation!  This boy does not want to be left behind.  Milo is ready for a late new year celebration when he meets his forever family.  Hopefully that will be with you.  To be considered for Milo's frever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcaast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Milo is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)January 6, 2025, 2:04 pm
