Story
DOB 5-12-2019 Elias is a retired puppy mill worker, he was stuck in a cage for 5 years of his life from the time he was born. When he came he was so thin, his teeth were totally rotten and he couldn't eat. Well that was his old life, not his new life! Elias has been neutered, all teeth had to be removed, he was heartworm negative and is now on ProHeart6, up to date on all shots and has become a little on the porky side! Elias would love to have his own home now, something he never had hopes of is a reality for him now. Elias is crate trained, gets along with other little dogs, would love to be loved by someone who knew how special he is. Elias's adoption fee is 500.00, this transport fee is 165.00. Our transport is HEARTS LLC, the only one we use for our kids! The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Meet Bug, a SUPER cute male Maltese/small terrier mix puppy and part of the B litter! The 7 pups in the B litter were born to mama Bianca (18 lb Maltese mix, found on the streets of Waterbury, CT) on 1/29/2026. They will be ready to go to their furever homes once they turn 8 weeks old on 3/26, and we are accepting applications on them now!  All of the pups (except for the runt Beebee) currently weigh between 2-3 lbs at 6 weeks old and expected adult weight is under 15 lbs. Bug has a curly gold/light tan coat and is the only pup in the litter with a pink nose! He is most likely to be mistaken for a chicken nugget   Bug is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs. He is medically up to date (age appropriate) and working on housebreaking and crate training. Apply to meet this floofy cutie today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2683103##

He lost 1.5 oz within 16 hours of birth and struggled to nurse from mom His amazing foster mama stepped in and started bottle feeding him around the clock. It was touch and go for a bit, but thankfully this litter fighter slowly started gaining weight and thriving! He now weighs 1 lb at 6 weeks old, we expect his adult weight to be under 10 lbs (probably about 5-6 lbs based on his current age and size). He is a VERY special, strong little boy who has come so far!!   Beebee is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids.
