HIGHLIGHTS:Needs another dogNeeds a fenced-in backyardNeeds a quiet homeI am part of the Patient and Waiting (PAW) Club. My adoption fee has been reduced to $250 (from $350) to help get me into my loving home!Meet Carla, an 11-pound female Lhasa Apso who may be skittish but has a heart full of potential. While she can be cautious, Carla’s love for treats will bring her closer to you. Her absolute adoration for other dogs is where she finds her strength, taking her cues and building her confidence from them.Carla absolutely needs another more confident dog in her future adoptive home to help her learn how to be a dog and boost her confidence. As she doesn`t walk on a leash yet, a fenced yard is essential to keep her safe.Carla has a playful side that shines through when she encounters sprinklers, showing glimpses of her fun-loving nature. Are you ready to provide Carla with the loving and supportive home she needs to thrive? This sweet girl is eager to find her forever family and share her journey of growth and discovery.- - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Story
Highlights: needs another more confident dog in the homeMeet Judee! Judee is a sweet 11-pound Lhasa Apso who has already made incredible strides since she first came to us. Initially very scared and shy, she is slowly starting to open up and show her gentle nature. While she’s still nervous around humans and hasn’t quite worked up the courage to come up for pets, she is becoming more comfortable being near people and is learning that humans bring wonderful things like treats and soothing scratches.Judee absolutely loves other dogs and finds confidence in their company. She’s often spotted following her doggy friends around the play yard, taking notes on how to enjoy this exciting new world. Her calm demeanor, especially for a young pup, makes her a lovely and peaceful presence wherever she goes.Judee is looking for a patient and understanding home that will give her the time and space to continue building her confidence. A home with another dog would be a perfect fit to help her feel safe and show her the ropes. With gentle care, Judee will continue to blossom into the amazing dog we know she is. Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog`s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!
