HIGHTLIGHTS:Needs another dog in the homeNeeds a fenced-in backyardNeeds a quiet homeMeet Corina, a 12-pound female Lhasa Apso who is still quite standoffish around humans. When she's nervous, she tends to bark at them, showing her need for patience and understanding from an experienced adopter. Corina's past experiences have made her fearful, making her hard to catch, but her love for treats will be beneficial for future training endeavors.Corina adores other dogs and finds immense joy in running around outside with them. This is where she truly comes alive. She will need a secure fence to keep her safe during her outdoor adventures. Having a canine friend in her new home will be essential to help Corina build her confidence and learn how to be a dog.Corina is quite clever and knows how to use her bark to get what she wants, especially when someone stands in front of her kennel without offering a treat. She just needs the right environment and a patient, loving family to help her thrive. Are you ready to provide Corina with the safe and supportive home she needs? With your care, she will blossom into a confident and happy companion.- - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Story
HIGHLIGHTS:Needs another confident dog already in the homeNeeds a fenced-in backyardExperienced and patient familyNeeds an adult only home#### Meet Fancy, a resilient two-year-old Lhasa Apso weighing 12 pounds. Though initially shy, Fancy actively works with our dedicated staff to build courage and improve social interactions. With these interactions every day, she dreams of a patient and loving family who will support her journey of growth. With the right loving and patient family, Fancy will undoubtedly thrive and become a beloved lifelong companion.Fancy needs a home with an experienced owner to continue to help her grow. Although still shy of people, Fancy will gladly take treats. She also loves to play and throw a toy around as she zooms around the play yard. She would benefit from a small or medium-sized confident dog in the home to help show her the ropes. She can be weary of big dogs at first, but she just needs a chance to get to know them. Fancy is working on her leash training and her comfort level with humans, but has already come so far! Because of this she will need a home with a secure fenced in yard of at least 4' in height. * * * *Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. Because some of our dogs are very under socialized, they may not be a good fit for young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Some of our more fearful dogs will do best in a home with another dog and a securely fenced yard. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, many of these dogs come around with patience and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
