Auggie-Labrador Retriever/mix-male-neutered-2 years-63 pounds. Meet Auggie! Auggie came to CCHS as a stray. He`s around 2 years or so and he`s a special guy. When he arrived, he wouldn`t even walk on the floor, peed all over out of fear and seemed too scared to let us do much with him. He was overwhelmed at the smells, sounds and busy atmosphere of the shelter. Auggie likes to get outside and he`s much happier out of the confines of the shelter walls. He`s really a sweet dog and he needs a chance at a home! Other dogs in the home? No problem, Auggie seems to like the company of other dogs. At 63 pounds, he`s not small but he`s not giant either. He`s pretty much the perfect size! We all have fallen in love with Auggie! We feel he`s really a social dog but thinks the shelter is too busy and he likes to stay in his shell, but we see he really wants to do normal dog things, he just needs a different atmosphere. Auggie is pretty clean in his kennel and hangs out in our office to assist the staff with daily tasks and does well! You will love Auggie! Meet Gwenny! As a tiny puppy, Gwen was left with her sisters in a small box--their paws tied with tape, under a broken truck next to a garbage dumpster. They were lucky that their cries were heard and they were saved by a compassionate dog lover. Gwenny is now all grown up (she is two years old and she weighs 60 lbs.), she has been spayed, she is in perfect health, and she has all the vaccines. Gwen may initially be timid, but as she gains confidence and get to know you better, her amazing character emerges. She's great with people and animals, barking rarely and never biting. She is playful and will respond whenever you want to play with her, but she is not pushy or needy. Whether with a single person or a family with kids, Gwenny will thrive and will give you a lots of love. She would need a safely fenced yard (please, no invisible fencing). Her ideal adopter would be retired or would work just part time (or work from home) because Gwenny doesn’t want to be left home alone for more than 4-5 hours during the day. Because Gwen had a rough start in life, her adopter will need to be patient and gentle with her.. But with a little time, she will blossom into a loyal, loving family member.
