I am a playful guy who can be apprehensive around new people. I have been known to bark at new people and need time to accept them. I enjoy treats, One of my favorite treats are peanut butter, I really like the Jif Natural Creamy...I can't get enough of it! Treats have really helped me learn that new people are good and trustworthy here at the shelter. And once I trust you get ready for PLAYTIME! I love running and playing in the yard, and will run up and hug you showering you with kisses! I'm not sure about the other dogs here at the shelter, I tend to bark at them. I haven't really had may chances to meet a dog in my life, so if I do go to a home with another dog it may take some time to adjust. I do like kids, sometimes I can get carried away and knock them over when I get really excited. If you think you have it in your heart to welcome me into your home, you should apply for me today! Calling all big dog lovers! This handsome guy is ready for a new home!Louie is a young adult Lab mix that came to our shelter as a stray, and went unclaimed. We are estimating him to be around 2 -3 years old, and he currently weighs a healthy 105 pounds! Pictures just don't do his size justice! Despite his size Louie truly is a gentle giant that just wants to cuddle, and soak up any attention he can get from volunteers and staff. He does occasionally like to jump up and hug people, but once he gets over his initial excitement of meeting you he will just stand by your size waiting to be pet. In the short time before him coming to he shelter we did learn from his finders that he doesn't do well with chickens, and other small animals. Louie seems to fairly neutral to other dogs here at the shelter so he could potentially joining a home with other dogs. We feel he could do well in a home with kids as well but his size should be considered when around little ones as his enjoyment of being around people may too much for small/younger kids.Louie's adoption fee is $200, and he is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and will receive monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention while in our care. Meet Miss Ginger! Most importantly, she is the happiest little dog I have EVER met, it was nearly impossible to grab a photo of her that she wasn't actively smiling in. This sweet girl is a little doll! She can't get enough lovins, kisses, wiggles, or playtime! She's also a fool for some good old fashioned belly rubs! At about 8 months old, she weighs in at around 25-30 pounds! We reckon she will hit that perfect in-between size where she can accompany you anywhere, everywhere, or nowhere and she will be happy! It goes without saying JUST how adorable this sweet girl is, and how hilarious; seriously. Her personality is without a smidgen of doubt, an absolute retriever. This girl loves her bones, and her toys; they keep her nice and settled in her crate! She's as sweet as they come, and quite the little love bug that will make a perfect addition to just about any home! ALL she really is looking for is a lap to cuddle in, and hugs to get, and playtime to play, quite honestly. I don't think there's many laid-back puppies around like her! Ginger's most ideal day would include hours of cuddles, then a walk or some playtime, eating peanut butter out of a kong, maybe some more playtime, and then taking a long nights sleep. She is literally the perfect puppy! Ginger was initially shy with me, as a stranger- but within moments, she came right up, and plopped her head in my lap; almost as an offering for all the love in the world. She is perfect.
