Story
Bristol is a 1-year-old, 44-pound, lab mix. She is super sweet & loves affection, especially belly rubs. Bristol was found as a stray on the streets of Texas & was in a shutdown state when she arrived at the Texas shelter. After about a week, her true self came out & she loved playing with the other dogs. She likes tug toys & squeakers. She will need someone patient enough to let her slowly come out of her shell. She would be too scared of small, unpredictable children & would love a home with another medium energy dog to play with.DATCP#483538

Story
Jessica Jones here though you can call me Jess. I’m a 2-year-old lab mix weighing about 60 lbs. I’m the perfect size not too big & not too small. I was found as a stray in Texas & have been blessed to come to Wisconsin to find my furever home. I’m spayed & microchipped. I’m a beautiful, sweet, calm, shy girl who loves other doggies. I’ll bow, wiggle my butt, & bop other doggies to get them to play with me. I play with dogs my size & even bigger. I love to play chase with other dogs, too, or my humans. I really enjoy toys that make sounds like squeaky toys & stuffed animals those are both my favorites. I’ll chew on nylabones, too. I’m shy & timid though friendly to all people. I adore children & I’m gentle with them. I crave attention, just wanting pets & cuddles. I need positive reinforcement & a patient family to help boost my confidence. I just want to please my humans. I’m crate trained & go in my crate when my humans are gone & other times for a nap to relax. At night I have free reign & usually sleep by the other doggies in the house or my humans.I’m learning commands like sit and shake. I’m doing well with house training, too. I like to go for walks a day am doing well on a leash. I am food motivated which helps with learning. I don’t bark much at all. I look forward to meeting you. Please help me find my furever home!DATCP#483538

Dottie is an amazing pet! We love her very much! But we have had some lifestyle changes and we feel it is best to find her a new home where someone has more time to spend with her and space for her to be! She is kind, gentle, smart, food driven, and could use more exercise than we can give her. We are heartbroken to let he go and are hoping to find a safe loving home for her. ❤️

Story
Can we just stop for a second and talk about the undeniable cuteness of this little girl!!!!!! She's approx 8 weeks old and full or personality. She's in a foster home in Memphis Tn with Michele and many other dogs and lots of comings and goings so she's very well socialized and confident . She is kennel trained and enjoys the company of her siblings, learning to house train with the help of pee pads and she's also learning all about the doggy door. Wonderful with children, a very gentle and puppy like personality! We use a transport company called Rescue Vet Transport to get our pets from Memphis to the northeast! They travel each and every weekend delivering our adopted pets to the northeast . Transport fee is an additional $185. If you would like to make Greta a part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  10/13/2024 I've been in my foster home for three weeks.  You know in the application LEARN mentions that it can take time for us to get comfortable and acclimate?  That's true.  I am really starting to get comfortable and follow routines.  I am learning manners like to sit when I get fed, sit when I get a treat, sit when I am getting more water.  I am taking treats gently (if you remind me).  I don't have any guarding behavior with food or toys. I still like chewing and I have figured out that if you work at it hard enough you can get those squeaky toys to stop squeaking.  I work really hard at getting the squeaker out and the stuffing too.  I got my first squeaker out today and even though my foster mom is trying to teach me to "leave it" I really, really don't want to leave it.  But I will let you take it from my mouth without any issue.   I am still trying to get my foster people to understand my communication. Sometimes they get it and sometimes they don't. If I toss my water bowl, it's because it's empty and I am thirsty.  If I walk into the room and then walk out of the room, I am telling them that I want to go out potty.  They still have me using a belly band because sometimes I don't give them enough warning, but I am doing so much better.  I understand the word "potty" and when they ask if I want to go potty, I go right to the back door.   As long as I am not distracted, I will go potty right away.  Sometimes reminding me why we are outside is helpful.   I still sleep in the crate at night.  It doesn't bother me at all.  My foster people toss a couple of treats into the crate, and I go right in and settle down, as long as everyone else goes to bed too.  I don't like hearing/seeing that other people are still awake if I have to go to sleep.  My bedtime is around 10:00 but I often fall asleep before then.  You will see in my picture that I have just discovered the couch.  I am snuggled up next to my foster dad.  He falls asleep on the couch too. So yeah.  I just wanted to take some time to let you know that I am still available and how well I am doing.  I am a sweet, sweet boy (I give great kisses) and I am smart.  I will make a great a pet to a very deserving family.   10/9/2024  So, guess what??  I went to doggie daycare today!!!  I was given an assessment and passed with FLYING COLORS!!  I knew I was a good boy. I interacted with new people and new dogs.  I had a few dogs that they say were my best friends today: Pippin, Josette, Beau, Reese, Arnie, Sadie and Owen.  I played with them all and I played nicely. My favorite activities were wrestling with my friends, cuddling with the daycare attendant, cuddling with friends, playing tag, giving kisses, being a social butterfly, running laps and belly rubs/back scratches.  The daycare attendants described me as being playful, happy, energetic and the life of the party (of course, you can see how handsome I am). I am going to go back to daycare tomorrow because it helps me with socialization and it helps expend my energy.  Oh, one more thing.  I rode in the car today without a kennel.  I was in the back of the SUV and I did such a good job!  I laid right down and only stood up one or two times when we stopped.  I can jump in and out of the car all by myself.  I'm not very big but my foster mom appreciated not having to pick me up. That's all for today.  Have a nice night.  I will be snoring very, very soon! 10/8/2024 - UPDATE - I'M READY TO FIND MY FOREVER HOME I had my neuter and that was pretty uneventful.  It has been really tough being cooped up, but I haven't bothered my sutures at all. I am sweet boy who needs someone active and attentive. I have a lot of energy and need an outlet to expend that energy, or I will chew on things.  Even things I am not supposed to chew on.  I like to play ball, and I love when my people stuff my Kong.  It keeps my mind and body engaged and that helps.  So does tug.  Anything that allows me to exercise my jaw helps keep me from chewing things I shouldn't chew.  I can't help it.  I'm a puppy and I'm still learning. I sleep in my kennel all night.  I settle in quietly but usually need to be let out once during the night because I can't quite hold it all night yet.  But I am quick to take care of business and go right back to sleep in my kennel.   Potty training is still a work in progress.  I wear a belly band during the day when I have access to the living room (carpet).  I don't ask to go out potty, but I do have behaviors that tell you I have to go potty as long as you are paying attention. I know to go potty outside and praise helps.  I want to be a good boy, and I like being told that I am a good boy. If you are looking for a very young, active, sweet, goofy boy who can be the center of your attention, then look no further.  I am just the guy for you! Neuter Scheduled 10/4/2024 Hi there! My name is Hulk although I am not quite sure how I got that name. I'm not big, muscular nor do I have anger management issues. I am a sweet boy who was an owner surrender to Anti-Cruelty in Chicago. That wasn't working out for me. I was so scared they had to give me medication to help me cope. Luckily LEARN pulled me and now I'm in a home where I can get the attention I crave. I am a fast learner, and I am quickly learning how to tell people I need to outside to go potty. I sit for treats, but I have a hard time sitting when I get fed or when the leash gets put on. It takes too long and sometimes I help with the leash by carrying it in my mouth hoping that will help get it on faster. I love walks and I actually do decently when I am wearing a harness. There are so many things to sniff, and I really like sniffing. I love all people, but it can sometimes take me a minute or two to warm up, so it takes me a bit to approach you. Once I know you though, I love you. I try so hard not to jump and if you remind me then I will stop. I love toys, I love to play fetch but most of all I love being around my people. Oh, and my favorite thing to hear is that I am a good boy. My whole body just melts and if I have the opportunity to sneak in a kiss I will. Did you know that dogs can smile? I smile every once in a while and I think I am pretty cute when I do it. I do live with one resident dog and sometimes I want to play rough, and he doesn't like it too much. So, our play time is supervised and restricted. I also live with two cats. I am curious and one swiped at me on my very first day, that was a little surprising. They have places to run to get away from me so I haven't gotten to actually "meet" them yet. For some reason I think they prefer it that way. I am on medical hold until I have a chance to heal from my neuter scheduled for October 4th. If you are looking for a handsome young Lab like me, get your application in pronto! Or, if you are an approved adopter, please email labmatch@labadoption.org. I hope I get some interest; I would love to find my forever home! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.10/25/24 Hey everybody, it’s Mona!  My tail is still doing good, you can see the little spot on the end of it in one of my new pictures, and you can also see how hard I wag.  My tail comes all the way around and hits my tummy!  Those pictures are from one of my days at daycare.  I get to be around other dogs all day.  I’m still working on being calm when I meet new dogs, apparently when too excited they sometimes don’t realize I’m just super happy to meet a new friend.  I’m doing really good on my leash when I walk by myself.  When my doggy sister goes along sometimes I need to be held back because she goes soooo slow (lol).  I wonder if I’ll do that when I’m her age?  I got to go to a house with a cat the other day.  It was no big deal, I barely noticed it was there.  That house also had 2 kids and I really loved them.  I wanted to follow them around and see what they were doing all the time.  If you are looking for an enthusiastic little cuddle monster and you can help remind me to be calm when I meet new dogs I would love to meet you. 9/30/24 Hi everybody, Mona checking in!  My tail is all healed up but I still wag it super hard because I’m always so happy.   I get super excited when I see other dogs and sometimes it sounds like I’m upset but really all I want to do is meet my new best friend and be near them.  I’m working on being calmer  when I meet new dogs but it’s really hard.   I got to go to daycare once and I loved it, and all the dogs there. I met so many dogs, and ran around like crazy, and the human girls there were super nice.  I still like my crate, I go in there even for treats, and I’m quiet until it’s time to get out again.   I got to go on a vacation and we rode in the car for a long long time and then we went hiking in the woods.  It was so much fun!  I slept good on the ride, and then I got tired out on the hikes.  I included some new pictures from my trip, some of them include my sister too.  Look how happy I am!  I sure would love to meet you and come live with you. If you think I might be the perfect pup for you and have already been approved, please email labmatch@labadoption.org to let them know. Or get your application in now! You can find that at www.labadoption.org   9/11/2024 Hi everybody, Mona checking in.  My tail is all healed up so I’m ready for a forever home.  You’ll still have to be careful to make sure my tail doesn’t bang into too many things though, because I love to wag it super duper hard.  I’m working on being calm when I’m on my leash but I still get excited and pull on it.  I have a special harness that makes it easier to keep me close.  I like it when someone talks to me while we’re walking, I wag my tail and slow down so I can be closer to you.  I like to be in my crate while you’re gone or sleeping, that keeps me from getting into mischief.  I would much prefer to sleep in bed with you, but I will sleep all night in either place.  But when you come home or get out of bed you have to let me out of my crate right away, because I will be wagging my tail the whole time and banging it into the wires.  I’m just so happy that I get to see you again!  I went camping a couple times and I was really good, I had so much fun!  I don’t notice bicycles at all any more, I just focus on where I’m going.  You can even leave me in the car by myself if it’s not too hot, I will squeak a little bit at first, but then I just watch for you to come back.  If you want to come and meet me I would love it, remember my name is Mona!   Hi everybody, I’m Mona. I am about 1 year old, I look like classic lab but I’m on the tall and thin side.  Like a supermodel!  I could stand to gain a few pounds, which will be easy because I love to eat.  Sometimes I like to look on the table or countertop to see if there is any food up there. I got comfortable in my foster home right away. My previous home couldn’t keep me because they had too many dogs.  I have a doggie sister here but she mostly keeps to herself.  I like other dogs, especially if they like to play, but I’m told I’m a little bossy.  I’m never mean, I just think I know what they should do and where they should go.  I’m helping them live their best life!  My dad keeps an eye on me and reminds me to relax, then I can concentrate on playing.  I love people sooooo much.  I love getting pets and snuggles and meeting new people.  In fact I get so excited I sometimes jump, which some people don’t like, so I’m trying to remember that.  I also wag my tail super hard, but I wagged it so hard that it started to bleed.  The vet showed us how to wrap it so it feels better, but they said it’s going to take a long time to heal. I was spayed the other day, and I am ready for a permanent new home.  I can’t wait! When my family is gone or asleep I stay in my crate.  I usually go in if you just take me over there and say “kennel up”, but sometimes I hold out for a treat.  Supermodels can be smart too! Going for walks in the neighborhood or hikes in the woods is a fun activity, which is a good thing because I have lots of energy to burn off.  I pull on the leash sometimes, especially if I see a rabbit or squirrel, so be ready!  I’m getting better though, because I used to like to chase birds too, but I learned that I can’t fly so it’s just a waste of time.  Bicycles are a little weird, so I usually back up when I see them.  I like riding in the car, and I even learned to hop up into the back by myself. I love my foster family but I really hope I can find a forever family.  If you like to play hard and snuggle harder, I would love it if you would come and meet me.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2024, 6:59 am
