Story
Life goals?? To have someone look at you the way Luna looks at a tennis ball or a stick… Lovable miss-Luna is as ready as ever to land herself a forever family of her own, and one that’s willing to play endless fetch would be her DREAM! Luna (female) is a 4 year old silver lab who joined the New Leash family in pretty poor physical condition due to some negligence + thyroid levels that cause hair loss & needed some medication/maintenance. Fast-forward to today…Luna is doing pretty incredible! Her previous foster family had shown her the unconditional love she’s never known, her fur is filling in nicely, and she is ready for a forever kind of love!   Luna's biggest obstacle is that she is dog reactive, so she needs to be the only pet in a home with a fenced yard.   Luna is currently in boarding and working on training, but really needs a home to call her very own.   More about Luna:  50lbs 100% potty-trained  crate-trained  a well-mannered girl who is a good listener!   LOVES car rides (copilot, anyone? )  will show off her tricks for some yummy treats!  affectionate & loving (kisses, cuddles, belly rubs…you name it! )  would play fetch all day, every day if you’d let her!   continuing to work on her leash etiquette (which she previously had no concept of), and is improving every single day!  ADORES her people! More about Luna’s home requirements:  A fenced-in yard would be her dream, because: 1. alllllll the fetch and 2. roaming + sniffing to her heart’s content!  Being the only dog would be ideal. Luna is your typical “covid dog,” so the socialization skills she should’ve received as a puppy are nonexistent. Her initial reaction is to become quite anxious around new dogs…so if she’s not the only dog in the home, she’d require a low-key, non-reactive 4-legged friend. She would also need to do several meet & greets with him/her prior to adoption! She continues to learn “how to dog” every single day. Luna can be anxious around younger kids.  So a home with kids 12+ is needed for this girl.  Luna is eligible for our foster-to-adopt program, so please reach out if you think she possibly sounds like a good fit for you. APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com **Luna’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. ##1817860##

Story
We have another Poppy—and we hope she is just as popular as the Poppy we posted earlier this week. This Poppy is about one year old and is a 50 lbs pittie mix.   She is an active playful girl who would do best in a  home with a fenced yard  or a very active family who will take her running or hiking regularly.    She could also do well on a farm where she has a job and something to keep her busy.   She loves to explore! Poppy is completely housebroke and goes right in her kennel when given the command.   She loves to chew on bones!  She does well with other dogs. She loves to go on walks, but can still pull a bit on leash. Poppy needs a family who is experienced with dogs and will commit to socializing her safely.   She can bark and lunge when meeting new people on leash.   In the home, she also barks and is not a fan of guests, but if given time and space warms up.   The key is just having the guest ignore her and let Poppy decide  who and when (or if) she wants to interact.  Treats help a lot. She will often come up and sniff the new person She is working on muzzle training, which will help her family to have more socialization for her in a healthy and positive way.   She does seem to prefer women over men.  She has not been around kids or cats. If you are an experienced dog owner/handler and have the time to help Poppy overcome some of her fear of strangers, we would love to talk to you.   She is a great dog with so much love to give.If you’re interested in adoption, please private message us or APPLY HERE if you haven’t yet: https://newleashdogrescue.com ##2050554##

Story
Hi friends, I'm Stella and need your shares! I am 5years old, finally getting to put my hard life in the past and soak up the good life! Growing up wasnt easy, but I ended up in the shelter which was sad but safe, and now Im hanging out at an awesome foster family! They say just one final step to find my forever family that will understand and love me. I still worry about going back to my past life so need a patient dog loving home to guide me when I get scared. I get scared and verbal when meeting new people and dogs, but ease up once I know they are good. I really do love humans and dogs, I just need someone with experience that I can trust to shiw I'mjust a big softie, but i have yet to meet a cat so can't say If I would love them too or not. I am a champ at getting used to my foster mom and dad's routine - they both work during the day so I stay home and watch the house for them. I am super easy to get along with, I'm totally fine to sleep in or bright eyed and ready to go if it's a work day. No need to worry about leaving me, I easily entertain myself with toys! When we do hang out i love the snuggle or really like to go for walks, I listen well when we get to go walking. When I see other dogs I do get excited and can be vocal so someone to guide me for a nice meet helps because I really do enjoy a friend to play with! Older kids and humans are cool too, whoever can show me love! I am very sweet and love to be loved on. My foster mom calls me a wiggle butt I am microchipped and current on vaccinations and have a have a current health certificate. I am being Fostered in Appleton, WI. My adoption fee is only $200 and I am already spayed. I am available now. If you are looking for a laid back, sweet girl, please apply for me at lastpawrescue.org. If you adopt this will come off your adoption fee. If you meet and it’s not a good fit you will be refunded. If you cancel or no show it’s non refundable. **Meet and greets for approved applicants must happen within 3 days or the closest weekend (for long travelers). It’s in the dogs/puppies best interest to be placed into their furever homes in a timely fashion. All household members must attend the meet and greet. Tchoup, is a big old goofy pup. He absolutely adores toys, the more the better. Fluffy toys, balls, chewy bones, they are all magical to him. He calls all dogs friends and would love to have a sibling to run around with in his new home. He’s learning the ropes of living in a home, but he is settling in fast and enjoying his never-ending toy box. This kid would fit in with almost any type of family! Oh Tchoup, you big goofy hunk of love. You’ve been looking for your forever family for a long time and your foster Mom doesn’t understand why being that you are SO handsome? You have some quirks, but don’t we all? You need to get to know new doggy friends before you accept them into the folds of your family, but once in, you are fast friends and love to play. Dominate males maybe not so much, but in your current home you have both big & little male & female dog friends. You absolutely love your human people and are always close by wanting pets and cuddles. Are you a runner or avid hiker, this is your boy!! He loves being outside and would be a great partner. Tchoup absolutely loves his crate and willingly goes in and spends time there. There are instances where this overgrown goof ball like to “hog” all the toys and claim them all as his own (don’t we all). He is kindly reminded to share, and bones and toys removed. This kid is so smart and motivated to learn and would thrive in an obedience class. With his perfect Holstein colors, he looks like a mini cow and who doesn’t love a mini cow/dog?

Story
Hi! My name is Lily Pearl, and I am an affectionate, intelligent approximately 60 lb., two-year old cutie pie! I am listed as a Labrador mix, with soft black, tan & white brindled fur, big light brown eyes and a determined, passionate, fun-loving personality. I truly have a desire to bond with you, eager to receive your love and kindness. Can I be your buddy? I'm learning how to socialize within a family through TLC, a feeling of security, and lots of patience. I love to cozy up with you, and I want to get/give hugs and kisses! When I was little, I may have been taken away from my mom too soon, so I'm learning how to socialize appropriately with other pets. I do try to hang out with my small foster friends, but I do so in small doses. When in public, I'm sweet, timid and curious to say hello. At home, I like to enrich my day with many types of durable toys, balls and cognitive enrichment games. I rest in my crate during the day, and it's easy to call me to go to 'bed.' I would welcome additional positive training, but harshness won't work with me. An experienced dog owner is ideal, as well as someone who works from home. I do well with a harness, when walking on a leash, but I'm a strong girl! I would love to have a fenced in backyard to chase balls, sniff the leaves and run & jump to work out my energy! Any chance you like to run or like agility courses for dogs? I'd love to participate with you! I'll need a family that is nurturing, gentle and praising of my efforts, as I can be a quick learner, and I even know some directions, like sit, stay, touch, hug and kiss! I promise to return the favor with love and affection! In addition, I'm comfortable going potty using cloth puppy pads inside, too. Can I hang out on the couch with you? I prefer to sleep with my family in a bed at night, but I have been sleeping in a crate, and I'll walk right in! I am not spayed yet, but I'm up to date on my shots, micro-chipped, and ready for my new family! My adoption fee is $350, with an additional $100 deposit that's 'refunded' once you show proof of spay. I am being fostered in Schaumburg, IL, which is about an hour south of the Wisconsin border. To apply, please contact www.lastpawrescue.org. 501(c) 3, WI Agriculture license #285589-DS

My foster momma says my mix must be part Tigger ’cause I’m bouncy-bouncy-bouncy! I’m super happy and wiggle all the time and I like to jump off the front porch steps to play outside. I love playing with toys and I really love to play with other dogs. I was really shy when I can to Wisconsin, but now I know people give pets and treats and I really like that. I’m still working on liking a leash I don’t get why I need one when I’ll come back to you when you call me. I’m a real good girl about going into the kennel for bed, I don’t even need a treat of coax me in, but I get one anyway! I can’t wait to have a family all my own!

Story
Tucker is a 5 year old boy who finds himself looking for a furever home. He’s a small to medium boy at around 30lbs. He was recently diagnosed with a seizure disorder and is still adjusting to his meds. This was fairly new diagnosis so we are still learning about it but he will likely require meds for most or all of his life.  Tucker is a sweet lovable boy who enjoys a good cuddle session while also active and playful. He hasn’t met a person he doesn’t like!  He is good with other doggie friends as well but will need proper introductions as he is still learning how doggie play works. He would also be fine as an only dog. We were told he was good with cats as well but he has not been around any since coming into the rescue. Tucker can have a strong independent nature and would benefit from a confident leader to continue helping him learn. He hasn’t had training previously but is food motivated and doing great in his foster home! He has plenty of energy so will need plenty of exercise so a fenced yard to run about may be best for him (but not required if there’s a good alternative) after all he was tied outside the camper for most of his life . Tucker is getting very good with walking on a leash especially after he is done doing his business first. He will walk right at your heal.  He enjoys to spend time outside sniffing around and likes watching out the window with curiosity. Tucker is also crate trained!  Tucker was just neutered and does have a tendency to mark so he wears a belly wrap right now. With consistent corrections and routine potty breaks he is doing better every day. If you’re interested in adopting Tucker (and are preapproved) you can private message us or APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com **Tucker’s $200 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccines to date, current vet check, heart worm test, and microchip. ##2248281##
