Story
Interested in adoption? The first step is an application at paddyspaws.blogspot.com. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered. Our rescue adopts to Wisconsin and Illinois. Our requirements for Illinois applications are: excellent vet history, no children under 7 in the home, and an owned home. Wisconsin does not have these requirements, though we will not consider applications where pets are missing core veterinary care. Meet Jack, a dog taken in by a veterinarian Purchased from a breed who was not reputable or operating with care, this sweet boy needed more. He is just over a year old. He is a neutered male, current on vaccinations, HWT and HW and F/T prevention. He weighs 40#. It is very important that his new home have another dog. One that is confident and well-trained, active and a bit assertive would be perfect. It is important for the new owners to know that Jack comes with some emotional baggage and will need time and patience, and he may never be a socially "normal" dog. He can be very reserved around new (and sometimes old) people. He truly has made amazing strides since we've fostered him, and I think in the right hands, he will continue to become more confident and will thrive in the right home. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once approved a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250. Story
1 year old (estimated) Male (will be neutered prior to adoption) 36 lbs. Has done well with other dogs No known experience with cats or children More information coming soon! The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.January 24, 2025, 6:34 pm

Story
Meet Mazzy! Age: Adult Breed: Labrador Good with: kids and dogs Housebroken: Yes Special needs: Calmer home/dogs due to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Hey everybody, my name is Mazzy, and I'm the most special gal! I'm a young adult now, and I've found myself looking for my forever home. You might notice that I have a lot of extra skin, and that makes me extra beautiful! It also might add a pound or two to my 42-pound frame because pictures make me look a little lighter than I actually am. Let me tell you, that extra skin is a bit more susceptible to scratches compared to a normal dog's skin because I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Luckily, it doesn’t affect my joints, and I have no need for special medicines – or special food either. I just need to make sure I don't play too rough with my fur friends, that's all! I get along well with other dogs of all sizes, but the calmer, the better, so they don't jump on me or scratch me. I do fabulously with children of all ages, and really enjoy being around them! I learned to trust and love most all humans really, but big crowds and busy new places can be overstimulating for me. I like to alert you to any strange noises I hear or of new people coming into the home, so I might not do super great with living in an apartment building where there might be a lot of extra noise. I’m really good at going potty outside – and have learned to let you know I need to go by standing near the door and giving a little whine. I love going on walks, and I do quite well, though why do some of those trucks need to be so big and loud? I'm not sure how well I would do with kitties. Foster mom says I'm so, so smart and love to learn. I also love car rides and my toys - I can keep myself entertained! I promise to make you laugh with my silly antics and zoomies I get. Now I'm ready for my ride-or-die bestie to play by day and snuggle by night with! *Mazzy is being fostered in Edgerton, WI. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Story
As cute as he is Chunk is a work in progress. Due to separation anxiety, Chunk has been brought back to the shelter. As weird as it is, Chunk does well in the shelter environment as well as boarding. The key is DOGS! When he is alone with no other dog in the home he gets destructive and tends to chew items he shouldn`t. Easy answer people think - crate him! NOPE! Chunk will bust out of every crate he has been in. Another dog will be best in his home to help him branch out more and learn the ropes of being a dog. He is a LARGE breed dog and looks Shepherd body type.
