Story
Interested in adoption? The first step is an application at paddyspaws.blogspot.com. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered. Our rescue adopts to Wisconsin and Illinois. Our requirements for Illinois applications are: excellent vet history, no children under 7 in the home, and an owned home. Wisconsin does not have these requirements, though we will not consider applications where pets are missing core veterinary care. Meet Jack, a dog taken in by a veterinarian Purchased from a breed who was not reputable or operating with care, this sweet boy needed more. He is just over a year old. He is a neutered male, current on vaccinations, HWT and HW and F/T prevention. He weighs 40#. It is very important that his new home have another dog. One that is confident and well-trained, active and a bit assertive would be perfect. It is important for the new owners to know that Jack comes with some emotional baggage and will need time and patience, and he may never be a socially "normal" dog. He can be very reserved around new (and sometimes old) people. He truly has made amazing strides since we've fostered him, and I think in the right hands, he will continue to become more confident and will thrive in the right home. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once approved a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250. 2.5 years old Spayed female Has done well with other dogs No known experience with cats or children More information coming soon! The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.November 4, 2024, 11:35 am

Story
Meet Mazzy! Hey everybody, my name is Mazzy, and I'm the most special gal! I'm a young adult now, and I've found myself looking for my forever home. You might notice that I have a lot of extra skin, and that makes me extra beautiful! It also might add a pound or two to my 47-pound frame because pictures make me look a little lighter than I actually am. Let me tell you, that extra skin can tear a little bit easier than a normal dog's skin because I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, but it doesn't affect my joints one bit, so I don’t have to take any meds for it. I just need to make sure I don't play too rough with my fur friends, that's all! I get along well with other dogs of all sizes, but the calmer, the better, so they don't jump on me or scratch me. I do really well with all the humans I've met, but men are more scary to me, so they just need to be patient with me and show me they're safe. I do fabulously with children of all ages, and really enjoy being around them! I'm a bit timid, but I will also alert you to any strange noises I hear or of new people coming into the home, so I might not do super great with living in an apartment building where there might be a lot of extra noise. I go potty outside, and I really enjoy going on walks, and I do quite well, though why do some of those trucks need to be so big and loud? I'm not sure how well I would do with kitties since I think it's fun to chase squirrels and bunnies in the yard! Foster mom says I would really benefit from some training as I'm still a young lady, and I'm so, so smart! I've never really been taught some of the basic things in life, so having someone to take the time to show me how to be a proper lady would be so great for me! I'm really good at taking a toy and keeping myself occupied! I promise to make you laugh with my silly antics and zoomies I get. Now I'm ready for my ride or die bestie to go hiking by day and snuggling by night with! I sure how you see how perfect I am! *Mazzy is being fostered in Edgerton, WI. Story
Meet Victor! Age: Senior Weight: 45 lbs Breed: Lab mix Good with: dogs and cats (no kids in his foster home but would do well with respectful kiddos who went slow with introductions/respected boundaries) House trained: Yes Crate trained: Can be if necessary, but trusted to be left to free roam Victor is a goofy, cuddly pup who is is happy to be leaving his past behind and enjoying the good life now that’s he’s become an Albert’s dog in Wisconsin! Victor is dog and cat friendly and is enjoying all of the people he has met. This medium energy guy can start out shy, but once he’s comfortable with you he is happy to be a velcro pup, there’s no such thing as too close! He can be a bit shy/fearful and may benefit from another dog in his forever home to help build his confidence, though another pet is not required. Victor is uneasy around new things, which presents as him shutting down/shaking. He does not seem to be afraid of people, though he is initially shy. He is a loyal and loving pup who is a quick learner and really starting to blossom in his foster home. He will require patience as he learns the ropes of a new home but his family will quickly see how special this gentle pup is and how rewarding it can be to watch him gain confidence. Victor is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. He’s always ready to play but his absolute favorite thing is to cuddle near his person. He welcomes an invitation to join his foster on the couch or bed. This blossoming wallflower is super curious about the world and would love someone to hold his hand -- err -- leash and be patient with him as he learns more about it. Could you be the person Victor is looking for? *Victor is located in the Madison area Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Story
Meet Chase! Age: Senior Breed: Lovable Lab Weight: 83lbs House trained: Yes Crate trained: No, not needed Chase is a very good boy who joined Albert’s when his family had some life changes and were not able to give him the attention he deserved. He is a classic Lab who loves playing ball! Although ball is life, he enjoys playing with any toys that include engaging with his people. Chase is child friendly, but due to his size he would do better with older children. When it comes to other pets in the home, Chase would be OK as an only dog or would be happy to join a family that had another large dog. Chase has not been cat tested. He has excellent house manners and is house trained and does not require a crate. Chase thoroughly enjoys the company of his humans. He loves to snuggle, sleep in your bed, cuddle on the couch, or just relax on his dog bed. Add a blankie and he’s in heaven! Chase is a fantastic pup, but has some minor health issues typical for a dog of his age/breed. Don’t let that or his age scare you, to him age is just a number! Chase loves meeting new people and dogs and is working on approaching dogs in a calm way in order to make a great first impression. He is a smart pup who also knows a good amount of commands. He does walk best on a harness and knows how to heel. He’s a lab who loves to please his family so the world is your oyster for teaching him new things! Chase has so much love to give to his new family, do you think that could be you? Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs.
