Story
Meet Gunner, a four year old Lab mix weighing around 85 pounds. Gunner is a very handsome boy who will have all the lab enthusiasts in love. He is eager, outgoing with a good amount of energy and untapped potential. It is clear whomever owned him prior to him coming to us didn’t really work with him, so he would do best in a home with some breed experience that understands that this breed enjoys an activity to do. Gunner would do best in a home with no kids but met a small dog without issue. He is extremely treat motivated but you have to watch your fingers when you give him the treats! This pet is available for adoption at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.  If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT?? That`s where you and the pet make sure you`re a good fit for one another by having a fun sleepover prior to finalizing your adoption. It`s a win-win for everyone! Just ask our front desk staff about how it works.Interested in adopting this or another YHS pet? Please complete our adoption questionnaire found at: https://yakimahumane.org/adopt/apply/Our adoption fee includes a lovable companion, spay/neuter, vaccinations and intestinal worming, flea/tick treatment, rabies vaccine (for pets over 3-4 months of age) and a microchip with nationwide registration. Your adoption fee helps support YHS and our spay/neuter efforts in the community to end overpopulation of cats and dogs.If you have any questions, please e-mail us at adoption@yakimahumane.org.

She is currently located at the Ellensburg Animal Shelter. If you are interested in adopting this pet, please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been received. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday.A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal`s picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is lifesaving. Adopt Don`t Shop.

Story
$50 Adoption fee! Why so low? Yakima County is spilling over with stray and dumped dogs. Our goal is to get dogs into the right homes ASAP so we can help other dogs in need. It's not about the money, it's about finding the right home for these pups! After spending almost a year in the Humane Society, Scooby transferred into our rescue. From day one, he fit right into our pack, playing nicely with dogs of all sizes and ages. He is one happy boy! If you want a couch cuddler, he is your guy. This loving boy would love a family to call his own, preferably with a big yard to run in and a few fur siblings to play with. This dog is located in Selah, WA. PetFinder allows multiple postings of the same animal as long as the postings are 100 miles apart from each other. This way we can reach far and wide to find the perfect home for this dog. If driving to Selah is difficult for you, we will do our best to find a rescue partner to meet you halfway. I always recommend on leash, slow introductions to cats so behavior can be corrected right away. Scooby may be too hyper for cats. He’s way too excited to be near them so it may take some time to trust him around cats. EXPOSURE TO CHILDREN: teens RECOMMENDATION FOR CHILDREN: I think he would do well around kids of all ages, but I would use caution around very young children just because of his size and spatial awareness.
