Ok Ok ok!! I know, my namesake is a superhero wannabe... Barry Hubris wants to be THE TICK!!! And, ok I HAD ticks when I was found- so so skinny and so so sad and so so lost and alone. However, I don't REALLY want to BE a TICK!! I want to be a beloved companion. I want to be a loving family dog. I want to be loved. I have some limited vision issues, so no kids at this point- I get nervous and growl when I am being approached too quickly or don't know who you are. BUT, I am way better than I was. Now that I know love and comfort and regular food and safety, I am a regular gentleman! I am a yellow labby mix with a gentle demeanor and have a creamy colored coat. I am about 60# of good boy, and am looking for someone who has a relatively calm and quiet house and room on the couch for me. I am ready for you, I hope you are ready for me!!! ADOPT................DON'T SHOP!!! MY LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!!! Story
Hi, I’m Koda and I’m looking for my special furever family. I’m a 3 year old lab mix, around 45lbs. My foster mama thinks that I’m very sweet, shy, and loving. I love being with my four legged friends – either dogs of all sizes or cats! That’s right, you can call me your little love bug and I will follow you around for love pats and belly scratches. I even have a trick – yup I’m a magician - throw a dog biscuit near me it will disappear! I’m smart too – I know some commands like "House" to go to Mandalay's kennel to eat, my name and I even come when I’m called! Ok well, mostly I come LOL. I’m still working on the leash bit – I get a bit too excited and a whole bunch anxious so … sometimes I forget all my manners. It probably is better that I go to a family that has older kids (and a little calmer) and I would love to have some four legged friends to play with. Well, that’s me … do you have room for a little love bug in your family? *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*

Story
Hi! My name is Scottie, but I am not a Scottie dog, I am not short with long wavy black hair, I am tall with straight blonde hair. So perhaps a better name for me would be Labbie? But I am used to Scottie as a name so we can stick with it. Plus you can make some really cool spin-offs, such as Scottster, Scottie Biscotti, Scottie Spaghetti MeatBall Yoyo, or whatever, be creative. I am an energetic neutered male, 3 year old, Labrador Retriever, with beach blonde hair and the athletic build to make any gidget fall head over heels. I am strong, so you will need a good leash holding arm for all those walks you will take me on. I can’t wait to get excited as I watch you put your tenny shoes on! I have had a couple of homes as I was once adopted from the city shelter and then abandoned on the streets to take cover from rain at a gas station and once again homeless and back to a foster home. Whew. I am looking for an active family with a gentle yet strong leader to help guide me through life and maybe teach me some leash manners and keep me as a permanent family member. I hope to learn more words from you, maybe heel, stay, roll over. I will also teach you a word. Groke, a verb, an old Scots term meaning to look at somebody while they’re eating in the hope that they’ll give you some of their food. Which brings me to my next point. As any true and classic Labrador Retriever I adore both toys and treats. But if I had to choose between the two, which do you think I would pick? Yep. FOOD! Please ask my Foster Mom for more details about me. *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. Story
Kriss Kross is a remarkable lab rescue mix who found his way to Friends of Dogs in July 2023. When he was found as a stray, he was in dire need of care. He had a thin scar around his neck from being tied up, a sore back ankle, and infected ears. Additionally, his eyes are slightly crossed, possibly due to past trauma. Friends of Dogs rescued Kriss Kross not out of pity, but because of his sweet and happy disposition. He has a kind heart, and it was clear to the rescuers that he deserved a chance at a good life. His foster mom took Kriss Kross to the vet for a thorough assessment. He is approximately three years old, weighs 43 pounds, and is heartworm negative. The vet suspects that Kriss Kross may have experienced head trauma, affecting his brain and causing his eyes to cross. His sore ankle is likely the result of a previous injury, which may have caused it to grow incorrectly. Despite this, he doesn't appear to be in pain and has a distinctive, endearing hop when he walks. Kriss Kross has been thriving in a safe and nurturing environment, something he has never experienced before. He has been neutered and is now ready for the next step in his journey. Kriss Kross needs a special home where he can continue to receive the love and care he deserves. Kriss Kross's greatest joy is to be with people. He longs for human connection and eagerly soaks up pets and cuddles. While he is friendly and polite with other dogs, he always prefers to be close to his people. Due to his past trauma, he can be a little anxious and needy, but he has so much love to offer in return. To see more pictures and videos of Kriss Kross copy and paste this link, you can apply directly for Thor by clicking the "Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-220 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Story
Old Yeller, is that a new trend? Old stuff made NEW?? Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart and independent and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I can from a high kill shelter with no hope- Now I EXUDE hope!! And LOVE!!! I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato. I am a bigger boy and about 65-70#. Look me up, get my number, text or call me OR just APPLY to ADOPT ME!!! I will be waiting by the phone!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)
