Story
Thor is a guy with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He loves people and craves attention from anyone who is willing to give it to him. He has a confident demeanor and likes to be in charge, often acting as a leader among the other dogs at the rescue. Thor's energy and strength can sometimes be too much for his own good. With proper care and exercise, he can shed those extra pounds and become a healthier, happier pup. Despite his flaws, Thor is a lovable and loyal companion who just needs a little extra help to reach his full potential.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TNAdoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Story
We got Jasper when he was 6 weeks old from Roanoke Spca. He has always been an inside dog but loves to play outside. Hes very sweet. He is good with older kids. He sounds ferocious but is a big teddy bear! Hes very afraid of thunder. He is crate trained. He is pad trained. He knows sit, paw, high five and lay down (sometimes). We love him very much. I recently had a knee injury and can no longer take him for walks. He needs someone who is able to take him for walks and out for runs. Oh, he also loves going for car rides! Ideally, we are looking for someone who has a yard he can play in.

Sugaree lost her owner and her home all at once. She then spent some time alone in a neighboring pound until we saw her and pulled her back into our care. Unfortunately her owner passed away and she found herself at a neighboring pound. We love our animals so we pulled her back into our care. Sugaree is feeling very lost without her owner and without her home. She'd love to be someone's large lap dog again. She has lived with dogs before and is likely good with kids.

Story
Blitzen ... AKA Blitz ... Blitzy ... Blitzen was rescued in a group of 14 puppies. He was adopted into a loving home but sadly, was returned through no fault of his own. A family member is allergic to his dander, so the heartbreaking decision was made to find him a new home. Blitzen is a very sweet confused boy. He needs someone to take time to show him everything is going to be okay and that he is loved. Blitzen is house trained, seems to ride well in a car, but not so sure he wants to get in, and is not a fan of the crate. He lived in a home with 2 children, walks well on a leash, but when he gets excited, (squirrel, other dog) he will pull. He is still a puppy, a big puppy. Blitzen still needs training with a firm but loving hand. I was his foster before he was adopted, he was such a gentle sweet boy and he still is. Blitzen once again finds himself looking for his forever home. He is a super sweet pup playful and loving unfortunately he and the resident cat did not form a relationship. Blitzen has lived with a dog and does play with another foster but a meet and greet would be required if another dog lived in his future home. Let’s find Blitzen a great home!!! Blitzen is up to date on all his medical, microchipped, neutered and heartworm negative. All he needs now is a home. For information please call BHS at 540-586-6100, or go to https//www.bhsva.org/adoptables to fill out an adoption application.

Story
Steve is a puppy mixed with Labrador and Husky. He is the last one left behind from a large litter. He was taken to a full county shelter due to the owner being unable to find homes for all the puppies. BHS stepped in and took the seven puppies to a safe foster home. He was born April 24, 2024. He has one blue eye and one brown eye. He is a puppy but once he gets his burst of energy out he is laid back. He would do good with children that understand getting puppy jumps and nibbles. He gets along with other dogs but needs to be feed separately, since being raised in a large litter, he has shown food guarding behavior with the other puppies. He is not food guarding with people. He has not been around cats, but he is young enough to be trained to enjoy a cat's company. If you are looking to add a pup growing to medium to large size and would become your best friend, Steve is the one for you. Steve has been dewormed, microchipped, is on heartworm preventive and flea/tick preventative, and has received the Distemper-Parvo combination vaccine. Since he is not yet neutered, Steve is not available for adoption outside of the counties contiguous to Bedford County. For more information, go to https://www.bhsva.org/adoptables to fill out an adoption application and a volunteer will reach out to you. .

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi … my name is BeBe! Please read my bio to find out everything you need to know about me.   If you think I might be the perfect pup for you, go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete the adoption application online. BeBe is a great example of an amazingly wonderful dog with some special needs who needs a hero to be her forever person.  BeBe is a very sweet, shy, stunningly beautiful girl with lots of love to give!  She does great in her foster home, but when she was adopted several years ago, she got loose from her new owner after just a couple of days, and she was 'on the run' for a week before she could be trapped (and returned to AAMR).  She tries so hard to make everyone happy, and she loves having a routine so she feels safe.  BeBe loves people and finding the right people, ones who understand her potential to be a 'flight risk' and who will give a little 'extra' to make her feel safe and secure, is our mission.  Her new home MUST have a physical fence to contain her.  She always uses nice house manners and is definitely an 'inside girl'. The gorgeous pup with the soulful eyes is a smart and snuggly girl!  She loves attention and lots of 'good girls' and once she bonds with you, she will be the most loyal friend you will ever have.  Could she be a snuggly addition to your family? Approximate age/birthdate:  ~ December 2013 Weight/size:  ~ 55-60 lb   Housebroken:  YES as long as you do your part and take her out regularly  Crate trained:  YES … she finds her crate to be a safe placePersonality: a bit shy until she knows you, happy, sweet, loving Energy level:  Medium … she’s a sweet girl, and doesn't know what 'senior' means  Fenced yard required?:   YES - no exceptions - a physical fence (no underground or wireless) … she absolutely needs a place to explore and play safely off-leash.  She is timid and a definite flight risk. It is also necessary to keep the neighbor's cats and the community squirrels safe! Does he/she jump fences?  NO (but probably could if she got spooked) Leash walk:  YES Obedience training:  Knows ‘sit’ Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK but does get a little nervous at first   Spayed/neutered:   YES Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES Microchipped:   YES Social with other dogs:  YES – at least with her foster siblings.  She (as with any dog) should be properly introduced to any new dogs before being allowed to run free with them  Social with cats:  NO CATS … she barks at them and we are sure she would chase them Good with children: She seems to be OK with older children as long as they are calm and gentle with her.  Again ... proper introduction is the key. Adoption donation:  $175 We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible. When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if BeBe picks you too. If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed. Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions. Story
Riggins is a large handsome boy who likes to run around with the other dogs at the rescue. He is somewhat unsure of his place in the pack though. Time spent at a dog park socializing would probably help. Being a doodle, he has a lot of energy and would be best suited to an active family. He would do best with some basic obedience training. The Adoption Fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea, Tick and Heartworm Treatment and Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed.
