Story
Meet the one and only Chad! This handsome fella is a 4-year-old Lab/Hound mix and let me tell you, he's got the looks and the talent to steal your heart in seconds. But don't let his charming appearance fool you, Chad hasn't had an easy life. He was found as a stray, covered in fleas and looking for a forever home to call his own. And boy does he deserve it! Now, let's talk about Chad's special talents. This pooch loves to sing! We're not talking about a howling wolf, but more like a soulful serenade that will make your heart melt. Trust us, you've never heard anything like it before. Chad's ideal home would be with a patient and loving family who doesn't mind his busy and energetic personality. This boy loves to play and stay active, so he'll keep you on your toes. Chad has done well with the dogs he has met at the shelter but as with any adoption a Meet and Greet is required for any dog friends he will be sharing a home with! Chad is neutered, we have microchipped and updated all vaccines including rabies. He has been given a dewormer and started on flea/tick prevention, heartworm tested (NEGATIVE) and given heartworm prevention. To Apply for Adoption/Foster please copy and paste the following link: https://orangecountyva.gov/158/Animal-Shelteris affectionate and curious nature. Story
Meet Curtis, this very handsome 4 year old Retriever was an owner surrendered along with several other dogs in the household due to them not being able to care for them anymore. Sweet Curtis is a shy boy who lacks confidence in himself. Curtis has spent most of his life being an outdoor dog and being a good mentor to the younger dogs at the house. Curtis blossoms when he is around other dogs and you can see him relax and come out of his shell. He will need a dog friend in the home to help him be confident and learn to trust how amazing being part of a loving home can be! Curtis may be best in a home with no cats as he seems a bit too interested in them! Curtis will need time to decompress and will need patience as he settles into the day to day household routine and potty schedules. Curtis did previously live and interact with children of various ages. Curtis is neutered, we have microchipped and updated all vaccines including rabies. He has been given a dewormer and started on flea/tick prevention, heartworm tested (NEGATIVE) and given heartworm prevention. Story
Meet Packer, a lab mix with a unique journey that started on the streets of Texas. Initially rescued by a Texas shelter, he made his way to Knoxville, TN, only to return to his original Texas rescue, which then transferred him to our rescue. Now, Packer is eagerly seeking his forever family. Having experienced significant changes, Packer longs for a stable and loving home to call his own. He is exceptionally people-friendly, showering affection in the form of kisses and seeking to be your loyal companion. While he grapples with separation anxiety, it's understandable given his past; he simply desires a supportive environment where he won't face abandonment again. Packer gets along with other dogs but prefers being the center of attention. Trust is a work in progress for him, and seeing other dogs receive attention is challenging. Packer yearns for the chance to be a dog, to shine, thrive, and become an exceptional companion. His loyalty is unwavering, and he holds a special place among our rescue's favorites. Microchipped, heartworm-negative, up-to-date on shots, and neutered, Packer is ready to embark on a new chapter with a family that will cherish him forever.
