Story
A bit about Blaze and his sister, Shayla, from Volunteer John:`Shyla and Blaze are two angels who are easy going, people pups who are ready for foster or adoption. They’re a joy to walk together, no pulling or scampering…just an easy going walk. Scratches behind the ears and on the belly are in order, and then you become their best friend for life. They’re very cooperative for selfies and are quite photogenic as well. Take a few minutes to stop by PRAS and meet these two seniors. They deserve this opportunity to enjoy a quiet, loving home and you’ll gain two new best friends.`Hello there, I`m Blaze. Age is just a number to me, I`ve got plenty of love to give. I`m a friendly chap, always ready with a wagging tail and a warm nuzzle. I`ve learned a lot in my years, including some pretty impressive commands. I can sit, stay, and even give you my paw. I`m not just all about the tricks though, I`m also a great listener. I`ll be there for you after a long day, offering comfort and companionship. I`ve got a lot of love left to give, so why not let me share it with you? Adopt me, and let`s make some beautiful memories together.

Story
Having to give away my previous animal which was very hard for me to do I kind of got lonely and wanted best friend animal. So a military family who was getting ready to relocate to Germany posted a ad in the Virginian-Pilot about free dog getting ready to move overseas not able to take dog so free dog best friend lonely met Bella and I instantly fell in love but now with my work schedule being chaotic and my wife just had a new baby we have to keep Bella in a crate so that way we don't have any accidents or hiccups with the baby or my wife. The one thing I will say about Bella is that she's very protective as the alpha female she protects her territory and protects what is hers when she's outside she loves to run she just loved being outside. But like I said with me and my wife working she has to stay in a cage and it's not fair to her to be in xxxx@xxxx.x I'm looking for someone who is willing to spend time with Bella take her own Adventures on walks let her know that she is loved

Story
Come have a ball with Silas!!!This sweet, healthy, 10-month-old Black Lab came to us by way of a rural rescue who stepped up to save him from a lonely life outside on a tether. You know the story -- someone adopted a puppy, realized they couldn't care for a puppy, and left it with family -- who neither wanted nor could care for a puppy. The receiving family members did their best -- they brought Silas to a vet, made sure he was vaccinated and neutered -- but they realized that Silas deserved so much more than days and nights tied up in the yard.Silas LOVES people, and play-bows and tail-wiggles at every dog he sees! He's snuggly, gentle, and affectionate -- surprisingly well-mannered for such a young guy!Silas is so smart and eager-to-please!Bonus -- to train Silas, you won't have to break the bank on expensive dog treats. For him, the best reward of all is a tennis ball. Even better if it squeaks!!!So, come have a ball with our amazing Black Lab puppy!Silas would love to cuddle and play with you at Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA. Story
This is Captain! A lab/pit mix. He was recently rescued from living in a crate full time and brought into our home to help him socialize with other dogs and become house trained outside the crate. He is in need of someone who can give him the attention he deserves. We would love to keep him but about 2 weeks after bringing him home we found out we were pregnant. He’s ok around children, but we are not sure how he will do with an infant. He does not know how big he is, but he is kind.

Story
Our wonderful dog Chessie came to us 7 years ago when she was around one and a half years old. We found her online and the previous owner did not know how old she was. They had a more aggressive dog so they chose to give Chessie away. She has been with us as we started a family but as our family has grown we are moving. The house we are moving to does not allow dogs so with a sadden heart we have to give her up. She is great with other dogs, cats, and kids. She is still playful and loves to run around outside.

Story
Allie came to us after her previous owner had passed. When she arrived here, she presented with a torn ACL in her knee. Our medical team has been working with Allie and have her set up for a repair surgery sometime in March. She is currently available for Foster-to-Adopt. She adores playing ball and tug of war, being a high energy girl, she needs outlets for her to burn some of that energy off (limited activity right now due to injury) Allie has displayed some anxious tendencies while staying here in the shelter but she is fully house broken and does not mess in her kennel. She is very loyal, vocal, and cuddly. Allie is not on the adoption floor currently so if you`d like to visit, please ask a staff member for her by name!
