Story
Running buddy wanted. I am a gorgeous black lab and shepherd mix, 18 months old, current on vaccinations, and heartworm negative. Seeking home with love, good food, and air conditioning for my cool down. I am a little shy at first but love to play and explore. Champ would not be good in a home with small children, as they stress him. High energy, Champ needs a physically active lifestyle with a walker, runner, hiker. He has cohabited well with other dogs in the past but bigger dogs intimidate him.  ##782224##

Story
Willa is a beautiful, roughly 4-year-old, 70 lb Lab Shepherd mix whose world has recently opened up in the best way. Formerly known as Pinky, Willa has spent time in board and train, and with structure, consistency, and space to decompress, her true personality has really come through. Willa is still figuring out how to play, and it is impossible not to smile watching her try. She has endearing, slightly chaotic pounces and “is this how this works?” moments that perfectly capture her personality. She is adventurous, enthusiastic, and clearly making up for lost time. This girl is goofy, jumpy, and mouthy when she’s excited in a very typical, puppy-like way. She may jump up and grab at drawstrings, not in a rough or aggressive way, just in an awkward, excited “I don’t know what to do with my feelings” kind of way. She is actively working on manners and impulse control and will continue to need guidance and consistency as she learns. Willa doesn’t rush into new situations. She observes first, builds confidence at her own pace, and once she feels safe, her playful side comes out in full force. She loves other dogs and truly needs a dog companion in her adoptive home. Having a confident, friendly dog around helps her feel secure and brings out her best self. Willa is crate trained, house trained, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. She will do best with an adopter who understands that confidence and manners are built over time and who can continue the structure and training she has started. Because she can be nervous in unfamiliar situations, she will need a secure fence or to be leash walked for safety. Willa has so much life and joy ahead of her. The right home will get to be part of her learning, growing, and discovering just how fun the world can be. If you’re looking for a goofy, dog-loving companion with a big personality and even bigger potential, Willa may be your girl. Story
Lillie is a 10 month old, energetic and intelligent young dog who is ready for a fresh start. She loves being included, loves learning, and has the potential to grow into a wonderful companion with the right guidance. Lillie is spayed, cat friendly, dog friendly with proper introductions, crate trained, and fully house trained. She previously lived in a home and knows the routine. Lillie would not be recommended for a home with small children due to some resource guarding tendencies. She can also be nippy with handling around her neck during tasks like putting on a collar or muzzle. She shows some reactivity on leash and behind fences. None of these behaviors define her and all can continue improving with patient guidance from someone who understands young dogs. She was previously in a foster to adopt home where she was not a match with the resident dog. Since returning, she has shown no dog aggression and enjoys positive, playful interactions with other friendly dogs. She lights up when she has the chance to play and would thrive with another active dog or an adopter who enjoys keeping her engaged. Lillie is social, curious, and full of puppy energy. She is eager to learn, eager to bond, and eager to be part of a home that provides structure and consistency. If you are looking for a playful, affectionate young dog who is ready to grow into a loyal companion, Lillie may be the perfect fit. Email adoptpetersburg@gmail.com

Story
Riley will be 4 on 12/25, about 55lbs, female basic shots and rabies are due in May 2026. She is house trained an inside dog, she does well with other dogs but would be better suited by herself, (very dominant). A one person dog, loves cuddling under the covers, & car riding. We can no longer keep her due to our busy work schedules, I hate leaving her in the kennel all day up to 10-12 hrs without any exercise or roam time throughout the day. She gets out of fence too and we’re in the city near a highway. She needs someone who will have time to spend with her and give her the love and attention she craves. She comes with kennel, leash & feeding bowls. She was originally rescued from a local animal shelter but they won’t take her back bc we’re out of their district. She is very playful and still has a lot of puppy in her she has been treat for heart worm prevention as well as taken barvecto. Serious inquiries only! Please contact me for further details.

Story
Hi, I'm Sabrina! I am laid back and love a simple routine, but am also excited to explore the world. Though I cherish quiet moments like basking in the sun, I can easily be convinced to go for a walk, a hike, or even pull my owner on a skateboard! Me and my toy ball are inseparable and I'm always eager for a game of fetch or tug of war with it. My independent spirit means I'm content on my own but always loyal to those I love. I've also mastered the art of being super attentive to human's moods and am always ready to offer love, cuddles, and gentle kisses during anxious or hard times. Because I was attacked as a puppy, other big dogs make me upset, however I get along with some smaller dogs and my brother (who is also looking for a new home). Ideally, we could be adopted together, but I'm also perfectly content being an only pet. If you're looking for a sweet soul to share in both peaceful and playful times, I'm your girl!

Story
Hi there, I'm Boo, a sweet and fluffy mixed breed (maybe Jack Russel Terrier and lab mix) with white fur and tan spots. I'm about 4 years old and weigh 55 pounds. I'm looking for a loving and caring family who can give me a forever home. I would do well with children, but I recommend older kids because of my size and energy level. I have grown a community of love and support around me. One of my favorite things to do is to visit my friends at the pet store who practice my training (sit, paw, etc.) with me and give me yummy treats! I'm a happy boy who loves to play with other dogs all the time. I have not been cat-tested but can be if you’d like. I love toys and bringing them outside in the yard to play with. I do like to bury some of my toys too. I need some more training with walking on a leash because I get very excited on walks and pull a bit. If you look closely at my photos, you may notice that my front left foot is oddly bent. The vet thinks it was broken and simply healed this way. It doesn’t hurt me or slow me down at all. As you can see from my videos, I still have a great time playing. There really isn’t any need to do anything about it. I just wanted to let you know why my “high five” looks more like a sly five. I absolutely adore Zoomies, splashing around in my swimming pool, playing fetch, and getting belly rubs. There's nothing better than a good romp around followed by some quality couch-potato time. I'm neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. I'm also potty and crate trained. I'm currently being fostered in Clemmons, NC, but can be transported to other states for my perfect match family. If you think you could be the one for me, please complete an application to let my rescue know you're interested in Boo. I can't wait to meet you and start our new journey together!
