Baxter is a total doll. He and his sibling were dumped at our rescue...they are social and so sweet. Baxter is all puppy but he is ready to have you teach him how to be the best boy he can be. He is crate, and potty trained. His life took a little turn at Christmas time when he was stepped on by a cow (yes his fosters have cows :), he had a tail and pelvic injury that required his tail to be amputated and he had to recover. WELL he HAS recovered :) He still has nerve damage in the back leg ..he uses it occasionally but at times doesn't...this does not slow him down...his foster mom, Jodi can share more about this gorgeous boy!!!! He is ready for his furever home and boy will you LOVE this boy!! While he was recovering from his injuries he became the bestest pup you could imagine! owner surrender,This baby cried for months for his owner, it was the saddest dog ever....He orig lived indoors, reports say he kills birds. Wont share food sources. Nice dog, likes other little dogs but is food agressive when other animals are around. He came in very thin.....He is leash trained but should be only dog when food is out to be safe although he does best with the smaller dogs here. He really is a sweet dog. He was almost starved and kept on an apt balcony. Please consider this boy! He is also crate trained now, prefers outside but will come in to play and be crated to eat.

Totally a coincidence but I am as fast as the cars at Bristol Motor Speedway. My favorite thing to do is play fetch and I will play for as long as you are able to throw the ball and ALWAYS bring the ball back to you. I was rescued by Critter Cavalry from an Arkansas shelter and so very thankful to be in Tennessee. I have the best foster home with two foster brothers who are twice my size and I love to wrestle with them. I have more confidence when I have other dogs to show me how to be a dog. I am a little slow to warm up to new people and do not need an extremely active home with a lot of different people coming and going. Once I get to know you after a few days I will never leave your side! I am very well behaved inside the house, I am crate trained, house-trained, quiet, and would make the perfect work from home buddy - I have been keeping my foster mom company by napping next to her desk all day. I would do great in a home with adults only or a family with older children. A canine companion would be great but I'm also willing to take all the attention for myself if I'm the only dog. BUT did I mention the ball. I do need someone that likes ball as much as I do and a fenced in yard is a MUST. I warm up to women first, but after a few days, men are ok too. I just did not have a very good beginning to my short life. If you are patient and looking for a great companion, then you have found her in me. I am spayed and current on all my shots. Nina is a little girl who was born around Mid-May and the family who had their dog give birth, moved away from their country rental and left 10 puppies behind with no plan for food or water…..just an outdoor pen. After several months of a neighbor feeding them, Critter Cavalry Rescue was called in to help take them from the pen and give them a chance to find homes. This girl survived months of abandonment and starvation and has emerged with a few social hesitancies and insecurities, yet a smart mind and loving soul. She is crate trained, housebroken, wonderful with children that are young, other dogs and also cats. She is a champ when it comes to being there for you but socially skittish when there are loud noises, sudden movements from outside and thunderstorms. Nina is coming in to a place that she is showing confidence and not scared of certain things. She will get there soon, but will need someone that doesn’t require her to be perfect. She truly is perfect in so many ways despite her really challenging early months as a litter that was abandoned. Nine is a lab/Pit mix that is beautiful and 44 pounds and a full weight as an adult. She is very sweet and loving and good with children, dogs, but NO CATS…..she loves to chase. She is housebroken and she is crate trained and is a true outdoor girl. She loves to sunbath on the back patio and she welcomes the opportunity to meet new people. She is pretty good on a leash and good on car rides and great recall that usually works for her. She is a companion puppy. She is a Lab/Pit mix and has the heart and soul of a Golden Retriever. I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato.
