Story
Mason is a 6 year old puppy. Although he’s getting older, he still has plenty of energy and motivation to play. He loves to run around, so a big, fenced in yard is perfect for him. He also loves to swim. His favorite activity is jumping in the lake and playing fetch with a stick. You throw the stick into the water and he goes after it. He is very food motivated and loves doing tricks for treats. He knows how to sit, lay down, and stay on command. He also knows how to shake, speak, spin, sit pretty, jump, “bump” (you fist bump his nose,) roll over, and high five. If you get a beach ball out in front of him he will play with it to by commands like “bump.” Even though he’s energetic he knows how to settle down and get snuggly as well. He makes a great cuddle buddy because he’s huge. Mason will thrive in a home where he gets plenty of exercise and love.

Story
This sweet, girl was left behind at my elderly grandmother’s home by a cousin who was unable to take care of her. I am helping to find her a home as my grandmother is not able to. She has been living with me and my two dogs and has been a joy to be around. If I didn’t already have two large dogs, I would have kept her in a heart beat. She is a sweet, cuddly, funny dog! You can’t help but love her. She absolutely adores kids and would be a constant companion to one. She is a little unaware of her size, so she would need some work with toddlers and not knocking them over. She also loves other dogs and is ready to play at all times! I’ve never had a dog walk so well and easily on leash. She has jumped a short chain link fence before chasing a squirrel so a privacy fence would be ideal. Besides that she is an easy addition into anyone’s home!

Story
Max came to me from KC Pet Project, and he truly is a wonderful dog. He’s incredibly sweet, smart, and eager to learn—he picks things up quickly and just wants to be part of the family. This has been a very difficult decision. Due to changes in my health, I am no longer able to give Max the stability he deserves. This is not a reflection of him at all—he has done absolutely nothing wrong.Max would thrive in a home that can offer consistency, attention, and a calm, supportive environment. He has so much love to give and will make an amazing companion for the right person or family.Max is currently being treated for heartworms. Heartworms are not contagious, and he is already on a vet-guided treatment plan.

Story
We got Winston when he was 8 weeks from someone who had a large litter of puppies and couldn't keep them. Ever since then he has been energetic, playful, and loving. He is a sweet dog who has lots of energy to run around all day. Right now Winston is 9 months old. We are looking to rehome him because we are having a baby in October and don't think that it would be a good match once the baby gets here. Winston deserves to get the attention and love that he needs and we don't think we would be able to provide it for him. He hasn't had any shots other than his parvo shot, he was sick with parvo once when we first got him but since then hasn't been sick. He is shy around strangers at first but once you play with him he becomes his normal energetic and crazy self. We are looking for a new home that would be a better fit for his energetic nature, and somewhere he could be properly loved and taken care of. Preferably someone who is okay with a very playful and crazy dog.

Story
This gorgeous girl is June Bug, our friend from The Rescue Project. She's a lab mix and about three years old. But more importantly, she's a happy girl is so much fun! June Bug isn't just pretty. She has the smarts, too! She's very willing to work for people she likes (and food, she's willing to work for food). June Bug particularly enjoys showing people that she knows shake with both paws, as she's perfected that skill, and knows she'll get ... food! She likes learning new things, so go ahead and teach her all the fun stuff to help keep her mind busy. June Bug can be cautious around new people and things, but give her a chance and show her you're one of the kind, good humans. She'll love you to the moon and back and show you her snuggly, goofy side. She is worth your time, we promise. June Bug is looking for an adult-only home with a fenced yard, as kids can be loud and scary and apartments aren't going to work for her. She needs to be the only pet in her new home. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more information. June Bug is staying in the KC metro, but transport is available to the right home. #thepetconnection #JuneBug #LabMix #DogTraining #DogLovers #RescueDog #AdoptDontShop #KCmetro #DogRescue

Story
This gorgeous pup is Olive, our friend with City of Raytown Animal Services. She's about 3 years old and is an amazing Chesapeake Bay retriever mix. Is she smart? Oh, yes, she is! Olive knows sit, down, stay, and shake, and she walks perfectly on a leash. She's also calm and loves people, including kids. Olive is working on dog-to-dog intros. She's still a little unsure, but with a slow introduction, she would do very well with another dog. We don't yet know how she is with cats. If you'd like to meet Olive, stop by the shelter at 10312 E. 63rd St., Raytown, MO, during regular business hours, or call the shelter at 816-737-7025.
