Story
If you’re looking for a dog who will adore you with his whole heart and always look at your with heart-filled eyes, Bourbon is your guy! The fact that he is gorgeous on top of that makes him quiet the catch. Bourbon is in a dedicated and loving foster home while he waits for his adoption day. This is a key detail because while Bourbon learns all about the rhythm and rules of home life, his foster gets a front row seat to his personality, quirks and love language. His foster has nothing but praise for him, describing him as a lovebug, while also sharing “he is kind and intuitive and deeply connects to his people. “ Her favorite thing about him being how he just *knows* when you need a little extra love. Bourbon’s love language? Touch. He’ll nudge your arm with his head just to get closer, rest his face on your lap while you work, and gaze at you with those warm eyes to remind you he loves you. Hugs, kisses, belly rubs—he *lives* for them. From looking at him you could almost guess this- although his company and personality are low-maintenance, he does enjoy the “finer things” in life: a good bath, a fresh haircut, a sunny spot to nap in (preferably with you nearby). The last time I spent time with him he smelled absolutely decadent! With your help he will happily be primped and pampered as much as you’d like and the groomer will always be happy to see him coming. He has great leash manners, keeping an easy pace on walks, he loves car rides- favorite destination being a coffee shop that offers pup cups, and he is both house and crate trained! His foster shared that he happily settles into his kennel when its time to relax. Dream boy! Bourbon has a playful side too—he’ll zoom around when excited, do happy dances before heading outside, and stretch out on his back for a good wiggle. With other dogs, Bourbon is polite and calm, while clearly showing he is more of a people dog. He could easily live with other dogs but they won’t be his focus. Same goes for cats, he is polite and respectfully cautious which translates into him being cat-tolerant. Because of his size and excitement, he’d do best in a home with older kids who will enjoy his bursts of energy. A yard to do that in isn’t necessary but would be ideal. His quiet nature and ease on a leash make him a great candidate for apartment life as long as he gets to enjoy regular outings and adventures for his mental stimulation and physical health. If you want a dog who will be your biggest fan, cuddle buddy, and loyal companion, Bourbon is waiting for you. Questions? Email katiak@threelittlepittiesrescue.org Ready to make the first move? You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey! You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!  The adoption fee is $1600 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!  We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.  Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Story
This animal is being cross-posted for private rehoming by its owner. This animal is not in the care of Kitsap Humane Society and the staff at KHS cannot respond to any inquiries about this animal. If you are interested in adopting or leaning more about this pet, please contact rjandrzejewski@gmail.com. Kitsap Humane Society is not responsible for any present or future damage the pet may do to a person, animal, or property. We encourage all prospective adopter to do their own evaluation.Do you have extra love available to offer a dog? If so, Zelda is an adorable potty trained almost three-year-old Goldendoodle (born April 2022) who is looking for a loving new family. She's been raised in a busy home with three school-aged kids (currently ages 9 and 12) and is accustomed to getting lots of love and attention throughout the day. She is crate trained, but is also trustworthy to be left in the house unattended for short periods (a few hours at a time). She enjoys spending time taking in nature in an enclosed backyard and loves being taken on walks on leash and drives in the car.Zelda has received regular veterinary care throughout her life, and is spayed. Her only known health issue is a minor luxating patella on her rear left leg. It does not cause her pain, and realigns each time after a few hopping steps. Because of the luxating patella, we've been advised by her vet not to play active games that require sudden changes in direction (i.e., fetch with a ball or frisbee).Zelda would do best in a home where she's the only pet, or with someone adept at addressing her aggression toward other animals. She is territorial, resource guarding and jealous of attention and affection given to our male Chihuahua. Although very rare, Zelda has also snapped at our kids as a warning when resource guarding (i.e., if they touch/ take her toy or yak milk bone). A new home with kids old enough to be gentle and respectful toward her would be ideal. She can be shy and wary with new people but tends to warm up to strangers fairly quickly.Rehoming Zelda has become necessary due to a health crisis in our family. She deserves to be doted upon and enjoyed. Given the stress and strain we're under, we're not able to give her the best life possible. If you'd like to meet and fall in love with Zelda, please contact me at rjandrzejewski@gmail.com. Primary Color: Gold Age: 2yrs 10mths 2wks
