Story
If friendliness had a face, it would be 1-year-old Felipe’s face. While the 40-pound black-and-white beauty was initially shy, once he warmed up to his fosters, he wanted nothing more than to snuggle and cuddle with them, rest his head on them, sleep on top of them and then follow them everywhere. Preferring to be petted under the chin rather than above the head, Felipe does a fine rendition of the ranger crawl, is fabulously frisky with his doggy foster friends, and politely respects the senior dog’s boundaries. Percolating with puppy enthusiasm and energy, he loves going on walks, zigzagging slightly in his eagerness to meet other dogs, enjoys playing games of fetch, playing with toys, especially balls, and chewing bones. Motivated by food and toys, he currently knows “come” and “leave it,” and is crate-trained and almost fully house-trained. Only just starting life’s journey, Felipe will fit perfectly into a particularly loving home, preferably with another playful dog, and patient adopters who will bolster his confidence, complete his training, including his commands, and keep him content, mentally and physically, fur-ever. See more photos of Felipe here. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.
