0325048 - Meet Sage – Your New Adventure Buddy! Sage is a glorious 3-year-old doodle (maybe labradoodle) who’s about 55 lbs of love, fluff, and fun—with a goal weight of around 60. She’s non-shedding and currently rocking a fresh look as her coat grows back from her recent spay. In just two weeks with us, she’s blossomed from a timid girl into a joyful, goofy pup who’s ready for her next big adventure. What Makes Sage Shine: Sage is a total sweetheart. She lives for belly rubs, scratches, and a good full-body lean into you for love. She’ll try to sneak onto the couch for snuggles (even if she’s not technically allowed), and her playful energy is infectious. She’s been wonderful with other dogs and has a spirited, fun-loving personality. On walks or romps, she’s great on and off-leash—and will come back mid-play if there’s a treat involved. She even handled a much-needed shave like a champ! If you work from home, she’ll happily nap beside you until it’s time for her next play session (which, fair warning, she thinks she schedules). What She’s Working On: Sage can’t contain her excitement when she sees you—mornings and reunions are full of bouncy joy and, yes, some “happy paws on your chest” moments we’re helping her work through. She also tends to follow her people everywhere… so get ready for an adorable, curly-haired shadow! Her Ideal Match: Sage will thrive with an active person or family who’s happy to take her on walks, to the park, or for regular romps. Two to three good play sessions a day make her an absolute gem. She’s already a great dog—but with consistent activity, she becomes a stellar companion. Mornings are her high-energy time, and after a solid outing, she’s content to relax most of the day. She’d love a playful dog sibling and would do well with kids who are big enough to handle the occasional “oops-I’m-55-pounds” bump of excitement. "Sweet Carter is what they call a Double Doodle…don’t know what that is? Us either. A quick google search indicates that is a goldendoodle/labradoodle mix. He’s only 2 years old and came to MHCR after the death of his owner. It has taken him some time to settle in after so much change and confusion. Carter is a beautiful chocolate color with wavy locks and soulful eyes. He is crate trained and house trained. Carter sleeps through the night and would love to have furniture privileges in his new forever home, couches are def the place for him. He is great with other dogs and kiddos. He can be a little standoffish with some men at first so he will need his new family to be patient with him while he gets comfortable and warms up to them. He is free roam trustworthy and has a gentle nature. Carter needs a yard and would be best with another active, playful, dog. He is an energetic boy and loves leash walking! He could even be a running partner!" Ahoy, matey! Avast- meet this fearless crew of pirates. We're Sailor, Ahoy, Matey, Treasure, Anchor, Captain, and Dabloon! We're a bounty and ready to be adopted into our own families. We were dumped alongside the road- but not to worry we prevailed. The shelter isn't sure on our breed but we look to be  Labradoodle mixes. Won't you come and see us, me hearty? If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2358224##
