Born to a stray mother in a rural area, Sophie and her four siblings faced a challenging start in life. Fortunately, they were rescued and have been thriving in a loving foster home ever since. About Him/Her Sophie is a unique blend of playful energy and affectionate calm. She adores her squeaky ball and can entertain herself for hours, showcasing her independent spirit. However, she also cherishes snuggle time with her humans, making her the perfect companion for someone who enjoys a balance of activity and relaxation. This young dog is active and loves outdoor adventures, but once inside, she transforms into a mellow and calm presence. Her foster family has helped her socialize with many people and dogs, but due to her mild resource guarding tendencies, Sophie would do best as the only pet in her new home. She doesn't attack but prefers to keep her toys, treats, and other belongings to herself. Sophie has a mild food allergy and does best on a diet limited to one protein source. When she consumes chicken, she tends to lick her paws, so her current diet avoids it to keep her comfortable and healthy. Are you looking for a loyal, playful, and loving companion? Sophie might just be the perfect fit for your home. With her unique personality and sweet disposition, she’s ready to bring joy and love to a family that understands her needs. Come meet Sophie and see if you’re the perfect match for this special girl! Jindo Beagle Mix | Male | 4 years 8 months(was born in 2019 November) | 31 lbs | Tan with dark brown | Neutered | Vaccinated | *1: Challenging, 5: Great! Good with male adults: 💖💖💖 Good with female adults: 💖💖💖 (1~5) Good with kids: 💖 (1~5) Good with other dogs: 💖💖💖💖💖 (1~5) Good with cats? 💖💖💖💖💖 (1~5) Character: brave, playful, gentle, loyal, curious, funny Vaccination up to date Foster Location: Waterloo Diet info: Kibbles (The honest kitchen Chicken flavor), Beef, Chicken Rescue Story: Youngsil's story is one of remarkable resilience and hope. Born in a bustling shelter with over 1,600 dogs, Youngsil waited patiently for four long years before his turn to be rescued finally arrived. Now this brave soul is ready to embark on a new journey, eager to learn the joys of a normal doggy life, and discover the love of a forever home. About Him: Youngsil is an amazing boy and so very eager to find his forever home and family. And he certainly deserves to find one because he’s brave, smart, sweet, and happy. What’s really impressive about him is how hard he tries to face and overcome his fears (which are becoming less and less every day). One time, his foster family was telling him to sit so they could wipe his muddy paws. He knows “sit” perfectly well, but he also knows when his paws are going to be wiped, so he was really afraid and hesitant to sit. Eventually, he did, but not before he pooped due to stress and fear. He used to do that often, but he’s made remarkable progress over the months with his foster family, and now it’s very rare—it’s an exception, not the norm. But you can’t blame or fault him because you can see in his face and eyes that he’s trying to obey, but he had a traumatic past, and he’s so embarrassed for his mistake. It’s easy to forget those embarrassing moments because he’s normally very happy and energetic. And he LOVES to eat! That makes him really easy to train: he’ll pay attention and do anything for food. (But keep your socks off the ground: he’ll eat those.) When you scratch his neck, he gets a look on his face like “Oh! This is amazing!” He runs zoomies around the yard two or three times a day. He’s good with other dogs. He’s gentle and sweet. He listens and learns. He greets you when you come home. There’s just so much goodness in him. GIven how hard Youngsil tries to overcome his fears, and his innate joy, there’s no doubt that with a little more time and training he’ll stop being a “rescue dog” and become a “normal dog”—beyond normal: he’s going to be a cherished member of his forever family. He’s already an amazing boy, and there’s no doubt he’ll become even more amazing and loving. However, she has never shown any form of aggression or possessiveness when around people. 23. Any past or present health issues? - She was infected with heartworm but was completely cured. No other diseases were found. 24. Rescue story? - Dali was rescued after wandering alone in the downtown area of Seogwipo, Jeju island, South Korea. She was very thin at the time of her first discovery, rather frightened, but she wasn't very wary of people. She was passively chasing after this person and that person as if she wanted someone to rescue her, but when a person showed interest, she ran a little far away and repeatedly distanced herself. At the time of the rescue, I was on my way home after buying a sandwich with my old dog. The wandering dog seemed to need help at a glance, but I had no hand to hold the dog because I held my old dog in one hand and a sandwich in the other. Of course, there was no leash or anything. I moved to the house little by little, saying warm words such as 'Do you want to go to my house' and 'Do you want to eat some food and water?' to the extent that she didn't run away. The dog repeatedly followed me a little bit and then moved away, conflicting between worrying about whether to follow me and wanting to solve hunger and get help. After luring her toward the house for a long time, she finally came very carefully into my door. She drank water as if she hadn't taken a sip of water for days, and she ate feed in a hurry before pouring it into the bowl. It's been a year since I started like that, and now she is doing well both in the house and in the yard, and when people visit my house, she is the first to go out and welcome. But still, when things change a little, she gets scared and hide. It still seems like it will take some time for her to have full faith that the world around her is safe, that no one will harm her, and that only they will love her.
