Story
Meet Mischief ! 🐾 She can’t quite understand why someone would give her such a name when she thinks she is just a sweet adorable little angel. Mischief can’t wait until someone special comes along that she can call her own (and maybe give her a sweet loving name she deserves) This girl never misses a beat. She fit right in immediately and made herself at home with her foster mom and foster mates. She has a wonderful outgoing personality but also just adores cuddles and treats by the fireside and on the couch. 💖 Personality: Goofy, playful and energetic. Hollys has a wonderful temperament and gets along great with all other dogs and any person she meets. Anyone would be lucky to make her part of your life and/or family. She is sure to bring numerous smiles to your life daily. Those ears couldn’t get any cuter. Mischief is going to make a superb family companion and she is ready and waiting to be your new best friend! If you’re ready to give Mischief a lifetime of belly rubs, treats, and a cozy bed, please reach out! Let’s find this sweet pup the forever home she deserves. 🐶💕 Once adopted she will travel via the Rescue Transport to her new family. They travel each and every weekend from Memphis, Tennessee to the north east, delivering pups along the way as far north as West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Transport is an additional $185. If you would like to make this cutie part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application. Our turnaround time is typically less than 24 hours so please be prepared before you submit your application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
Sushi is being fostered in CT. Sushi loves to cuddle and would love to have her own person and family; however she would do best as an only dog so she can get all the love to herself. She travels great in the car and will either sit on your lap for a short trip or in the backseat with a doggy car seat. She is housetrained and will go to the door to let you know she has to go potty. She eats like a champ and takes her insulin well. She also does great at the vet and loves her vet clinic friends. She sleeps through the night and is very easy going. Sushi is not interested in toys but loves to chew on vet approved bones. She loves to sleep on the couch with a comfy blanket, and she uses dog steps to get on. She can safely jump down as long as the floor is not slippery. I have a dog stroller for Sushi and she happily will sit in it and go for a ride or sleep in it when I am sitting at the computer. She enjoys going for short walks and gets excited when you put her leash on! She also does a very funny trot out in the backyard. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
If you're looking for a spunky, intelligent pup with loads of personality and the most insanely cute ears, Erin is the one for you! We are desperately hoping someone out there will fall in love with this little firecracker, just as our volunteers have. She originally came to us back in October from Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC), after multiple adoptions and returns. Sadly, she has repeated that trend with us, being adopted out last fall and returned to SFTS in April. Since her return in April, she has only received 2 applications, and we are noticing her behavior start to change after so many months in the shelter. Erin is a wonderful little Jack Russell mix around 5 years old. She is potty trained, crate trained, and absolutely loves going on adventures. Erin has had many doggy day outs with our volunteers and weekend stays with our fosters, and everyone raves about how wonderful she is away from the shelter and in a home. Unfortunately, when we show her to adopters she acts disinterested, which isn't received well by potential adopters. As is true with many shelter animals, Erin experiences a fair amount of kennel stress, which results in her being a bit overwhelmed during meetings with new people. But when given some time away from the shelter to decompress, she quickly warms up and becomes the most loving, sweet girl with goofy antics. The other major hurdle for Erin is her reactivity to other dogs. She needs to be the only pup in the house, but can easily go on walks and pass other dogs when given enough space. Erin is easily motivated, and smart as a whip. Her reactivity is manageable, especially given her size, but we're sure she will make even more progress with some individualized training outside of the stressful shelter environment. With a dog as cute as her, why would you want to share your attention with another pup?! Our staff and volunteers are noticing a considerable decline in Erin's mental health and general attitude after months in the shelter. Although we provide her with daily enrichment, lots of time in the yard, multiple walks each day, and frequent weekends away or doggy days out, each time she ends up back at the shelter and we fear she is feeling defeated. We need to find an adopter for Erin, and give her the loving home she deserves. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines. If you're interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at sftsrescue.org/adoptableanimals
