Story
Hi, I’m Mona—and yes, I’ve been told I have a smile that could rival the famous painting. But unlike my namesake, there’s nothing mysterious about me: I’m an open book of love, loyalty, and a little bit of mischief. At just 2 years old, I’m a Jack Russell Terrier mix with a heart that beats for my people. I’m what they call a “Velcro dog”—where you go, I go. Whether it’s a walk around the block (which I love!) or just lounging nearby, I’m happiest when I’m close. I weigh in at a sturdy 34 pounds, and I’m spayed, vaccinated, and ready to find my forever home. I do not do well with kids and need to be in an adult-only home. Other dogs? Not really my scene—unless they’re calm, older, and don’t mind my independent streak. I’ve got a playful side too, and every now and then I’ll sneak off with one of the kids’ toys (oops!). So having some chew toys of my own is a must—I promise I’ll put them to good use. I’m currently in Hampton, VA but don’t let distance stop you. For the right home, I can be transported—just keep in mind there may be a transport fee if volunteer transport cannot be found. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a charming grin and a heart full of devotion, I might just be your Mona. Let’s make some magic together.

They had an wonderful human whos life was taken by a family member. We don't know what Casey and Rango experienced but we saw the heartbreak in their sad eyes. Thankfully a lovely woman who was friends with their human immediately went and picked them up. Within a few weeks they started to perk back up almost knowing they would be cared for and loved again. Rango is not bonded to Casey but they have lived together so many years, we are praying they can be adopted together. Rango has a history of seizures. The seizures are not severe or often enough to be on medication. He remains mobile, stable, and does not loose bowel movements during these episodes. We are continuing to monitor and if meds are needed , even after adoption, CCRT will get these meds started at our cost. Rango loves cuddling beside his human and napping. He is gentle and friendly and will make a great family member to almost any household

Story
Meet Creole Girl — tiny, mighty, and full of sunshine.   This precious 3-year-old purebred Jack Russell Terrier may only weigh 12 pounds, but she carries herself with the confidence of a thousand dogs. With her expressive little face and bright, curious eyes, Creole Girl has a way of stealing hearts within seconds—and she knows it. She’s funny, happy, endlessly curious, and always ready to see what adventure the day might bring.   Creole Girl’s world recently turned upside down when her devoted mom was forced to move and couldn’t find housing that would allow her to bring her along. It’s been heartbreaking for them both, and while her mom grieves, Creole Girl is left trying to understand where her person went.   Now, with the help of Critter Cavalry, she’s ready for a fresh start—and what a wonderful companion she’s going to be. Creole Girl is fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative—healthy and ready to go. Even better, she’s the total package: housebroken, great with other dogs, and walks beautifully on a leash. (Cats are still a mystery.) She’s the kind of dog who settles in easily because she already knows how to be a wonderful companion.   And true to her Jack Russell roots, she’s got that fun-loving, energetic spark! A fenced yard would be a dream for this little “energizer bunny,” giving her the freedom to zoom, explore, and burn off that joyful energy she carries in abundance.   But don’t let her playful side fool you—Creole Girl is also a champion snuggler. When the day winds down, she’s more than happy to curl up close and soak in all the love you’re willing to give.   Dogs like Creole Girl are rare. She’s been loved, well cared for, and comes without baggage—just a tender heart that needs a little time to heal. In return, she offers years of companionship, laughter, and that unmistakable Jack Russell brilliance and personality.   She isn’t just a good dog—she’s a treasure.    If you’re ready to welcome this confident little girl into your life, you won’t regret it—not for a second.Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to request an adoption form, and be sure to include your location. Creole Girl is available for adoption in Tennessee and also to select northeastern states, with transport options available to help her reach her forever home.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 7, 2026, 10:27 pm

Story
There’s something so special about Shania — something that can’t quite be captured in a photo. At just 9 months old and 12 pounds, this Parsons Terrier/Westie mix has already been through more than most dogs her age, yet she radiates quiet hope and sweetness. When you first meet her, she may hang back a little, unsure of what to expect. But once she realizes you’re kind, she softens — her tail gives a shy wag, and her eyes begin to sparkle. You can almost see her heart opening up as she learns to trust. That’s Shania’s magic — she doesn’t just love; she chooses you, one gentle moment at a time. Shania loves other dogs and would thrive in a home where she can have a friendly canine companion or calm human friends to help her continue to blossom. She’d do best with older children or adults, as younger ones have been unkind to her in the past. She deserves a peaceful, loving home where she can feel safe and cherished. She’s fully vetted, spayed, and ready to begin her new life — one filled with kindness, stability, and love. Shania’s foster family says everyone who meets her is captivated by her tender personality and soulful spirit. This little treasure is ready to start fresh and discover what it feels like to be truly loved. If you can give her that gift, she’ll return it tenfold. Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to learn more about adopting Shania. She’s in Tennessee and can travel north on one of our weekend transports. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 17, 2026, 12:01 pm
