Story
Meet Luna !! Very sweet and low-key girl that is looking for a lap to sit on. Despite her breed she is not extremely active. She was adopted back in 2021 and sadly her adopter has some significant life circumstances preventing her from giving Luna the life she deserves. I can tell you Luna has been loved so much in her first home. She is ready to share that love with her new family. Luna is an approx 7 year old female Jack Russell mix. She currently weights 10 pounds and is full grown. She is already spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccines. She is heartworm negative. She was a bit difficult for the vet as she has some trust issues with strangers trying to restrain her. She is a very sweet and loving dog once she has a day or two to trust you. She is fearful at first and needs some space. After that she is very good about things. She would love a home that is not gone as often but has been able to handle a foster home where the family works a full day. Just as long as she gets lots of love and attention when you get home. Luna has done okay with smaller male dogs but really doesn’t care much for doggie friends. She is fostered with a male dog her size and does well but doesn’t really want much to do with him. Smaller male dogs that leave her alone would be the best match or a home without other dogs. She does not do well with female dogs. She has lived with cats in the past and done fine. ***The dog in the photos with her is Juno. We also took her back in to rescue. They have lived together however Luna is not always nice to Juno so they aren’t the happiest together*** She would do best in an adult home. She has never lived with kids and really doesn’t like a high energy household. She is fun and playful if you want to take her to do stuff but really likes to just lounge around on the couch with her family. We don’t think she would do the best with young children. Possibly teens that can leave her alone when she isn’t interested in being messed with. We were told she has some anxiety when left home alone and not crated. She has so far done really well crated at her foster home. She has also done great left out in the house to roam all night while her foster family sleeps. She will pull things through the crate and rip them up if she can reach them. Luna does decent on the leash when she is not scared. If she is scared, she will try to stop walking or pull away. She is fine on car rides. She is somewhat potty trained. She has been doing really well using puppy pads inside. She has not wanted to potty on the leash outside but may do better with a fenced yard. She has only had two accidents not on the puppy pads since she arrived and those were on the first day. She has had no trouble sharing food, treats or toys with other dogs or humans. She likes to sit on the couch and watch everything. You need to take it slow with her at first. She can get scared easily and try to bite for a day or two if you push her. After that she will love you and be comfortable with you. She does prefer women but is currently fostered with a male and adjusted to him quicker than we expected. Luna is going to make the right family very happy. She would love a low key home that would give her all the attention. She would prefer no other dogs or kids but may do okay with the right dog and the right age/temperament of kids. She really is a sweet girl that is ready to settle down in her forever home. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (She will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius) ‼️Please message VillageDogResource@gmail.com directly with questions or to get an application.‼️

Story
If you are in search of a loving, yet active little dog, then you have found just the right girl!  Bonnie is a young, one year old, 18 pound, Jack Russell who is spunky and happy and oh so cuddly.  She is the total package of smart, quick to learn, and easy to love.  Bonnie is a little shy when you first meet her, but we guarantee she will warm up fast. She loves to play with other dogs and pull out all the toys at the foster home. And what a cuddle bug she is who longs to be someone’s very special little girl.  She is still working on her house training, but is crate trained for short periods.  No, 8 hour long crate time will work for her.  As you can imagine with an active dog, a fenced in yard would work best.  Bonnie would also love to have her new family home most of the time because she loves her people.  We are recommending that she be with an active family as she loves to see new sights and is ready for travel adventures and car rides.  She is on the go and ready to love you!  Bonnie is your girl if you are checking all her boxes.  Please write to ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.  Please mention where you live:  city and state.  She is currently in Nashville, Tn with Critter Cavalry Rescue and we transport to the northeast on weekend.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 26, 2025, 8:42 pm

Story
Hi there, I'm Boo, a sweet and fluffy mixed breed (maybe Jack Russel Terrier and lab mix) with white fur and tan spots. I'm about 3-4 years old and weigh 55 pounds. I'm neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. I'm also house, and crate trained. I'm looking for a loving and caring family who can give me a forever home. I'm a happy boy all the time who loves to play with female dogs. I am male dog selective. I would do well with children, but I recommend older kids because of my size and energy level. I have not been cat tested but can be if you’d like. I love toys and bringing them outside in the yard to play with. I need some more training with walking on a leash because I get very excited on walks and pull a bit. If you look closely at my photos, you may notice that my front left foot is oddly bent. The vet thinks it was broken and simply healed this way. It doesn’t hurt me or slow me down when I’m having a great time playing. There really isn’t any need to do anything for it. I just wanted to let you know about it. I absolutely adore Zoomies, splashing around in my swimming pool, playing fetch, and getting belly rubs. There's nothing better than a good romp around followed by some quality couch potato time. I'm currently being fostered in Clemmons, NC, but can be transported to other states for my perfect match family. If you think you could be the one for me, please complete an application to let my rescue know you're interested in Boo. I can't wait to meet you and start our new journey together!

Story
Meet Cupid! Cupid is a senior Jack Russell Terrier mix who is looking for his perfect match. Why do we say perfect? Well, Cupid can be a little judgmental of people at first, hence his sassy side-eye of a look he is giving in the photos. Reality is, some dogs can be judgmental at first, much like people can be. Cupid is a dog that enjoys the presence of people he knows and feels more comfortable with. How do you get to that point with Cupid? Patience! Some dogs are quick to make friends and engage with people. Other dogs, like Cupid, prefer people to go slow with him and build trust before you can get to the point of cuddling with him. This is very similar to people, is it not? Well, cuddling may take longer with people, but you get the point. Like Cupid, humans will either be a little cautious of strangers at first and allow slow engagement before fully trusting. Or, like some dogs, people are outgoing and quick to make friends. What we mean is, why judge Cupid for being cautious, when humans are just the same? Cupid has become friends with team members here with patience, lots of treats, and bonding time. They share that Cupid is playful and loves toys, he has silly quirks, enjoys going for walks, and will lay down beside you to be petted and fall asleep. While Cupid may take a little more time to warm up to you, we promise in the end it is worth it! We would love to find Cupid his perfect person! Our staff loves him, but like any animal, he deserves a home to call his, a person to call his. If interested, let us know!

Story
Our dogs are physically located and fostered in North Carlina until they are adopted. Once they are adopted we can transport them to your location or any of our north eastern delivery locations. We have a a very affordable transpoter who comes north every other week. This boy is a Jack Russell mix. He was born 1-4-2023. This boy weighs around 15 pounds and he is extremely social and great with people and other animals except cats. He likes to chase cats. This boy has been started on crate training and potty training. This furbay will go home neutered, current on vaccines, preventives and microchipped. We require a prescreen application to adopt. You can get that on the website at www.saveamuttkennel.net
