Approximate DOB: 8/27/2024 Approximate Weight: TBD I'm a cute puppy still working on housetraining and crate training. I like to chew on everything, play, eat, and then sleep! As a puppy, I am required to go to training within 90 days of my adoption with a certified trainer. ********************************************************************* Visit our website for an application to adopt. https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/adoption-application What breed am I? Mixed mutt! ODHS does not breed label (unless there's official paperwork), as studies show it is nearly impossible to tell the exact breed of each dog based off of their appearance. Educational article: 3/3/3 rule: https://www.rescuedogs101.com/bringing-new-dog-home-3-3-3-rule/?fbclid=IwAR2iv5m7fqk3FieO7LOsstGeGsYYV_F1rJOd1BPxaImofLpcinpYsUbFRWs Adoption Donations are $275 for an adult, $375 for puppies (a dog under one year of age), and $175 for a senior dog (based on the age of the dog). More "sought out breeds may have a higher adoption donation) Adoption donations are to be made via cash, or credit/debit card. There is a $5 fee to run cards. We do not accept checks for adoption fees. Please remember to bring a martingale collar and leash (non-retractable) with you the day of the adoption. We typically have adoption events on Wednesdays 5-7pm, Fridays 6-8pm, and Saturdays 11am to 3pm. Our adoption center is located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Suite 101, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. It's important that you keep an eye on your emails for any changes or updates during the adoption process. Old Dominion Humane Society is a volunteer based organization. We are run completely by volunteers, who also have full time jobs, so we appreciate your patience. Currently, the average timeframe for a response to your application is 1 week. Story
Lady is a 12-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix with a heart of gold. Though a bit shy at first, she’s incredibly sweet and affectionate once she’s settled in. She came to our rescue from another shelter in southwest Virginia, along with her companion Sophie, and is now searching for a quiet, loving home where she can enjoy her golden years in peace. Lady would thrive in a calm, low-stress environment, ideally with no young children. She’s not one for loud noises or chaos, but if you’re looking for a loyal and gentle friend who loves to relax in the sun and take leisurely walks, she’s the perfect match. Lady’s favorite pastimes include basking in the sunshine and going on strolls to explore her surroundings at a comfortable pace. Though she’s a little reserved at first, once she feels safe, Lady is an incredibly sweet companion. She’s up to date on her vaccinations and will be spayed and microchipped soon, ready to start her new chapter. If you’re looking for a quiet, low-key buddy to enjoy your days with, Lady might be the perfect fit. Come meet her and see if she’s the one to add a little extra sunshine to your life.

Story
My name is Mandy and I am 10 years old, I am used to living with my mommy but she needs to go into memory care and is no longer able to take care of me. I am a shy girl but I do warm up to people, I am very loyal to my mom, so I can be loyal to you. I am pretty low key, I don't require a lot of activity but I do love to take a walk. I like to sleep under a chair or the bed or sometimes on the bed. I only go on the furniture when I am allowed to. I am looking for someone who just wants to be with me, I don't need a lot of care, just food, water and a walk. I will probably do better with someone who is older since that is what I am used to. I am up to date with my rabies vaccine.

Story
Oreo is a bit shy and insecure. He's sweet with people he's met but can take a while to warm up to people. Oreo does have some resource guarding, but we're working through that. Oreo came into the rescue with his brother Moco. Both have high prey drives and like to chase anything from bees to cars so they can not go to a home with small animals or children. Neither has had much as far as training goes, but both are pretty quick learners. They are crate trained, although they prefer not to be in them, the foster parent has left both in crates while at work and they do well. They both pull while on leash, but do well with gentle lead head collars. They have been on hikes and enjoy those! They love to be outdoors and to explore. They know sit, but do not stay very well. The foster has been working with both with basic manners, although we think they'd learn quicker in separate homes. They feed off each other, not in a good way. Most of us wish the dogs that come into our care could stay together, but sometimes it's better for the dogs to be separated in order to live a happier, healthier life. If these two where adopted together, adopter would need to be very experienced. Together or separate, they'll need some continued basic obedience training. With their physical and personality traits, we believe these boys are a Jack Russell, Corgi and Bully mix. We adopt within 100 miles of Waldorf, MD. If interested please fill out an adoption application www.rescueangelssomd.com. All dogs receive vet care before adoption, including spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, Heartworm/Lyme/Ehrlichia 4DX snap test, deworming, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and microchip. Indoor homes only and we expect all dogs to be family members. Adoption fee applies and adoption application required.

Story
Our Popeye may not have superhuman strength (like the cartoon character), but he sure has super canine cuteness! He is basically like a canine toddler, who finds everything you do fascinating, so he wants to be a part of it. He enjoys other dogs to play with, toys to chew on, walks, with you by his side, and any and all attention you offer him. He is a true lap dog and reserves the right to yours every evening. This puppy is crate trained and house trained already. Sleeps through the night. His happy place is by you on the couch or your bed. If you are interested in this most adorable bundle please let us know. Thank you for your interest in Popeye! Please visit www.hart90.org/petdetail.aspx?ID=17582 to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on this pet, to email the contact person listed for more information and how to meet Popeye, or to submit an online application.
