You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Did I catch your eye? Learn more about me by reading my profile below; I just might be your new best friend! Apply on our website ( https://www.healingheartsrescue.org/adopt )  to  set up a private meeting or check below for my adoption event schedule.   Age: Approximately 5 years old Weight:  Dog friendly: Yes, requires on in the home Cat friendly: unknown, not tested Kid friendly: older kids only Potty trained: Yes, good on a schedule  Crate trained: No, does not like the crate    Izzy is a very smart, playful and goofy typical JRT in so many ways. Once Izzy has chosen you as her person, she is very loving and protective. Whether you are getting home from being gone for hours or just getting out of bed from 2 feet away from her, she will let you know just how happy she is to see you with her extremely fast wagging tail and little love grunts as she dances around you. Izzy LOVES her toys. She typically likes to carry her miniature hedgehogs around in her mouth as she goes about her day, inside and outside. She seems to really enjoy car rides and is usually very quiet and calm until you get to your destination and then she ready to go. Izzy loves walks and sniffing and for the most part can be easy to take on walks until she sees other dogs and then her protective side comes out and she is quite reactive. Izzy is a huge fan of routine and change can be hard on her. Izzy's past has clearly taught her that people can be scary but with patience and time she is slowly learning to trust. Izzy currently has two foster siblings (a male Shih Tzu mix and a female Beagle) and does well with them. Izzy does best with a calm companion dog that she can take cues from to help her with her anxiety. Izzy can be one of the most rewarding and sweet dogs that you would ever meet if she's given enough time and patience. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $275 plus tax  Meet Bertrand (Bert for Short): The Sweetest Nap Buddy! Hey there! I’m Bertrand, but you can call me Bert! I’m a gentle soul on the lookout for a loving family to share my days with. At 5 years old, I’m a mild-mannered pup who loves nothing more than a good nap on a comfy couch.  I’m proud to say I’m housetrained and crate trained, and I promise to be on my best behavior when left uncrated. I’m also a fast learner, so I’m ready to pick up new tricks and be the best companion ever!  I’m motivated by treats and positive verbal responses; I love it when people call me a good boy. I get along fabulously with other dogs, making me a great addition to any family with furry friends.  My awesome foster family has a super chill cat who’s used to meeting new pups, so it doesn’t mind when I bark or sniff around! But I do love to chase things that run, so I’d be happiest in a home without any cats that might get startled.  And sometimes I get so excited that I jump so a house without really small kids might be best.  I love to play outside with older, more sturdy kids though! If you’re looking for a sweet boy who enjoys chill days filled with cuddles and the occasional playtime, I’m your pup!  I can’t wait to meet you!     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
Meet Milo, an adorable 13-year-old senior dog! Milo and Daphne came into rescue as their previous owner passed away. Although he might be a bit older, Milo still has lots of love and affection to give to his forever family. He would be the most successful in a home with no cats, dogs, and with a fence, preferably a privacy fence. He does not jump fences, but does bark and growl at other dogs so it would be best if he does not have to interact with other dogs. Milo is the perfect companion for someone looking for a more low-key, yet affectionate dog.He loves to cuddle and snuggle. He is used to being alone at home. Milo is very loyal and will stick by your side through thick and thin. He would do best in a calm and quiet home where he can take life at his own pace. Milo may have a hard time getting along with other dogs, but he's sure to steal your heart with his charming personality and loving nature! He is not a fan of fireworks and thunderstorms so he does have an anti-anxiety medication he takes as needed. *More information and photos added over time. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application at http://legendsrescue.org/index.php/adopt/forms/ FOSTER CARE: Our rescues are fostered in individual homes or at our facility. We work hard to ensure that our rescues have a supportive family while at foster homes to help them move forward and get ready for their forever home. We work on training, crate-training and socialization before a dog is adopted out. Foster homes are extremely important to the success of the cat at their forever home, and it is extremely rewarding to be able to watch the cats growth as you help them on their journey to their happy ending. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please fill out our application at http://legendsrescue.org/index.php/adopt/foster-application/ YOU CAN HELP: If you’re not able to foster or adopt right now, please consider sponsoring a Legend. Story
Meet Robert: Your new best friend! Age: Estimated 2 years Weight: 13 pounds Breed: Terrier mix Robert is a gentle soul looking for his forever home! This sweet little guy hails all the way from Mexico and has quickly adjusted to his new environment. He loves everyone he meets, making him an instant favorite among friends and family alike. Robert is great with other dogs and would thrive a canine companion to help build his confidence and keep him company while his humans are away. He's not super vocal but enjoys barking at his furry friends when he wants to play, making a delightful addition to any home. This charming pup does wonderfully on a leash and loves to explore the great outdoors. He's also a great conversationalist - ready for some deep chats during cuddle time! (Not that he says much, but he's all ears while you share your deepest secrets...) Robert enjoys snuggling up in bed with his humans and is well-behaved outside of a kennel, especially with companions around. Robert loves toys and playtime but prefers a more relaxed approach - no zoomies! He's the perfect candidate for visits to public places, where he can show off his good manners and friendly personality.  If you're looking for a perfect-sized, loving companion to share your life with, Robert is ready to steal your heart! Get your application in today to see how fits into your family and get him home before the howlidays! If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please an Adoption Request Form. Story
Hello, world! My name is Squirtle, and I’m a sweet little guy looking for my forever home. Right now, I’m feeling a bit under the weather with kennel cough, so I’m taking it easy and enjoying some cozy snuggle time. But don’t let that fool you—I have a playful spirit that’s just waiting to shine once I’m back to my healthy self! A Little About Me: Friendly & Social: I love meeting new people and making friends! My tail wags for everyone, and I can’t wait to share my affection with my new family. Dog Friendly: I get along well with other dogs and would love a furry companion to play with, but I'd also be totally fine as an only dog; more attention for me! Cuddle Bug: Snuggling is my favorite pastime, and I’m always up for a warm lap to curl up on. Ideal Home: A fenced yard would be perfect for me while I learn to walk on a leash—don’t worry, I’ll get there! I seem to be mostly house trained, but I’m still learning the ropes. I don’t have any experience with cats, but I’m a gentle soul, so I might be just fine! If you’re looking for a lovable companion who’s ready to shower you with affection, I’m your guy! Let’s make some great memories together. Once I’m all better, I can’t wait to explore the world by your side! Ready to meet me? Send a message today!
