Story
Meet Milo, an adorable 13-year-old senior dog! Milo and Daphne came into rescue as their previous owner passed away. Although he might be a bit older, Milo still has lots of love and affection to give to his forever family. He would be the most successful in a home with no cats, dogs, and with a fence, preferably a privacy fence. He does not jump fences, but does bark and growl at other dogs so it would be best if he does not have to interact with other dogs. Milo is the perfect companion for someone looking for a more low-key, yet affectionate dog.He loves to cuddle and snuggle. He is used to being alone at home. Milo is very loyal and will stick by your side through thick and thin. He would do best in a calm and quiet home where he can take life at his own pace. Milo may have a hard time getting along with other dogs, but he's sure to steal your heart with his charming personality and loving nature! He is not a fan of fireworks and thunderstorms so he does have an anti-anxiety medication he takes as needed. *More information and photos added over time. You can contact us through our website at http://legendsrescue.org/index.php/contact/ or visit our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LegendsRescue/ if you have further questions or would like to schedule a meet and greet. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application at http://legendsrescue.org/index.php/adopt/forms/ FOSTER CARE: Our rescues are fostered in individual homes or at our facility. We work hard to ensure that our rescues have a supportive family while at foster homes to help them move forward and get ready for their forever home. We work on training, crate-training and socialization before a dog is adopted out. Foster homes are extremely important to the success of the cat at their forever home, and it is extremely rewarding to be able to watch the cats growth as you help them on their journey to their happy ending. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please fill out our application at http://legendsrescue.org/index.php/adopt/foster-application/ YOU CAN HELP: If you’re not able to foster or adopt right now, please consider sponsoring a Legend. Your donation will help with our care and pay for medical costs. Visit this link http://legendsrescue.org/index.php/donate/ to donate.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $275 plus tax  Meet Bertrand (Bert for Short): The Sweetest Nap Buddy! Hey there! I’m Bertrand, but you can call me Bert! I’m a gentle soul on the lookout for a loving family to share my days with. At 5 years old, I’m a mild-mannered pup who loves nothing more than a good nap on a comfy couch.  I’m proud to say I’m housetrained and crate trained, and I promise to be on my best behavior when left uncrated. I’m also a fast learner, so I’m ready to pick up new tricks and be the best companion ever!  I’m motivated by treats and positive verbal responses; I love it when people call me a good boy. I get along fabulously with other dogs, making me a great addition to any family with furry friends.  My awesome foster family has a super chill cat who’s used to meeting new pups, so it doesn’t mind when I bark or sniff around! But I do love to chase things that run, so I’d be happiest in a home without any cats that might get startled.  And sometimes I get so excited that I jump so a house without really small kids might be best.  I love to play outside with older, more sturdy kids though! If you’re looking for a sweet boy who enjoys chill days filled with cuddles and the occasional playtime, I’m your pup!  I can’t wait to meet you!     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
Meet Robert: Your new best friend! Age: Estimated 2 years Weight: 13 pounds Breed: Terrier mix Robert is a gentle soul looking for his forever home! This sweet little guy hails all the way from Mexico and has quickly adjusted to his new environment. He loves everyone he meets, making him an instant favorite among friends and family alike. Robert is great with other dogs and would thrive a canine companion to help build his confidence and keep him company while his humans are away. He's not super vocal but enjoys barking at his furry friends when he wants to play, making a delightful addition to any home. This charming pup does wonderfully on a leash and loves to explore the great outdoors. He's also a great conversationalist - ready for some deep chats during cuddle time! (Not that he says much, but he's all ears while you share your deepest secrets...) Robert enjoys snuggling up in bed with his humans and is well-behaved outside of a kennel, especially with companions around. Robert loves toys and playtime but prefers a more relaxed approach - no zoomies! He's the perfect candidate for visits to public places, where he can show off his good manners and friendly personality.  If you're looking for a perfect-sized, loving companion to share your life with, Robert is ready to steal your heart! Get your application in today to see how fits into your family! If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please an Adoption Request Form. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Tuesday is a petite puppy with a zest for life and a love for everything and everyone!  This little gem was possibly left at a gas station and found by an Uber driver in Kingwood, TX.  Despite her rough start, Tuesday's spirit is as bright as her name. She’s a friendly pup who considers all humans her friends and gets along well with big dogs, small dogs, and adults alike. Tuesday is full of energy and loves to play fetch, splash in the water, and romp around with her favorite toys.  She’s leash trained, crate trained, and does well in the car.  This little bundle of joy is eager to please, intelligent, goofy, and incredibly affectionate. She adores lap time and demands her fair share of love and attention. This moldable and smart pup is ready to find her forever home where she can continue to grow and share her love. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, and energetic companion, Tuesday is the perfect match for you! Tuesday is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 11/15/2024 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am - noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame.  Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Stickers, the young Jack Russell terrier mix who’s as lovable as he is goofy! This sweet guy is friendly, affectionate, and loves to play with other dogs, but he’d be just as happy in a home where he’s the center of attention. Stickers is mostly potty trained, leash trained, and crate trained, and he rides well in the car. He’s a playful, intelligent pup who’s eager to please and always up for a game of fetch or tug with his favorite toys. Like any puppy, he’ll need some guidance with chewing, but his gentle nature and adorable antics make him irresistible. Stickers has just the right amount of puppy energy, balanced by cozy naps in the funniest positions (usually on his back!). He’s not a big barker—only speaking up if another big dog gets chatty first. If you're looking for a funny, loving companion who brings instant joy, Stickers is looking for you!   Stickers is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 11/15/2024 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Buck, a 2-year-old Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix with a big personality and even bigger heart! This confident little guy is potty trained, has basic training, and knows his way around a leash and crate. Buck does well in a car and loves to play, making him an ideal adventure buddy. He’s an affectionate lap dog who enjoys snuggling, especially at night when he can burrow under blankets with you. Buck has a playful, independent streak and loves to show he’s the boss when he’s out with other dogs. He’d thrive as an only dog, but he’s also adaptable around other pups as long as boundaries are clear. Intelligent and confident, Buck will bring lots of love and companionship to a home that appreciates his lively spirit and cuddly side. If you’re looking for a loyal friend who’ll make every day brighter, Buck might just be your perfect match!   Buck is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 11/15/2024 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. One big thing you should know is they are heartworm positive - but please don’t let that scare you away from adopting them! After they undergo treatment for their condition they will be completely healthy again, and heartworm is not a contagious disease. Because they need treatment, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) program. Click here to learn more about this program. They will get heartworm treatment at one of Ruff Start’s partner veterinary clinics in St. Cloud, so their foster will need to be comfortable getting them to and from the appointments. Treatment will consist of three injections: the first will be roughly 30 days after they enter rescue. Then, the second and third injections will happen 30 days after the first. When they are undergoing treatment, they should be on activity ‘restrictions’ which just means they should relax in their crate or cuddle with you.   Click here to learn more about heartworm disease, which is transmitted by mosquitoes. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
