Story
Sugar is a little white terrier mix who is a senior dog but is still playful. She loves toys and carrying around her balls. She has no interest in chasing a ball; she just wants to carry it around and show it off. Sugar is currently in a foster home with other dogs including her friend Caleb. Sugar and Caleb were surrendered together from the same home, but they do not need to be adopted together. Although they do get along great, and Caleb loves to follow Sugar around the house. So, they would make a great pair, if you are looking for a duo that you already know get along well together. Sugar is very comfortable in her foster home and does well with the other dogs and also with kids. Sugar is completely potty trained. If you are looking for a chill, yet still playful dog that isn't super high energy, but is active, Sugar is the girl for you.  ##2649311##

Story
Dante is a small guy with a lot to say. He came to us with a sister who has now been adopted, so he is looking to find his person now. He did ok playing with his sister, Skittles, but he will likely need to be the only dog in the household. He does bark at other dogs and gets a little bit fiesty when they are walking by him. However, he is very loving with humans. He will sit on your lap and soak up the attention. Dante will need a patient adopter who can spend time with him to make him feel comfortable, so that he can show his lovey side. We hope that you will give Dante a chance.  ##2400035##

Story
We are seeking a special home for this special needs girl.  Stephie is a 3-year-old terrier mix with a heart full of love and a tail that’s wagging 95% of the time! She’s a happy, affectionate girl who thrives on connection and absolutely adores being close to her person. Whether she’s rolling into you for cuddles or waking you up with joyful snuggles, Stephie is all about love and companionship. She enjoys playing in a backyard with other dogs (after slow, proper introductions) and would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard.   While she can walk on a leash, she’s still working on her leash manners and will benefit from continued training. Stephie is a sensitive soul and needs a patient adopter who understands that she can be slow to warm up to new people. Once she trusts you, though, her affectionate personality truly shines. She does not do well with loud noises or raised voices, so a calm, quiet home is ideal. Because of this, she would do best in a home without children. Things to know about Stephie: She may resource guard bones She should not be crated or confined New experiences and introductions need to be slow and positive She requires pee pads due to diuretic use Stephie does have some medical needs. She is currently on anti-anxiety medication, although her foster hasn’t observed signs of anxiety. This means they are either working or she doesn't need them!  A veterinarian will help determine her long-term needs. She also has a grade 6/6 heart murmur and will require ongoing medication to manage her condition. Despite these challenges, Stephie is an incredibly special dog who will reward the right person with endless love and devotion. She truly is worth the effort   Stephanie's adoption fee is $200. She is fully vetted for one year, spayed, microchipped, and on monthly preventatives. Once approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet. Approved adopters should be ready to take Stephanie home within 1–3 days of application approval. We do not accept electric or underground fences. All dogs and cats in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on core vaccines and preventatives. Adopters must live within 1 hour of Elkhart, Indiana. Story
Pip is a 9-month-old, 15-pound sweetheart who came from a breeder/hoarding situation and has blossomed beautifully in his foster home. He has a naturally calm, gentle temperament and is not the wild, high-energy type. He has lived with his littermate, Pauley, his whole life and they get along wonderfully, but Pip does not need to be adopted with his brother. He has the personality and confidence to flourish in his own home, and adopters should not feel obligated to take both boys. If you are interested in adopting both, the combined adoption fee is $495. Individual adoption fee is $295. ABOUT PIPPip is the more sensitive, submissive sibling. He is a gentle little guy who warms up beautifully with kindness and routine. He loves being held, enjoys affection, and is learning that the world is a safe place. He thrives with patient people who speak softly, move kindly, and give him time to settle in. TRAINING AND HOME LIFEPip is adjusting wonderfully to normal home life. He enjoys being outside, running in the yard, and relaxing inside with his foster family. He is still working on housetraining and will need continued patience, supervision, and consistency as he learns a new home and routine. He currently uses a pet door in his foster home, which has helped him understand that potty happens outdoors. Like most puppies his age, Pip is still in the chewing stage and needs supervision. For his safety, he must be kept in an approved puppy playpen anytime he cannot be directly watched. A puppy pen provides a low-anxiety, safe space for him and helps him learn appropriate habits while keeping him secure. Pip cannot be left home for long periods. As a young puppy, he needs the companionship, structure, and reassurance he did not receive in his previous home. He is still learning, still chewing, and still building confidence, so he needs adopters who are home more often to provide guidance and support. PIP IS:- Vet-checked- Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations- Dewormed- On heartworm and flea preventatives- Neutered- Microchipped ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:- A fenced-in backyard suitable for small/medium dogs (no invisible fences)- Someone home more often for companionship, training, and supervision- No crating; adopters must use an approved puppy playpen- Children age 7+ (younger considered case-by-case)- Homes with no dogs or up to one small/medium dog PLEASE GO TO OUR WEBSITE TO SEE HIS VIDEO AND TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION:www.indianasaveadog.com  ##2681160##

Story
Rocky is 9 months old and weighs about 20 pounds, with a little extra chunky monkey charm. He is very sweet, quiet, and naturally submissive. He is incredibly loving and people-oriented. Rocky is a Shortie Jack Russell with an easy, adaptable temperament. He can run and play if you want activity, or he can relax and be a couch potato if the day is quiet. He adjusts to the pace of the home and is not a high-energy terrier. Rocky currently uses a pet door in his foster home for potty breaks, which has helped him understand that potty happens outdoors. Even without a pet door, this foundation makes his transition easier, but he will still need patience, supervision, and continued training as he learns your home and routine.
