Story
Hi, my name is Charley Feeny and while I'm the happiest buddy now, before my Underdog days I had a pretty rough go of it. I used to have a loving mama, but one day she went away, and I found myself living with a person who did not like me very much. He was not feeding me or even letting me in from the cold. I wandered off and a nice lady found me. I showed her where I lived and she took me back, but the man said I was a stray and even though I barked and barked, he would not let me inside. The nice lady took me to a shelter. They said I was a hospice senior, and I that I was on the urgent rescue list. Fortunately, the staff really liked me, so they reached out to Underdogs, who sent a new mama to pick me up. My new foster home is so nice. There are other dogs to play with, I am allowed to curl up under the covers whenever I want to and there is lots of healthy food and treats to eat. She took me to the dog doc and she told her that I was neither neither a senior nor a hospice dog. I tried to tell everyone that, but apparently dog docs are more trustworthy. As it turns out, I am only about 6 years old and though not being fed regularly and neglected overall was hard on my kidneys, proper food and some medicine have been healing them nicely. I now weigh thirteen pounds and am looking perky and am the most handsome scruffy terrier and miniature poodle mix.  I love the fenced yard at my foster digs and I especially love going for walks in the morning. New foster mama put an open crate in the living room so I can go in there any time I need time to myself. I also like toys to play with. One weekend we had lots of company, including a 12-year-old girl and extra dogs. Mama said she was so proud of how I behaved.  She tells me that we are looking for my new forever family, someone that will take me for walks, feed me well, love me and help me feel secure again. She says that I will do best with adults and older children with dog experience. I love dog friends, but the kitties are not my most favorite.  If you're interested in adopting Charlie Feeny, please fill out an adoption application here: https://underdogsrescue.org/adopt-form/ Underdogs is a small volunteer-based animal rescue and we unfortunately do not have the resources to respond to phone and email inquires about our adoptable animals at this time. Story
Jack is a 3-4 year old, 24lb Terrier Mix.  We are guessing he is a Jack Russel Terrier mix but we cannot be sure since we don't know his history. Jack was found wandering the streets with another dog in Kansas.  It was not the first time they had been picked up by animal control...or the second...or third.  Their owners clearly did not care enough to keep them safe at home, and eventually didn't even care enough to pick them up from the shelter.  Jack is super loveable and cuddly and will sit in your lap all day if you let him. He will follow you everywhere like a shadow. He’s also very timid and submissive and flops on his back when you approach him. If you are interested in adopting Ruffles, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com Jack is super loveable and cuddly and will sit in your lap all day if you let him. He will follow you everywhere like a shadow. He’s also pretty shy at first and a very submissive love bug. He flops on his back when you approach him...and loves belly rubs!  He is such a sweet little guy with one of those demeanors and personalities you can't explain until you meet him.  He gets along great with other dogs and all people, but would rather be snuggling and hanging out with his humans than romping around with the other dogs.  If you are interested in adopting little Low-Rider Jack, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2299974##

Story
Bambi is a 3-4 year old Terrier Mix weighing about 10-12lbs.  Bambi came from New Mexico where she was surrendered with 3 other dogs after her Momma passed away and there was nobody else to take care of them.  The other family members were going to dump them at the overcrowded shelter in the area, so one of our rescue partners brought them in and asked us if we could them here in CO.  Of course we didn't want these sweet pups in a high kill shelter, so we agreed to take them here.  Bambi is a sweet little girl with the longest legs.  She gets along well with other dogs and all people.  Big dogs make her a little nervous at first, but she does warm up given time.  She is learning to walk well on a leash although it seems she has probably never gone on walks before coming to us.  She loves to seek out attention and snuggles.  She is such a little love bug and really just wants love from her humans.  She would do great in a home where her human wants to continue expanding her world, but will also be patient with her and wants a dog who is okay with movie/lazy days.  She is a pretty amazing little girl and just needs a forever family of her very own. Story
Tiffany is a 1 year old Terrier Mix weighing about 8lbs.  Tiffany was surrendered to one of our rescue partners when her Momma passed away and her and the other 4 dogs in the home were slated for the high kill shelter in the area.  We knew these sweet pups could find wonderful forever homes here in CO while also avoiding the terrifying experience of a shelter they may not make it out of.   Tiffany has been in CO for a couple weeks now and she is ready to find her forever family.  She is a sweet little girl.  She gets along great with other dogs and people.  She is a little nervous of the resident cat, but is learning he isn't that scary...it could be because she is smaller than him.  She is a little nervous at first around new people but within minutes she warms up and wants lots of love and snuggles.  She does well with the fosters kids too.  She is a great little dog and just needs a family who will love her unconditionally.  She is very snuggly and loving and will need someone who also wants a loving, snuggly companion. Story
Debs is a spunky little girl!  She is a young puppy and her forever family will need to be ready for all things PUPPY!  She will be an energetic dog and will need mental and physical stimulation.  She is a herding breed mix so a family that understands the tendencies of these breeds and is willing to put in the work that will set her up for success!  Her mom is about 25 lbs, shorter legged and scruffy (maybe a terrier/corgi mix) and Debs takes after her with her short stack legs, it is SO CUTE.  We are not sure what dad was, but a best guess is the heeler mix you see.  Debs is a fun spunky gal with a lot of love to give, come meet her!  ##2234667##

Story
Are you looking for a pint-sized bundle of energy and love to brighten your life? Look no further—Daisy is here! This charming little gal is a 2-year-old Jack Russell / Rat Terrier mix (our best guess!) who weighs in at just 14 pounds of pure cuteness. From Daisy's foster: "So much good progress with little Daisy! She was pretty confused / timid at first, but sharing the bed helped her bond and feel more secure. She is house trained but I don’t believe anyone ever put a leash on her and she definitely doesn’t know how to go on a walk. But we are practicing in the back yard and she is gaining experience. She is more secure and coming out of her shell more each day! She is cat friendly too!" We don't know if Daisy has had any formal training. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young dog whose self-esteem will fly high while she masters her skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Our training requirement is to help every adoption be successful. At Farfel's Rescue, we believe in setting both adopters and dogs up for success. That’s why we offer a one-week trial period with every adoption. This allows you to make sure Daisy is the right fit for your family before making a lifetime commitment. Should it not work out, we offer a refund of the adoption fee within the trial period. Daisy has been fully vetted, is up to date on her vaccines, and spayed. If you’re interested in adopting Daisy, please be sure to fill out our Farfel’s Rescue adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. PLEASE NOTE: If you're truly interested in Daisy, submitting our Farfel's Rescue adoption application is essential. Applications from other sites like Petfinder or Adoptapet don’t provide enough information for us to determine a great match for this very deserving pup. We appreciate your understanding! Let’s work together to give Daisy the loving home and happy life she deserves. Thank you for choosing rescue!
