Story
Meet Keebler, a 10-month-old Husky mix. He now weighs around 25 pounds, but we expect him to mature to around 40 pounds. He wears a medium-length chocolate, tan, and white coat and peers out at the world through one blue eye and one green eye. This handsome boy gets along great with other dogs, but we are unsure of how he feels about cats. Keebler is an active dog and loves to run around in his kennel. He does great on a leash and will follow you around waiting for pets. Adopt Keebler and let him fill your life with love and joy! (ME, 12/8/24) Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **February 7, 2025, 4:02 pm

Story
Weaver is a playful pup with lots of energy. He loves to go to the play yard and play ball and run around. He can get a bit mouthy when he gets over stimulated but has never been aggressive. He seems to be dog friendly and a dog test will be required. We believe he is either a Husky/Akita mix or a white Akita. We are unsure of him with cats and due to his possible breed we strongly suggest using extreme caution as he could have a strong prey drive. He walks well on leash and knows some basic commands as well. He would do best in an active family that will take him on adventures to help with his high energy and to keep him engaged with various activities. We feel he would do well with kids that are older as his size and energy level could get the littles knocked over on accident. We do want the kiddos to come to the meet and greet to make sure everyone is comfortable. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.Interested in adopting? Story
Dante is around 2 1/2 years old and just as sweet as they come. We do not have much history on him due to how he came to us. He has been super loving with everyone he has met here at the shelter. We will consider adopters with knowledge of the breed first. He will do best in a home with an active family to help him get his energy out in the appropriate manner. A family with older kids and the understanding that huskies have a super high energy level and can be nippy when overstimulated would be the best fit. He rides well in the car. We are unsure of him with dogs and a dog test will be required. Due to his breed we think a home with no cats would be best as they tend to have a very high prey drive. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.Interested in adopting? Story
Buddy is a husky/pit mix and is around 1 1/2 years old. He is very energetic and loves to go on walkies and is good on leash. He loves his toys and playing with his humans and is respectful and gentle. He is also vocal and loves for his humans to howl with him. He has not been around any other dogs except his brother and a dog test will be required to see how everyone gets along. He is house and crate trained. He will do great in a family with kids as he loves all humans big and small. He will do best in a home with no cats. He is a total lap dog and just wants to hang out and get all the lovins. He is microchipped, neutered and up to date on vaccines. Interested in adopting? Story
Kimber is an 8 year old Shepherd/Husky mix. She was rescued by me when she was only a puppy. She is crate trained, current on shots, micro chipped and lifetime registered. She lived for many years in a home with other dogs and did well. She loves attention and at 8 years old still enjoys walks/playtime. I am unfortunately forced to get rid of her due to circumstances in my personal life.

Story
https://foha.org/pet/chaucer2022/ Hi all! I'm Charming Chaucer! I have to admit, I am quite handsome! And I do have a pretty fun and charming personality. I am also very smart and a quick learner. I already know sit, down, paw, and I'm working on mastering roll over. But I'll happily roll over for some belly rubs! I am full of energy but I'm very loving. Some of my favorite activities include playing fetch then cooling off in a pool. I may be fast, but slow and steady is the way to win my heart. I do need slow introductions to new people and other dogs, I do play well with dogs I already know. And I love my favorite volunteers and FOHA staff with all my heart. I would do best in a home without cats. I need to be in a home with a very patient owner that is very experienced with huskies! I will do best with no kids in the home as well. If you're ready for a life full of love (and dog hair) and you're willing to give me the time to show you all the great things about me, then submit an application today so we can meet!

Story
https://foha.org/pet/janis2023/ Meet Janis J, a shy and beautiful husky mix who is looking for a loving and patient home. This sweet dog has had limited exposure to humans in her early life and needs someone who can help her overcome her fears and gain confidence. Janis J is a stunning dog with beautiful brown eyes and a soft, fluffy coat. She is very shy and nervous around people, but she is slowly getting to know her voice and is learning to trust the people around her. Due to her fear of humans, Janis J needs to be placed in a home with no children and a confident dog who can help her feel more comfortable and show her the way. While she is still too shy to start obedience training, Janis J is doing great with her potty training and is making progress every day. She needs someone who is patient and understanding and who can help her build a sense of trust and security. Janis J is a sweet and loving dog who is just waiting for the right person to come along and show her the love and attention she deserves. She needs someone who is willing to take the time to build a relationship with her and who understands that she may need time to adjust to her new surroundings. If you are looking for a special dog who needs a little extra love and attention, Janis J could be the perfect match for you. She is a gentle and loving dog who is just waiting for the right person to come along and show her that the world can be a kind and loving place. With patience, love, and a confident dog friend, Janis J has the potential to become a happy and well-adjusted companion who will bring joy and happiness to your life.
