Story

Meet Ally, a stunning 4-year-old Husky and one of our Wanju meat farm survivors. Ally’s bright and cheerful personality shone through even in the toughest conditions. She is incredibly social with people and warms up to strangers instantly. If you give her a little attention, she’ll roll over and show you her belly! She adores humans, including children, and loves being touched and held. Picking her up is no problem at all—she’s all about that human connection. When it comes to other dogs, Ally is friendly and enjoys playing, even with new friends. However, she can get annoyed with overly energetic or pushy dogs and values her alone time and personal space. If another dog challenges her, she isn’t one to back down. Because of this, Ally would thrive either as the only dog in her new home or with a calm, low-energy companion who respects her boundaries. We haven’t had a chance to observe Ally around cats or birds, so her reactions to them remain unknown. With a moderate energy level, Ally loves outdoor activities but also appreciates her downtime afterward. She’s a big fan of cozying up in her house or hammock and thoroughly enjoys relaxing in her own space. On walks, Ally’s curious and loves exploring, which sometimes results in her pulling on the leash to go her preferred way. That said, she’s manageable and calms down as the walk progresses. She’s enthusiastic about her outings but settles nicely once she’s had her fill. Ally has excellent manners when it comes to food—she doesn’t guard her meals from people or other dogs. She’s not prone to barking and doesn’t exhibit separation anxiety. She’s also well-behaved in a crate and potty trained outdoors. Despite her challenging start in life, Ally greeted everyone at the dog farm with a wagging tail and bright eyes. I was physically abused by my previous owner, who broke my leg and forced me to live outside in the cold of Nunavut. Thankfully, a kind neighbour stepped in and saved me. I’m now happy, safe, and all healed and healthy! I am a Husky mix, small in stature at 30 lbs, so everyone calls me “mini Husky”. But everything else about me is HUGE: my love for everyone around me, my playfulness, my friendliness, my resilience. 5 yo Axel and his sister Canada were rescued by their foster mom from a backyard breeder, and it was clear that they have gone through a lot in life. They are now looking for their forever home, where they can chase each other and play in a fully fenced yard. Axel is.50 lb and Canada is 60 lb. They are very calm and quiet husky -malamute pups, They are great with strangers and love getting petted. They both enjoy being outside and going on car rides. They know the leashes very well. They get very excited, so they will pull when walking them. They need a home with active lifestyles and plenty of time. They know to shake before going into the house. They know their beds. They know to sit before taking a snack. They both enjoy being outside chewing on a rawhide-free toy under the sun. I know they’re huskies, but they do like sun-bathing. Canada is the female black and white Siberian Husky. She is about 60 lbs. She enjoys lower back scratches and being brushed. Canada likes to watch and stare at anything you do. She is a curious girl. She is still hesitant about humans. So please be easy and slow with her. She likes to start by smelling your hands. I guess that’s her way of knowing if their evil hands or good hands. She does not do well with children of all ages, just adults. She doesn’t mind meeting other dogs. Axel is the white malamute/husky mix. He is about 50 lbs, and he is a jolly boy. He will greet anyone with a big grin, a wagging tail, and the happy energy that only a husky can emanate. He will sit with his back against your two feet and wait for pets. He is smart. He knows the drill. Once you have a routine, he will get it quickly. He likes to get on furniture. His personality is lively. He is a toy hogger. He likes to have access to all the toys. He doesn’t like meeting other dogs. He prefers to only play with his sister, Canada. He loves getting his belly rubbed. He enjoys cuddles, too. These two need positive reinforcement after what they have been through. They deserve a chance to live the other half of their lives being huskies. Canada and Axel both really have the best of hearts. They just need love. They are fully vetted, fixed and chipped. They would do good with anyone with previous husky experience. They are bonded, so they have to find a home where they can be adopted together. They are both heartworm negative and is kept on heartworm and flea preventative. The pups are being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, and even Canada for the right home. Harley and Shelbey are twin girls. They are doing well in their foster home and are good with other dogs - big or little. They are good with people and are well behaved on leash and off. They are in great health, spayed and up to date on shots, weighing about 27 kg. They like to go for walks and adventures, and ride well in the car. They are housetrained as well. ``According to their foster it is at the dog park that these girls really shine. They like to run, wrestle and get along well with other dogs. Although they are still a bit nervous of strangers, they are coming along and are very affectionate to those they know. Inside the home, they are quiet, tidy, not destructive and generally calm. Of the two Harley is the one that most loves a good walk and to run around. Although they are good with other dogs and each other, they do not need to be adopted together.
