Story
Here in Canada come meet him Name: Rainbow (20220510-03) Weight: 25 kg / 55 lbs Age: 4.5 years Gender: male Spayed/Neutered: Yes 5/03/22 Breed: Husky mix Colour: cream Neck size (for collar): Height (from top of head): Length (from nose to base of tail): Crate size recommended: L to. XL Good with women: yes Good with men: yes Good with kids: older children Good with other dogs: selective - will do best with females and calm males Good with cats: unknown House trained: not 100% but getting better Crate trained: yes Energy level: med/high - energetic Can be handled/touched: yes Barker: no Flight risk: maybe Food aggressive: Yes - once he learns that he will have constant meals this should subside Current food: Pulsar Walks on leash: yes but is a puller Leash reactive to people or dogs: may react to unknown dogs Rides well in car: yes, in crate Destructive: no Needs a home with a yard: yes Needs a home with another dog: should be only dog for now Can live in an apartment: no History: Came from Norway House. He spent his life tied up outdoors and is still getting used to being an indoor dog. Additional comments: Rainbow is a beautiful husky mix that was rescued in Manitoba. He has since travelled to Ontario in search of his forever home and is dying to meet you! Poor Rainbow was chained for most of his life and was attacked over and over again by neighbourhood dogs. Because he was chained he had no way to run away or defend himself from these attacks and has suffered some trauma because of this. He will need very slow introductions to other dog, and does best with females and calm and submissive males. Rainbow is an absolute sweetheart and loves people. It is so evident that he knows he’s been saved and is so thankful in the way he acts toward his humans. He just wants to cuddle and give love. He was recently groomed and was such a good boy! We are looking for a home for Rainbow that understands that he will be fear reactive toward dogs that he does not know, and are willing to work with him and show him that not all dogs are bad and that he will never be hurt or attacked again. Living in a home is still new to him, but he is making amazing progress with his housetraining! He is great in the car and loves car rides. His foster mom is confident that he will be very easy to train, he just needs to learn what is expected of him. Rainbow may show a bit of food aggression in the beginning, only because he was starved and had his food stolen by other dogs. Once he learns that he has a constant food source we are very confident that this will subside. We know his person is out there, do you have it in your heart to take a chance on him?

Story
Butterfly (Luna) was found as a stray in a remote area of Manitoba and brought to the shelter by local police. She loves people of all ages although she definitely seems to prefer women. She loves being called a good girl. She is working on her training and very rarely has an accident in her crate. She is learning to walk on leash but still needs work on pulling. She does get scared when large trucks drive by and will pull to go see people and other dogs but in a friendly manner. Her favourite activities are playing fetch and cuddling. She is an energetic girl and loves to play with other dogs but can play rough. She will resource guard toys from other dogs but not food. Coming from a remote area she has never had her own toys so they are very high value for her. She enjoys her crate when it has comfy blankets inside and a blanket draped over top to feel safe. Luna is a friendly active girl who loves car and boat rides. She would make a great running or adventure partner for an active person or household. She really is a sweet girl and is going to make an amazing companion!! Story
Meet Eclipse – a stunning, resilient, and loving Husky ready to find her forever home! This beautiful girl has a heart as big as her striking blue eyes. After surviving on her own and raising a litter of puppies, she’s now embracing the joys of love and companionship. Eclipse has blossomed into a sweet, affectionate, and playful pup who adores neck rubs and soaking up all the attention she can get. She’s great with other dogs and loves playing and running around, making her an ideal companion for an active home. She also does well with children, showing her gentle and loving nature. True to her Husky spirit, Eclipse enjoys adventure and would love a family who will include her in outdoor activities. Eclipse has medium energy, meaning she’s just as happy zooming around the yard as she is relaxing with her favorite people. She’s eager to continue learning and is looking for a family who will guide her with patience and love. If you’re searching for a loyal, affectionate, and absolutely gorgeous best friend, Eclipse is the one for you! She’s ready to start this next chapter of her life—could it be with you?

Story
Meet Ella! Ella is a fun-loving girl who is always ready for an adventure. She’s playful, curious, and thrives when given a task, even if she’s still figuring out how to follow commands. Her zest for life is infectious, and she’s sure to bring excitement to any home! Ella’s favourite activities include zooming around the backyard, destroying stuffies, and playing tug-of-war. She also enjoys staring out the window, keeping an eye on the world outside. She’s incredibly social and friendly, greeting everyone she meets with enthusiasm (sometimes a little too much—she’s working on keeping all four paws on the ground!). She hasn’t met children in her foster home, but given her gentle nature, she would likely do well. When it comes to other dogs, Ella is eager and enthusiastic, sometimes a little too persistent if the other dog isn’t as interested in saying hello. She would do well with a tolerant dog sibling, especially one that can help her learn social cues. She hasn’t met cats, but she has a curious interest in small animals like birds, squirrels, and rabbits, though she gives up the chase quickly. Ella is house trained and walks well on a leash, though she can pull when something exciting catches her attention. She’s comfortable napping or eating in her crate with the door open but hasn’t quite adjusted to being crated with the door closed. She also has a bit of a mischievous side—she loves to gently mouth hands for attention and will happily help herself to your plate if given the chance! The perfect home for Ella would be with an active family that enjoys outdoor adventures and has the patience to help her continue her training. She would love a dog sibling to play with, but she’d also thrive as the centre of attention in a home that keeps her engaged. Think you might be the right fit to provide a loving home for Ella?
