Story
Meet Ginn (short for Ginger) – a stunning 2.5-year-old male Husky with beautiful blue eyes and a heart full of love! Ginn's original parents had to leave the country, and I’ve been fostering him for a few months. Unfortunately, due to my travel plans, I can’t keep him but he’s a lovely boy looking for his forever home! About Ginn: ✔ Neutered, healthy, and fully up to date on vaccinations ✔ Potty trained & house trained – no accidents, no destructive behavior ✔ Crate trained – feels safe and secure in his crate ✔ Loves to play tug & is very affectionate – he’ll be your best friend in no time! ✔ Great for a home with space – A home with a fenced yard would be preferred. Ideal Home: Ginn just needs a family who loves her and wants to cuddle and play. He does not like to be crated alone and would like to lay on the couch when home alone. What Comes with Ginn: He comes with all his belongings, including his crate, toys, grooming kit, and more—everything his original parents left for him.

Story
Hi, my name is Timber,Neutered MaleHusky x German Shepherd Mixapprox. 5 years oldI'm a delightful pup brimming with love and charm. Currently, I am one of the longest term residents at the Georgina Animal Shelter, eagerly awaiting my forever home. When I first arrived, I was anxious, scared, and showed signs of resource guarding. However, I've made remarkable progress and have grown a lot over the past year. I'm your typical fun loving dog who enjoys spending time outdoors, whether it's smelling the lovely flowers or catching snowflakes. Lately, I've also shown a growing interest in playing with other dogs and showering everyone I meet with big, affectionate face kisses. In February, I will participate in a three week board and train program with a well known local trainer in Georgina. During this time, we are able to facilitate meet & greets with those interested & approved. Given my background, I would thrive in a home that understands resource guarding and is committed to continuing training to help me improve. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.JANIN hails from the northern community of Pikangikum and was part of our Heart Litter who came south to find their forever families. She’s had her first 2 sets of vaccines, a microchip, dewormer and been deemed a healthy girl by her vet. We have no information on either parent so the breed she is and the size she’ll grow to be is just a guess. This happy, friendly little girl is a perfect combination of snuggles and energy. She loves being around her people and playing with her many dog toys. JANIN is crate trained and will sleep quietly in it at night and also take naps in there during the day. She’s really good at using the bathroom outside and has very few accidents in the home but if she does go there is newspaper by the door that she’ll use. It’s still a work in progress though as she’s not at the stage to ask to go outside yet. She loves to go on walks and like all puppies, she excitedly runs ahead of you. She’s at a chewing stage right now as she’s teething so she has several chewy toys plus Nyla bones to keep her busy. She has no food aggression at all but does quickly so she has a slow feeder to slow her down as she eats. She knows a few basic commands and will sit for her meals and take treats “gentle.” She’s a very smart girl and picks up very quickly on commands. JANIN’s ideal family would be an active one who loves the outdoors, going on hikes, walks and will take her on an adventure or two. She’s meet a few dogs and has got on well with them so she should suit living with another one. She hasn’t met a cat but if a dog is cat savvy and with a slow, monitored introduction she a home with a cat or another dog but would do equally as well in her home provided she wasn’t left alone for long periods of time. Children should be aged 6 and up and she does require a fenced-in yard. Puppies are cute, playful and fun but also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We need her adopter to take her for puppy obedience/training to help her become a well mannered and good girl. Her spay is included in her adoption fee and her potential adopter must be in agreement to have her spayed by the time she’s 6 months of age. It will be at the Barrie SPCA but you can use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it there. We do need it to still be performed by 6 months of age and we need a copy of the invoice and a picture of her (preferably in a cone or onsie after the after surgery) in order to receive the reimbursement.  If JANIN sounds like she’d suit your home and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet her.       Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 14, 2025, 10:37 pm

Story
Name: North Age/Sex: Dec 2023/F (Will be spayed by rescue) Breed: Husky x GSD as per previous O Weight: ~45lbs Medical Needs: Rear toe amputated due to infection. Doing great! Does not affect ability or function. Good with: Dogs! Kids! Dog savvy cats with training! NO DOG PARKS It's time! North is now ready to find her forever home! This fun, fiesty sweetheart is ready to take over the world, and she hopes you'll come along for the ride! She's definitely more husky in size and personality, than shepherd, but she's a whole lot of fun! North is very active, and looking for a home that's going to keep up with her. She loves to use her nose, and has strong chase and prey drive. She also loves to pull, and would love a home that will get her involved in Canicross, Joring, or even Sledding! She's super social, outgoing, and very environmentally sound. She's never met a stranger, and she would love a home with another canine companion to wrestle with (though not required)! I do believe she could live successfully with dog savvy cats, with proper training. But cats outside the home are going to be fair game. True to her husky ways, she loves to climb, and scale anything and everything, so a proper secure yard is a must! North arrived in great shape, but unfortunately had a freak accident in the yard zooming around and got a stick poke in her foot. The initial antibiotics didn't work, and she ended up having a resistant form of bacteria that unfortunately persisted, and we ended up losing the whole toe. It has been amputated, she has successfully healed, and it does not slow her down in any way, shape or form! It is the outside toe on her back left foot. It just means you now have one less nail to trim ;-) She's still capable of performing any and all sport type functions, so please don't let this dissuade you from considering this fabulous girl! She truly makes friends wherever she goes, and it's going to make the right family very happy! If she sounds like the right dog for your home, please get your application in today! Story
Meet Heeah! Hey, future family! I'm Heeah, a 5-year-old Husky/Jindo mix with a stunning tan and white coat. I might be 15 kg of fluff, but I've got a heart full of love and a playful spirit that's ready to bring joy into your life! My Story: I came to the shelter with another dog, wearing a bright orange collar that matched my sunny personality. Now, I'm searching for a forever home where I can share my affectionate nature and unique charm with a family who'll appreciate all the love I have to give. Why I'm Special: Affectionate & Friendly: I'm all about the cuddles! Whether you're an old friend or a new face, I'm quick to warm up, rubbing against you and happily accepting all the pets. Once I'm comfortable, I'll even roll over and show you my belly-who can resist that? Playful Pooch: I love meeting new dogs and always approach with a friendly wag and a playful invitation. Just keep an eye out if there are toys or snacks involved-I might get a little protective. But don't worry, I'm learning to share! Outdoor Enthusiast: I enjoy my time outside, whether it's a brisk walk or a playful romp. I've got plenty of experience on the leash and follow along nicely without pulling. After a fun day, I'm happy to relax and enjoy some quiet time with you. Calm & Composed: I'm well-behaved in a kennel and prefer to keep my business outside. I'm also pretty quiet, only growling a bit when I need to protect what's important-like you! Pretty & Unique: With my mix of Husky and Jindo traits, I've got a look that's as unique as my personality. I'm active and playful, with a friendly nature that makes me a great companion for anyone looking for a loyal friend. Heeah's Dream Home: I'm looking for a family who loves outdoor adventures as much as I do but also appreciates a calm and affectionate companion at the end of the day. I'd do well in a home where I can be active, meet new friends, and maybe even have a cozy spot to curl up in after a fun day. If you're looking for a playful, loving dog who's ready to fill your life with joy, I'm your girl! Ready to make Heeah a part of your family? I can't wait to meet you and start our journey together! Let's make every day a new adventure filled with love, fun, and lots of belly rubs. With Love, Heeah For more videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIsLTtIpe3JxvFkvf6u_h-IpjpQ7u8SkL ##2260913##

Story
Spike here! I'm a fun-loving, rambunctious Akita mix with energy to spare! I love to run, play, and wrestle, especially if I have a dog buddy to join in on the fun. I've lived with other dogs before, so I know how to share my space, though I do like to be the center of attention! If you're looking for an adventurous, playful pup to keep you on your toes, I'm your guy. Let's go on some wild adventures together!. I would be best suited to a home with no small children as I am not aware of my size and could knock them over by mistake. I am full of endless energy and have a big personality. I have a heart full of love to give. If you are interested in adopting me please fill out a adoption profile and send it to Orillia@ontariospca.ca Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 36 Age: 1yrs 7mths 0wks
