Story
Juneau is a spunky lady who doesn’t act her age at all! She’s bouncy, active, and will be very vocal when she wants your attention. She truly has the cutest “aawwwoo”. It melts our hearts every time we hear it! Her beautiful blue eyes draw everyone in. Juneau is so friendly and gentle with all people, especially small children. Unfortunately, Juneau was surrendered to us after her furry sibling passed away. She became quite anxious and was having accidents in the house, so her family did not want her anymore. Juneau was extremely underweight when she came to us, and is now slowly gaining weight. Juneau is looking for a family who is home often as she has separation anxiety and will cry if left alone for long periods of time. Her family will need to be patient and be willing to work on her house training and accidents. She would do best in a home with no other dogs or cats.

Story
Luna is a chill but spunky senior girl. She was surrendered to us due to some medical complications that have since been resolved. She likes to bask in the sun, and also enjoys relaxing in the snow. She truly loves to be outside enjoying the fresh air. Luna is a vocal girl who likes to howl and "talk" to her people. She makes us laugh every day with her bossy quirks .Luna is looking for a quiet home. She can be protective of her space occasionally, and will need time to slowly warm up to new people. Luna's family would need to come to Dog Tales for frequent visits before bringing her home, in order to help her transition to her new family. An experienced adopter with no dogs or children is Luna's ideal family.

Story
Yogi is an active, outgoing husky mix. This one-year-old boy gets along well with most dogs and enjoys roughhousing with them. He loves playing with toys, especially tug-of-war with other dogs or his humans. Fetch is not his thing; he would much rather be chased. When not playing, Yogi is an affectionate boy who loves to give kisses. Yogi has been through obedience training and knows basic commands such as sit and down. He will work for treats! Yogi is working on his leash manners and does better with a transitional lead or halter rather than a regular collar. He is both house and crate-trained. As a husky cross, Yogi is very vocal and will sing along with huskies on YouTube videos and will let you know what his thoughts are by vocalizing. He is not a big barker unless a stranger approaches the house. Yogi has an advanced prey drive so he would be better in a home without any cats or other small animals. He came from a loving home but kept chasing the homes existing cats. Despite training, the situation couldnt be corrected. He has a sensitive tummy and needs food for sensitive stomachs. Apart from that, Yogi is up to date on his vaccinations and is neutered. Yogi would do best in an active household. He is a young mix of Husky, Greyhound, Malamute, Saluki and German Short Haired Pointer - all active dogs. He's been good with all kids he's met, but hasn't been tested with babies or toddlers. If you are interested in adopting Yogi, please fill out an application at https://pawsaboverescue.ca/dog-adoption/   Please visit our website www.pawsaboverescue.ca to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Story
JAX Located in Newmarket, ON Hi, I’m Jax! I’m 5 years old, a male husky mix weighing 45 lbs. I’m microchipped, vaccinated & fixed. Some words to describe me: HAPPY GO LUCKY – I am an upbeat guy who wags his tail pretty much anytime I’m not asleep PLAYFUL – I am silly and love to play EVEN-TEMPERED – I tend to go with the flow, not much bothers me Here’s what you need to know about me: Yes, I’m very cute but please take the time to read my bio – there’s some great information here! My foster family thinks I am a special boy. I like to be around people, children, cats & dogs, but I am also independent and okay on my own. I really like to play! I love stuffies the most and enjoy walking around with them in my mouth. I’m quite content throwing toys around on my own and I also love when the humans here join in and play tug of war or fetch with me. I am not crate trained. My foster mom tried really hard, but my past makes me really nervous. My foster uses baby gates to keep me safe when she is busy. I enjoy spending time outside. I love long hikes in the woods. The car is my favourite! My house training is going perfectly. I might have a few accidents at first adjusting to a new home, but will be good in no time! (I’m super smart) There is a cat in my Foster home and we are good friends. I live with two other dogs that I love playing with all day. I live with 5 children (3-13) and I really like them all. I wag my tail so hard when I see them that my bum moves too! I’m a really good good boy with a sweet temperament. If I sound like a good fit for your family, please apply for me, Jax! Story
GRACE Female / Husky Mix / ~6-7 years old / 67 lbs Is she good with dogs & kids? GREAT with all ages of KIDS and other dogs. (not a fan of other farm animals like sheep , rams or pigs.) Does she have a prey drive? She is protective (of her puppies) and always aware of her surroundings. She will go after or fake charge at something if she views it as a threat. House trained? YES Crate-trained? YES/NO She was definitely a street dog or farm dog. She really doesn’t like to be caged up or locked in. She has tried multiple times and has been successful to get out of the crate. Long story short she doesn’t like to be cooped up. We got her a big comfy bed for inside, but she doesn’t use it. She loves being outside, she prefer to sleep either on the wood chips, under the deck with her head sticking out or on the grass. Leash-trained? YES - amazing on leash. I even have them walking together on a split leash and she is great. Quiet or a barker? She is quiet. The only time I’ve heard her bark was because she felt threatened. (Barking at the backfield, probably a deer) Energy level? Low energy level while inside or hanging out outside. She likes to just lazy around. She does enjoy a good cuddle. She really likes it when you tell her she is a good girl and praise her. She LOVES to run, open spaces and being able to explore. We go for long walks daily and she just runs around. Personality? Very sweet, definitely loyal. Her demeanour is fantastic. She is not intimidating when meeting new people, she is just super laid-back. Currently located in Bracebridge, ON but transport can be available if needed. She is vaccinated and microchipped, dewormed and had flea/tick/heartworm preventive - spay will be completed a few weeks after she’s done nursing. She’s available to go home with you on or after June 8. You can find my form “ Rescue Dog Adoption Application” at: https://form.jotform.com/211694512438255 Adoption fee is $500

Story
Pogo is a  &#226&#128&#139neutered male husky mix who is a  sweet, kind, and goofy boy. He loves people, dogs &#226&#128&#139 and cats as long as they are introduced in a  respectful manner. He is 4-5 years old and approx. 80 pounds Pogo's favorite pastimes include playing fetch, rolling in grass, playing with his ball like a cat, trying enrichment toys, honing his inner husky by playing in the snow, howling to share his excitement outside, and getting attention from his favo &#226&#128&#139u rite humans. Pogo is a husky mix so there is a lot of shedding but he is great for brushing. Nervous but accepting of bathes and nail trims. Routine brushing with an undercoat rake and comb will help control the hair plus full grooms/blow outs twice a year. Pogo currently has basic obedience like sit, down, come, touch, chin rest, beginner heel positions, beginner stay, speak, uncued check ins and more. Currently learning confidence building skills and impulse control for his fears and insecurities. Going out to explore and even just sitting outside, he loves it. He does great on walks practically anywhere including dog friendly stores, busy streets, and crowds but definitely prefers people leave him be unless he goes over to say hi. Pogo isn't fully comfortable with surprise pets or loud/rambunctious people but  &#226&#128&#139his foster mom  is working on it! &#226&#128&#139  At home, he enjoys playing but very easily settles until his next adventure! Dietary wise, Pogo is sensitive to a lot of proteins so making sure of any food, treats, chews, enrichment,  etc. Is closely monitored and strict. He does love lamb, fish and sometimes pork which he can have. Pogo is super sweet and definitely a sensitive boy. He will need someone with patience, understanding, and endless love. He would love a fenced in backyard but is used to apartment living and does fine with enough walks and &#226&#128&#139 stimulation      Pogo is a  &#226&#128&#139neutered male husky mix who is a  sweet, kind, and goofy boy.
