Story
Meet Skye, a super sweet and lovable Husky who’s sure to capture your heart with her gentle nature and playful spirit. Skye loves spending time looking out windows, as it brings her comfort and allows her to observe the world around her. She’s a big fan of belly rubs—just wait for her to flop onto her back and give you the perfect invitation to scratch her belly! She’s not shy about asking for affection and will soak up all the attention you’re willing to give. Skye’s previous owners shared that she’s great with other dogs and loves being around kids. She has a gentle and loving nature, making her an ideal companion for families. Skye is also an adventurous soul who LOVES to explore, so a leash is a must when you're outdoors. She’s treat-motivated and takes treats gently from your hand, making training a breeze. Skye knows commands like "sit," and "down," and has good recall skills, making her an obedient and responsive companion. We are unsure how Skye will do in a household with cat friends. Skye will thrive in an active household that will keep her engaged and allow her to explore the world safely. Whether it’s outdoor adventures, playtime, or simply relaxing with some belly rubs, Skye will always be by your side, ready to enjoy the moment with you. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate, and adventurous pup who loves attention and exploration, Skye is the perfect match for you! *If you are interested in adopting please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
Zirah is a sweet little husky mix who is coming up on her first birthday and her only wish is to find a home to call her very own.   Zirah is extremely timid and was not well socialized to people.    She has a strong prey drive, so can't live with cats or small dogs.   She loves dogs her size and bigger (she is just 35 lbs) and is learning how to "dog" a bit more each and every day.   She will run if not contained, and hasn't been well acclimated to a leash, so definitely will need a fenced yard.  She is a smart girl, and is catching on to housebreaking.   She is still mouthy, but not aggressive.  But for this reason, and her tendency to jump on people, a home without young children is needed.  For the little bit we had snow this year, she loved it!   Zirah is a gorgeous girl who has all the potential in the world, but she needs a human who will be patient with her and teach her good manners. In return, you will have her loyalty and love, and the immense reward of seeing her blossom right before your very eyes.   Zirah is eligible for our foster to adopt program.   If you think you might be a good fit, please send us a message.  If you don't already have an application on file, please to go out website and fill one out!  www.newleashdogrescue.com ##1983299##

Story
They say that a picture is worth a thousand words…and Latte’s “before” photos will do just that. This incredible boy tells a story of true resilience, as he overcame a life of neglect. At 2 years old, our guess is that Latte never knew a single day of love before his arrival to rescue. The loss of fur, the malnutrition, the scabbed up, raw, itchy skin, the skin & bones, the stench, and the intense desire for human attention…they all tell of a brutally painful past that this boy had to endure. And while he cannot communicate the specifics to us, his physical condition told us all we needed to know. Latte needed love. ‍ And while his “before” snapshots will break your heart…we are happy to report: Latte is safe in a foster home. He is loved. He is getting care. He is doing SO.MUCH.BETTER!!! AND! He is now ADOPTABLE!   Latte is an insanely sweet and GOOD husky mix boy. He is 2 years old, and weighs-in just under 50lbs. He is still a bit underweight, so is looking to put on a few additional pounds! Latte is looking for a home where he can be the only dog! He was obviously deprived of food before coming to rescue, so has some food security issues around other dogs (which we simply can’t blame him for). So he’d love to be your one & only pup. He is currently being fostered with 3 cats and has no problems with them! However he does need to be kept out of their food and litter area, as otherwise he will clean them out! Latte LOVES attention, and he loves cuddling. He would sit/lay in your lap all day if you let him! He learned to sit for treats very quickly (he’s a smart boy!), and should be quite easy to train using positive reinforcement + plenty of yummy treats. He walks well on a leash, uses a doggie door, and is housebroken (win!). He is still in the late puppy stages, so does tend to jump up in excitement and do some play biting. Because of this, we’d say a home without super young kiddos would likely be best. Making sure that Latte gets plenty of exercise and mental stimulation helps keep his hops + play nibbles to a minimum! He is still learning to play with toys (which is seriously the sweetest thing to see), but currently prefers chews of any sort. A major bonus: he will keep your floors crumb-free! He sleeps in a crate at nighttime, but needs to be coaxed in there a bit. He'd much rather sleep with his person (& be with them ALL the time!). He loves to drink water, but doesn’t like getting wet. He really likes to ride in the car, and has been very good when meeting new people. He just loves attention! Latte’s skin continues to heal [from 2 years of malnutrition], so it still makes him a bit red and itchy. This has improved greatly in just a few weeks, and will continuously improve with a good diet! All in all, he is such a lover, and deserves nothing but love for the rest of his days. If you’re the one who’s able to do that for our boy, please apply + reach out via private message. Just ask for Latte! APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!)  **Latte’s $200 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. ##2213094##

Story
Are you the one? Please read my whole bio. Hey there, hoomans of the internet! My name is Pancho, and I would love more than anything to find my forever home. I'm looking for an experienced owner and a specific environment that fits my needs, but I just know that there is someone out there with a heart big enough to take a chance on me! My foster mom says that when I'm with the people I trust, in the safety of my home, I'm gentle, loving, goofy, well-behaved, a great listener, and the biggest snuggle bug. She's a little biased but she says I'm destined to be some lucky person's heart dog. Here's what my ideal home looks like: * Experienced Dog Owner Required: Someone who can read my body language, manage my interactions with other dogs and people, and who understands my quirks and can provide the structure I need. * Selective Dog Companions: I'm picky about the other dogs I interact with and I need a family who respects my boundaries. I can get along with some submissive dogs and I love, love, love puppies, but I resource guard around other dogs, and I don't back down from a confrontation, so I need owners who are attentive and responsible when I'm around other pups. * No young children: I require a home without young children. Tweens and teens are okay, as long as they respect my boundaries. * Fenced Yard Required: I am reactive towards other dogs when I'm walking on the leash, and I have that classic husky prey drive. Because of this, it's not always possible for me to get all the exercise I need through walks. I need a home with a fenced yard so that I can run and play and have zoomies to help get my energy out. * No Apartments: due to my reactivity towards other dogs, and distrust of strangers, I am not suited for an apartment. I know that I come with a lot of requirements for my new home, but for the right person, I promise I will be worth it!! Here's a bit more about me: * I've Got Skills! I'm potty trained and know lots of commands, and not just the basic boring ones! I love to learn and mom has taught me to roll-over, spin, weave between her legs, heel (as long as there isn't a squirrel around), "wait" for a treat that's in front of me, and more! I'm also crate-trained, but you don't need to crate me because I am a perfect gentleman and I can be trusted to free roam while my humans are away. I am left alone for 8-10 hours three days a week and I never get into trouble! * I'm Active: I love outdoor adventures like hikes, jogs, splashing in the water, and going for car rides. "Car" is my favorite word and I get so excited when I hear it! I'd be a great running partner, and I'm your perfect adventure buddy. I'm still working on my short-leash skills - it's really hard not to pull when the rabbits and squirrels in the neighborhood are taunting me! But I love when mom takes me out on my long line to go exploring and sniffvestigate to my heart's content. * I'm Playful and Goofy! When I'm around people I trust I am the biggest goofball and I love, love, LOVE to play with my stuffies! My favorite toy is my rainbow that has lots of little unicorns living inside. I love to take them out and have mom throw them for me. I don't rip my toys or destroy them, I just love to squeak them, toss them around, and snuggle them when I'm sleepy. I have a silly personality that never fails to make my hoomans laugh, and I will always make your day brighter with my hilarious antics! * I Love Kitties: I came from a home with many cats and I would love to have a kitty companion in my new home. I have been tested around several cats in my foster home and I've proven that I know how to be gentle and careful around kitties and give them the space they need. I also respect when they tell me to keep my distance with a whack to my nose ;) * I Have Guardian Instincts: I take my role as protector seriously, so I'm best suited for someone who values safety and wants a loyal companion. I would be a great companion for a woman who wants to go on solo walks, hikes, and/or runs and feel safe while doing so. * I'm Muzzle-trained: My muzzle is a great tool that helps keep me and any strange dogs or humans I interact with safe. I'm trained to go for long walks with my muzzle on, so I can go places where an off-leash dog might run up to me. Mom also uses my muzzle to introduce me to new people, as I get really nervous when strangers reach their hands towards me and sometime my fear gets the better of me and I snap at them. I warm up to most women right away, and while I'm more distrustful of men, with some extra time and patience I will come to love them too. I thought my foster grampaw was pretty sketchy when we first met, but now he's one of my favoritest hoomans ever! Once I've decided someone is my friend, I am completely trustworthy around them without my muzzle - the only threat is lots of slobbery kissies! To recap, I thrive with a slow introduction to new people and dogs. My ideal family will cherish my loving nature and help me maintain boundaries with strange dogs and humans and respect my need for a calm and structured environment. And of course provide me with lots of stuffies and a lap that is always open for cuddles! If you're an experienced dog owner who's ready for a loyal, goofy, and loving companion, let's meet! My foster mom says she would adopt me in a heartbeat, but then she wouldn't be able to help more dogs like me down the road. She wants you to know that taking a chance on a dog like me and putting the work in to make me feel at home is one of the most fulfilling things a pawrent can do, and if you take that chance it will change both our lives for the better! I've been waiting over a year for someone to see my potential...are you the one I've been looking for? Story
Meet Shadow: The Sweet and Snuggly Senior Husky! Shadow is a lovable, funny, and affectionate senior husky looking for his forever home to enjoy his golden years. This sweet guy is house and kennel trained, but he's earned the privilege of free roam in the house-and he's been doing absolutely fantastic! He gets along great with other dogs, including smaller ones, and loves spending time with kids. Shadow is a social butterfly who enjoys being part of the action. Whether it's lounging on a cozy, soft dog bed, playing with his favorite toys, or joining in on family activities, he's always ready to be involved! He LOVES car rides. Shadow has a playful side too-he's even serenaded us with a few of his own husky songs! He's also a fan of walks and fun adventures, although, with his extra fluff, his activity and snacks should be limited (though he might not agree). If you're looking for a typical husky with a hilarious personality, a love for cuddles, and a big heart to share, Shadow is the perfect companion for you. He deserves a loving home where he can spend his senior years surrounded by the love and comfort he's always dreamed of. Adopt Shadow today and enjoy the warmth, humor, and joy that only a husky like him can bring! Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org Adoption fee is $300 plus tax.

Story
The first day I met Calypso she was a limp very sick parvo puppy. As I gathered her fuzzy body into my arms the vet discussed our plans and expectations of her surviving. Night one she didn't move from my arms. As I glanced down at her face I wondered how she was not named Clubs! This perfect little puppy had a perfect club on her forehead. Maybe is was a clover as her luck changed in the next 24 hours and she started to heal. We thank KM Regional Vet Hospital for supporting her through her parvo. Clypsy as I call her loves her dog friends and chew toys. Clypsy already has a husky's mind for investigation and she will need a family that can help her build a life with lots of mental stimulation. Clypsy is still learning housetraining as her illness set her back in that crucial time of learning. Clypsy is also shy. I didn't know this as she is very outgoing and confident at my home. The minute a new person came in she hid and was very scared. This parvo has been much more than an illness it has carved out a time in her life that can never be returned. A time that puppies are learning all about life. She is a delightful girl and she is looking for a devoted family to call her own.
