Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is Balto, one of Lulu's 10 puppies that were all saved from a SD Reservation. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. Balto was adopted as a puppy and returned as an adult due to family changes.  Hi I'm Balto and I am looking for my forever home. I'm from a litter of 10 puppies and we all found our forever homes until mine didn't have time for a 'dog' anymore. So I ended up back at the rescue where I started. I'm in a foster home now and lucky to be with one of my sisters from my litter and I have a foster brother who is a Chihuahua mix and a foster sister who is younger and I ler her think she is the boss. I get along with all of them and love playing with my sisters but I am selective with all the animals in the home at times, so I would need to be an only pet in the home so I can have all of your attention. I can socialize outside the home with other dogs, I just don't like to share when I'm in my own place. I do love going to the dog park with all my friends. I have lots of puppy energy so I need a family that will help me learn and grow. I do know your basic commands sit, stay, lay, shake, down and no. I like playing with toys, stuffies, chew bones, balls playing tug with my sister & fetch with my foster parents. I do destroy stuffies so we might want to wait on them until I'm older or if you don't mind picking up my mess I can have them.  I love playing outside with my sisters (fenced in yard) and going for walks with the whole family. I have lots of energy to burn so I need to stay busy so I don't do any naughty things when I'm bored. (Chew toys are a must) I take naps after a good play or walk and I love to snuggle with my human and sometimes I think I'm a lap dog. I'm a good eater, drink lots of water and treats are good too but make me work for them so I don't forget my training. My foster parents tell me I'm a good boy when getting my treats & boy do I like that. I also like to relax and just sit in the yard / deck and watch the squirrels and birds. I'm okay by myself but would prefer my human to relax with me(snuggles). I also love to hold your hand with my paw when we're just chilling. I do great in the car and love going for rides and watching out the window. I'm good with meeting new people, I love the attention and I sit for kids and let them give me all the pets and belly rubs they want. When we go for our walks I do good when passing other people and dogs unless they want to meet me, then I sit and get all the pets I can. When at home I do get jealous if my foster brother or sister are getting attention so I like to push my way in and get the attention for myself I'm working on that. I'm also working on sharing toys and chew bones with my foster siblings, I like to have them all to myself but my foster parents tell me I am getting better at sharing them, I just need to be reminded at times. I'm still a young boy learning. We have cats in my foster home but I don't know how to react/play with them, I  just get so excited that I scare them; so at this time I cannot be around the cats. My foster parents think when I'm older I could maybe have a cat sibling. So at this time I am good with kids, a fenced in yard and no dogs in the home (play dates are fine) and no cats. So if you think you are my forever home and family and will continue to work with me let's meet. I'm ready for my forever family.  Balto is fully potty trained and will go to the door and bark/whine when he needs to go out. He also sleeps through the night anywhere from 8-12 hours depending on how much exercise he had the day before. He loves to sleep with his humans but will sleep on the floor, couch or dog bed if preferred. Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 13, 2024, 8:54 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxAbout Presley:  Housebroken Walks well on a leash Crate trained  Gets along great with other dogs Enjoys toys Food motivated for training Loves all people    She is great with other dogs and goes to doggie daycare several days a week. She quickly became a staff favorite.  When she hears the neighbors dogs, she runs around the yard looking to find a way to play with them too. Because of her social nature she will do best in a home with another dog or a family that will keep her social with other dogs regularly (dog park, play group, training, etc).  She adores all people, but especially kids, even the littlest ones (see videos).  She LOVES anything stuffed and squeaky!! She will entertain herself by tossing her favorite toys around for hours. Presley could use further work on basic training (sit, stay, recall) and is a very food motivated learner. Given some dedication to training she is sure to learn quickly!  Overall she is an amazing dog that will do excellent in a busy home that's looking to spend time outdoors whether it's playing, hiking, walks, going for a jog or visiting the dog park or a fun road trip - Presley is all-in for the family fun!! If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
Name: Mazzie Breeds: Husky Age: Adult Sex: Female Size: Medium Mazzie is a spitfire of a husky with endless love for her people, a bit of a mischievous streak, and a bit of the classic husky sass! She is an awesome girl. She loves to snuggle, loves to hang out with her people, and is always up for meeting new people. She is housetrained on a schedule, crates for the workday but hates the crate and needs either a sturdy crate or a dog-proofed area to stay. She loves her walks and loves to toss toys around and chew on bones. Her mischievous streak you may ask? This girl is a counter surfer! She is so talented in it she has been known to take dishes out of the sink so delicately in fact that she doesn’t even break them. So she needs someone to keep working on this and keeping things put away so she doesn’t have the opportunity to be inadvertently rewarded for it. Mazzie is excellent with dogs, loves all people, but does like to chase cats too much for her to be safe placed with them. She is a husky and does like to sing the song of her people when she has something to say so needs a home without a shared walls. She would be best with a fenced yard or someone committed to leashed walks (not tie-out) due to her willingness to be a typical husky and go exploring on her own. Requirements: No cats Adoption Fee: $500 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives. Story
Name: Stuffy Breeds: Husky/ Pomeranian Mix Age: Young Adult Sex: Female Size: Medium Stuffy is a husky/Pomeranian who is everything a Pomsky should be—good, bad, and everything in between. If you like a dog with lots of personality, mischief, and sass then you will love Stuffy. If you want a quiet, mellow dog who always minds and never talks back then Stuffy is not for you. She is heavy on the husky in looks but in a smaller, petite package. Stuffy adores other dogs and loves to play with them. She is a bit pushy in play and overwhelming to calm dogs because she doesn’t take no for an answer—because who wouldn’t want to play with her? For a playful dog she is a best friend since she can go on and on running and wrestling. Stuffy adores people and is tolerant of everything. She frequently gets picked up to get put in her kennel and doesn’t even mind “air jail”. Will she tell you her opinions of being locked up…absolutely. Stuffy is not for apartments or shared walls unless your neighbors too would like to hear her opinions shouted. She is housetrained, crates for the workday, and does mind her manners in the house as best as her little mischievous self can—she doesn’t know how the trash can got tipped over or why the barbie doesn’t have feet anymore but definitely probably was not her ;). Stuffy will bring so much love, happy chaos, and fun to any house lucky enough to choose her. Requirements: Training sign up recommended Adoption Fee: $550 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives. Story
Name: Kaia Breeds: Siberian Husky Age: Adult Sex: Female Size: ~50 lbs Is this a plush toy? Nope, it’s Kaia! She is a stunning husky who found herself in dog prison after taking herself on an adventure. We were shocked when no owner came forward for her. Kaia is a friendly girl and gets along great with other dogs. No cats for her though! She is the typical husky escape artist so needs a home with a taller fence (she jumped out of her 5’ kennel run at the shelter) or a home committed to leash walks. Kaia absolutely loves to go for walks and will sing her happy woo-woos when you grab her leash. She is a vocal girl so needs a home without shared walls since not everyone wants to hear her sing the songs of her people…how strange! Kaia is as pretty inside as she is outside and a husky loving home is going to be so thrilled they chose her! Kaia is about 50 lbs, 6 years old. Requirements: No cats. Needs a tall fenced yard. No shared walls. Adoption Fee: $600 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, deworming, and microchip Interested in adopting? Story
Name: Dolphin Breeds: Husky Mix Age: Young Adult Sex: Female Size: ~50 lbs Dolphin is an adorable husky type mix puppy who loves other dogs, loves to play, loves to sing the songs of her people, and loves to be held and loved on. She was an absolute favorite in the shelter and we can see why. Everyone falls in love with her! Dolphin is excellent with other dogs and would love a playmate. Dolphin is working on her housetraining and is used to being crated for the workday but does need a big push to get her in there. She needs a home without shared walls since she earned her name by her high pitched squeal she makes when she is crated or excited. Its adorable if you like husky noises but if you don’t its significantly less so. Requirements: No special requirements Adoption Fee: $600 + tax.
