Story
Location: Sioux Falls, SD I'm very smart and like learning new tricks. I am a bit of a Velcro dog- don't be surprised if I peek my head in the shower just to make sure you're still there. I want to play, but I'm more of a fan of "chase me than fetch, but I'm getting better at bringing the ball back and dropping it. When I'm super excited, I like to try and talk- I guess that's the husky in me! I would love to be a lap dog but I'm a big girl. I am house trained - I have had zero accidents in my home. I chew my toys, but not the shoes. I take treats very gently. I love going on walks but get excited by small critters and other dogs/people. I do walk best in a harness. I'm told I have a prey drive toward smaller animals - cats, dogs, squirrels, bunnies. I am dog selective and need slow intros to other dogs. I would be ok with another dog in the home as long as they are my size or bigger and we've had proper introductions with plenty of supervised playtime. I need a fenced in backyard and have been known to jump over a smaller fence. 5 feet is good. I do great in my kennel. I go in easily with a little treat as a reward. I rarely bark, mostly at those darn squirrels that chatter at me from the tree. As you can see, I'm gorgeous and I know it. I hate to brag, but my foster says I'm a very sweet, loving, smart, goofy, playful dog. I need a family that understands that I may never be a dog that can go to the dog park or socially hang out with other dogs due to my dog sensitivity. But I do promise to love you unconditionally and be the sweetest dog ever to my family. ----- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Location: Mankato, MN Coco (Cookie Crisp) has come a long way since being surrendered back to Recuse Network. She is a very affectionate dog. She loves cuddles, belly rubs and playing keep away with the other dog. She has learned how to sit, shake, lay down and kisses. She loves car rides. She is still learning to deal with being on a leash. (Work in progress). She does have some anxiety issues but they have gotten better since being in her foster home for the past month now. She’s good with other dogs and cats. She listens very well. Anyone who adopts her will fall in love with her immediately as she is such a precious girl. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Location: Sioux Falls, SD Meet **Trout**-our little warrior with a heart of gold! After bravely battling through parvo and mange, Trout has shown he's a true fighter who never gives up. With a sassy personality and a silly streak, he absolutely adores having his ears scratched and will melt into your lap for cuddles. Though he's still figuring out the fun of toys, Trout's signature move is picking them up and dashing off, as if on a secret puppy mission. This loving, cuddly boy is learning to set his boundaries with the older dogs but is wonderfully submissive. If you're looking for a resilient, playful, and affectionate companion, Trout is ready to bring joy and snuggles into your life. ----- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Location: St Peter, MN Coco is a total sweetheart and is sure to win you over! She is fully house and kennel trained with no issues. She will let you know when she needs to go outside -she will whimper. Absolutely loves the snow and rain. She is roughly 45lbs. She is the sweetest and very alert of her surroundings and will stop and make sure on walks if she sees something and looks at you. Very good with other dogs, kids, and people in general. Super curious and nosey. Beautiful colors on her coat. Loves bones of all sorts. Still have some issues with chewing on things if left alone for too long, thinking she's bored and wanting to be around people. ----- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Location: Madison, SD Crumbl is very sweet and affectionate. High energy loves to play chase when tossing a ball or a rubber ring. She walks well on a leash. I am not sure about with cats as my cat has not wanted to make friends at this time so the cat has kept to herself. Crumbl is funny and loves to be goofy always ready to play. Crumbl has had no accidents in the house, she is house trained. She seems to me to very intelligent and attentive to what I am doing. She is kennel trained and goes in when told to go in. She loves toys, plush toys are fun but have to be well made as she loves to play hard. When she gets sleepy she is also very snuggly. It has been such a joy already to have Crumbl here. Story
Location: Mankato, MN Meet Cookie! She is simply the sweetest girl you will ever meet. She loves cuddles and playing with toys. She’s at her happiest when she is outside on walks or at the dog park. Cookie gets along well with other dogs, but doesn’t necessarily play with them. She gives the funniest side-eyes and has the happiest smiles! Cookie is very calm and relaxed, she is not a dog who is hyper. While she is very calm, she still loves to go outside and be active. Story
Peri is about 5 1/2 years old, and we rescued her 4 years ago. She and our other pup got along immediately and became fast friends. Our favorite Peri story is from when we were visiting our parents retirement community and she ran onto a nearby golf course. She decided to help out a few of the golfers and move their balls slightly closer to the hole. Peri is full of love and energy, and we hope she finds another home that can give her the love she wants and deserves. She’s been having a hard time adjusting to life with our newborn, and the amount of training suggested by a trainer would not be realistic for us to maintain. We are heartbroken to say goodbye, but she’s not getting the attention she needs and the stress she’s facing is unfair to her. Beyond that Peri is a wonderful dog and with the right family will thrive. She’s a little scared of loud noises and every once in a while will get protective over a special treat but beyond that she is full of love.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.     *Estimated arrival in MN - Jan/Feb 2025* Zelda (1.5yo 45lb) is a teenage girl Husky who is looking for a foster home, but ultimately, her forever home! Zelda will need a home that understands the exercise, temperament, and singing that comes with a Husky. Because this breed is higher maintenance, we do not suggest Zelda as a single dog or for a first time owner.  Zelda is really energetic and loves to play! She's currently being fostered with a Catahoula mix 1.5yo, a bunch of smaller dogs around 2-6yo & under 30lb. She tries to play with everyone, but ends up finding her friend Saber to wrestle with. Zelda also LOVES that water! She fights with the water hose in typical Husky fashion, and would love swimming with her people. Zelda is a big fan of the game fetch, but doesn't quite understand the rules yet - you can throw it, but you can't take it! She really is a goofy gal.  Zelda is a strong young pup and is very opinionated and loves to think she is the boss. Zelda is still working on jumping, pulling on a leash, but shows a lot of potential. She loves toys, treats, people, dogs, and pretty much everything else!  Interested in fostering and/or adopting? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.     Rex is a beautiful, young Husky/Shepherd boy. He's very affectionate, loves playing in water, and loves sleeping curled up next to his person. Rex is high energy and loves to play - he will need a fenced in yard and a very active person to walk or jog with him. In true Husky fashion, Rex will playfully chase whatever moves! He is said to be good with kids, and very gentle once he settles down, and he's good with other dogs. Once he arrives in MN on Feb 1, and settles into his foster home, we'll update his bio more! Story
Hi, my name is Yara, I am from Arkansas. I'm an energetic and playful pup looking for my forever family. I absolutely love running around, so having a yard would be a dream come true. I enjoy making friends with other dogs, though I can sometimes be a little overenthusiastic. Cats are okay too, but I’m still learning about giving them space. I’m working hard on potty training, leash manners, and basic obedience, but I can be a bit sassy at times (in the cutest way, of course!). I thrive on activity and mental stimulation, and I love being involved in whatever you're doing. If you're looking for a lively companion who’s full of personality, I might just be the one for you!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxAbout Presley:  Housebroken Walks well on a leash Crate trained  Gets along great with other dogs Enjoys toys Food motivated for training Loves all people    She is great with other dogs and goes to doggie daycare several days a week. She quickly became a staff favorite.  When she hears the neighbors dogs, she runs around the yard looking to find a way to play with them too. Because of her social nature she will do best in a home with another dog or a family that will keep her social with other dogs regularly (dog park, play group, training, etc).  She adores all people, but especially kids, even the littlest ones (see videos).  She LOVES anything stuffed and squeaky!! She will entertain herself by tossing her favorite toys around for hours. Presley could use further work on basic training (sit, stay, recall) and is a very food motivated learner. Given some dedication to training she is sure to learn quickly!  Overall she is an amazing dog that will do excellent in a busy home that's looking to spend time outdoors whether it's playing, hiking, walks, going for a jog or visiting the dog park or a fun road trip - Presley is all-in for the family fun!! We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Location: Champlin, MN Orchid- she is all sassy! Has a hilarious personality and very playful. She’s very talkative and has major FOMO. She wants to be where the action is. She just wants to lick your face. She loves baths but doesn’t like leaving the warm water and will shake from the chill. She is good with other dogs, but isn't house trained she does go into her crate well. She plays well and does ok with kids (youngest is 8 years old).
