Got Loki from paws and claws. He is 4 years old but is young at heart. We are looking for someone who is able to hangout with him since we aren’t always home for him and have a big yard because he loves being outside and running around. Loki is friendly, tamed, loving and loves to cuddle plus is so fluffy

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Volunteer fave in the house! Bram arrived at the shelter on Sept. 29th, after he went unclaimed at the city pound. He's a happy and energetic husky mix with icy blue eyes. We do think he's mixed with some type of herding breed. He's friendly and ready for action at all times. He's also very loving. His size is in the medium range and he's most likely 1 to 2 years old. He has been vet checked, neutered, and chipped. His fee is $150. We're hoping to find Bram a home that has some experience with husky types. They are notorious clowns who love to run! Bram does require basic obedience training and a lot of regular exercise to keep him settled. He loves to play and be with people. He has a tendency to be strong willed so he needs an experienced owner who is ready and willing to work with this. Cats are most likely a no for him. An adult only home would be best and a fenced yard would be perfection. He could do well with a well mannered dog of similar size. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application as been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Keep an eye on your emails if you apply. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 10:55 am

Story
Are you the one? Please read my whole bio. Hey there, hoomans of the internet! My name is Pancho, and I would love more than anything to find my forever home. I'm looking for an experienced owner and a specific environment that fits my needs, but I just know that there is someone out there with a heart big enough to take a chance on me! My foster mom says that when I'm with the people I trust, in the safety of my home, I'm gentle, loving, goofy, well-behaved, a great listener, and the biggest snuggle bug. She's a little biased but she says I'm destined to be some lucky person's heart dog. Here's what my ideal home looks like: * Experienced Dog Owner Required: Someone who can read my body language, manage my interactions with other dogs and people, and who understands my quirks and can provide the structure I need. * Selective Dog Companions: I'm picky about the other dogs I interact with and I need a family who respects my boundaries. I can get along with some submissive dogs and I love, love, love puppies, but I resource guard around other dogs, and I don't back down from a confrontation, so I need owners who are attentive and responsible when I'm around other pups. * No young children: I require a home without young children. Tweens and teens are okay, as long as they respect my boundaries. * Fenced Yard Required: I am reactive towards other dogs when I'm walking on the leash, and I have that classic husky prey drive. Because of this, it's not always possible for me to get all the exercise I need through walks. I need a home with a fenced yard so that I can run and play and have zoomies to help get my energy out. * No Apartments: due to my reactivity towards other dogs, and distrust of strangers, I am not suited for an apartment. I know that I come with a lot of requirements for my new home, but for the right person, I promise I will be worth it!! Here's a bit more about me: * I've Got Skills! I'm potty trained and know lots of commands, and not just the basic boring ones! I love to learn and mom has taught me to roll-over, spin, weave between her legs, heel (as long as there isn't a squirrel around), "wait" for a treat that's in front of me, and more! I'm also crate-trained, but you don't need to crate me because I am a perfect gentleman and I can be trusted to free roam while my humans are away. I am left alone for 8-10 hours three days a week and I never get into trouble! * I'm Active: I love outdoor adventures like hikes, jogs, splashing in the water, and going for car rides. "Car" is my favorite word and I get so excited when I hear it! I'd be a great running partner, and I'm your perfect adventure buddy. I'm still working on my short-leash skills - it's really hard not to pull when the rabbits and squirrels in the neighborhood are taunting me! But I love when mom takes me out on my long line to go exploring and sniffvestigate to my heart's content. * I'm Playful and Goofy! When I'm around people I trust I am the biggest goofball and I love, love, LOVE to play with my stuffies! My favorite toy is my rainbow that has lots of little unicorns living inside. I love to take them out and have mom throw them for me. I don't rip my toys or destroy them, I just love to squeak them, toss them around, and snuggle them when I'm sleepy. I have a silly personality that never fails to make my hoomans laugh, and I will always make your day brighter with my hilarious antics! * I Love Kitties: I came from a home with many cats and I would love to have a kitty companion in my new home. I have been tested around several cats in my foster home and I've proven that I know how to be gentle and careful around kitties and give them the space they need. I also respect when they tell me to keep my distance with a whack to my nose ;) * I Have Guardian Instincts: I take my role as protector seriously, so I'm best suited for someone who values safety and wants a loyal companion. I would be a great companion for a woman who wants to go on solo walks, hikes, and/or runs and feel safe while doing so. * I'm Muzzle-trained: My muzzle is a great tool that helps keep me and any strange dogs or humans I interact with safe. I'm trained to go for long walks with my muzzle on, so I can go places where an off-leash dog might run up to me. Mom also uses my muzzle to introduce me to new people, as I get really nervous when strangers reach their hands towards me and sometime my fear gets the better of me and I snap at them. I warm up to most women right away, and while I'm more distrustful of men, with some extra time and patience I will come to love them too. I thought my foster grampaw was pretty sketchy when we first met, but now he's one of my favoritest hoomans ever! Once I've decided someone is my friend, I am completely trustworthy around them without my muzzle - the only threat is lots of slobbery kissies! To recap, I thrive with a slow introduction to new people and dogs. My ideal family will cherish my loving nature and help me maintain boundaries with strange dogs and humans and respect my need for a calm and structured environment. And of course provide me with lots of stuffies and a lap that is always open for cuddles! If you're an experienced dog owner who's ready for a loyal, goofy, and loving companion, let's meet! My foster mom says she would adopt me in a heartbeat, but then she wouldn't be able to help more dogs like me down the road. She wants you to know that taking a chance on a dog like me and putting the work in to make me feel at home is one of the most fulfilling things a pawrent can do, and if you take that chance it will change both our lives for the better! I've been waiting over a year for someone to see my potential...are you the one I've been looking for? Story
The first day I met Calypso she was a limp very sick parvo puppy. As I gathered her fuzzy body into my arms the vet discussed our plans and expectations of her surviving. Night one she didn't move from my arms. As I glanced down at her face I wondered how she was not named Clubs! This perfect little puppy had a perfect club on her forehead. Maybe is was a clover as her luck changed in the next 24 hours and she started to heal. We thank KM Regional Vet Hospital for supporting her through her parvo. Clypsy as I call her loves her dog friends and chew toys. Clypsy already has a husky's mind for investigation and she will need a family that can help her build a life with lots of mental stimulation. Clypsy is still learning housetraining as her illness set her back in that crucial time of learning. Clypsy is also shy. I didn't know this as she is very outgoing and confident at my home. The minute a new person came in she hid and was very scared. This parvo has been much more than an illness it has carved out a time in her life that can never be returned. A time that puppies are learning all about life. She is a delightful girl and she is looking for a devoted family to call her own.
