Story
If you're looking for the perfect pup, look no further! Meet Periwinkle (Peri for short), the 1 year old husky/doberman/lab/cattle dog mix (her breed was identified via Ancestry.com)! We can't say enough amazing things about this sweet girl. If you're looking for young pup on the calmer, gentler side, Peri embodies this to a T. Peri is very docile, submissive, gentle, and loving. She wants nothing more than to spend time with her humans and snuggle up. She is slightly nervous to meet new people, but quickly warms up if you give her some time! Per her foster family: "she is the best dog that we've ever had the pleasure of fostering!" Peri does incredible with kiddos (her foster family has a 7 year old and 9 year old), and loves dog and cat friends. However, she will need to be in a home WITHOUT another dog, and we will consider cats based on their temperament. Peri is house-trained, does fabulous in her crate (she is crated when her foster family leaves the house and throughout the night), is not a barker, walks wonderfully on a leash, and is food motivated which helps immensely with training! All who meet this cutie will fall in love with her instantly! With all that said, Peri was born with the milder form of a genetic connective tissue disorder called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS). This condition can also occur in humans, which her foster mother has as well - so the family was well equipped to handle Peri's needs. Potential adopters should be knowledgeable in how to care for an animal with this condition or at least be willing to learn. Peri's skin can lacerate very easily, even if she runs by a tree branch too quickly (as an example - this hasn't actually happened). This means that she should be in a home without other playful pals where she could catch a paw, or playful nip, etc. She is fabulous with other dogs and cats, but we are requiring her to be adopted to a home without another dog; cats may be okay if they mind their own business/do their own thing and don't try to play with Peri in an aggressive manner. This is non-negotiable. Important to note: please consider what you are financially able to handle with a pup like Peri. Her foster family has had her for 10 months and she's been nothing short of a joy to have in the home. But she will require care that has the potential to be costly. Regardless, you will not be able to resist this girl, she is truly one of a kind and deserves a loving and supportive home! _____________________________________________________________________________ If you are interested in finding out more about Periwinkle, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Periwinkle is being fostered in Millbury, MA. Her adoption fee is $300. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook! - Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal positive reinforcement dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Meet Tarzan! This beautiful, strong boy is looking for a new home and a fresh start. Tarzan is a pup who knows what he wants and has an independent personality. Tarzan might be able to live with another dog who has the same energy level as him but would do best in a home with no children or small pets. Access to green space and plenty of exercise is important to this husky finding a happy home.Tarzan would love to find a home that has experience with dogs and can appreciate him! If you think Tarzan would be a great fit for your home please fill out the Dog Adoption Inquiry Form listed under his bio on our website www.worcesterarl.org. That is the first step! All meets are by appointment, thank you.

Story
Domino is a 9 year old, full bred, goofy, floofy Husky. He is chatty. If he needs to go out, or dinner is 2 minutes late, or he wants your attention…he will tell you all about it in his goofy Husky style. He’s also chatty when playing with other dogs, which may make some dogs a bit nervous or think he’s yelling at them, so he needs playmates that can match or deal with his shenanigans. And if you’re all about the Husky howl, Domino has a good one and will share it with you if asked, but you’ll need to ask using your own Husky howl. 😆 Domino will thrive in a home where he is the only dog as long as he’s getting love, attention and daily exercise. He does get along with other dogs, and has had some fantastic play dates, however he does not like to be bossed around. If considering adding him to your home with an existing fur baby, it needs to be with a friend, or friends, wanting to play and share. He is not about the drama. Aggression, possessiveness and dominance are not his jam.
